Tremendously cool. But the exhaust, particularly the upper two, look like they are going to shake themselves to bits after a while, cracking around the flanges....? Anyone had experience of these after have them for a while?
im not sure of the db rating, but i do have these as they are here on my beetle and let me tell you IT'S LOUD in person. that being said, they do offer baffles for them to quiet them down a good bit. I'm just not willing to pay the price for four of them to make it quieter.
What venturis are you using?. I’m running dual weber 40 idf in a stock 1600, when I accelerated black smoke comes out from the scape. The webers has 110 main jets, 215 air , f11 and 55 idles and 27’ venturis. Most of the “guides” says that I should use 28 venturis and 120 main, 55 idle, 200 air. I should change my venturis and jets?
@@leoalbertolopez6962 yes, most 40 idf have 28 venturi, you should try the other set up with jets and see how it works. It all depends where you live and what elevation you live at.
@@leoalbertolopez6962 Hi Leo, how are you? There is a guy in Brazil that built 25' venturis and it seems to work pretty fine. Try search for "Tonella - Fuskatia 21" on youtube. He describes how to setup those empi webers on 1600cc beetle (The video is in portuguese). Best Regards, Fernando
My veary first car was a vw..back in 1976 but never was able to reach this level ...due to fact high school limited on funds remember some one saying Your engine sounds like a sewing machine.. silly people...haha. ..
Very clean sound runs great with my carbs o. My 1600 were that dialed in!! Great job!!
smooth and sounds great
and that idle, great build
Excelente desde la ciudad de Panamá 🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦
That’s cool, you should put a serpentine pulley kit on it, I did on my 1835cc engine and I gained a few hp.
Is this running stock heads and cam? Sounds really responsive.
Beast
Just goes to show you don’t have to have a big engine to get that beefy sound. I wonder how it sounds with stock muffler or quietpack?
Awesome
Excuse me, I just bought a 66 VW same motor. How many quarts of oil do I use and what kind of oil? Please let me know. Thx

We have a 94db limit in Michigan.... Do those pipes exceed the noise limit? Curious because I want those!!!

what fuel pressure are you running ?
3psi is what I set the Weber IDFs (and any aftermarket clones) at.
What's the jetting on your carbs
How much power ?
Power or hp?
Isn’t dual 40IDF carbs too much for a stock 1600?
Nope they go great just wouldn't go any bigger then that
Jetted correctly they work excellent on a 1600cc.

Where do you get those headers at!
Customer supplied them, I believe they are an Empi product purchased at Appletree Auto in Michigan.
