Ok, I have questions, 1. How much does it cost an athlete to attend the crossfit games? 2. Would you pay that amount to go knowing you would will be cut on Friday? or Saturday? 3. How many people would spectate the games if it was only the top 10? Doesn't allowing for more contestants increase viewership and therefore revenue? I understand that cuts allow for different programing for events, but it seems to me that they could be shooting themselves in the foot but decreasing interest in the games by decreasing the participation numbers on Saturday and Sunday.
You will be paying to say you are a Games Athlete. Being at the games will Help with sponsors (money) and your overall ranking (potential sponsors and money). Plus you have to pay to play. Maybe you get lucky on wods and cuts

Castro in one of the BB documentaries (the one people were calling the running games, 2018 I think?) said something to the effect of "Maybe we didn't find the correct 2nd fittest or the 3rd fittest, but I think we did find the fittest on Earth and that's what it's all about.". I know with a certainty that that isn't an exact quote, but anyone who watched it knows what I'm talking about. The Games are about finding that person that rises to the top no matter the circumstance because they can do their weak movements well enough to stay relevant and their strong movements are unmatched. Which part?
@@hillerfit this video is indeed a rollercoaster. There are a lot of good points here but I think it comes down to (IMO) if there is no challenge, the athletes will remain the same, the top athletes will indeed remain the same and the stats will predict the winners for the season. I'm not just talking about challenges in the way of workouts like new movements or more reps or more weight, or changing the time domains, but things like NEW CUTS, and now the athletes will need to push harder on that first day to "staay alive", or the fact that they may be doing movements with no grips/protective equipment when they haven't done specific movements without grips for a decent amount of time. We will see what the games brings. :)
Not me. I think she will podium but not win. If it didn’t rain last year on Alpaca then Lawson would have kept her distance above Horvath.
What? Laura would’ve crushed Alpaca. She can do weighted seated legless rope climbs. Her margin of victory would’ve been even larger.
@@CruJones81 She did crush it though. So it could have only impacted the other way. No one will know
Edit Second!

Damnit I'm third
You still Podium ! Nice work

This sounds very Fixed Mindset
Laura hasn't displayed she has what it takes physically to win the games so she'll just be a podium athlete at best. DB is extremely good but she doesn't have the mental fortitude to win yet. Personally I see Annie T winning this year because of her elite physical abilities and mental maturity.
Laura won Rogue pretty convincingly. She’s an absolute beast.
I could see Annie winning. I hope Katrin wins. Laura is program dependent.
I bet Medeiros loses this year.
Tia not being there in 2023 IS the best thing to happen
Glad we agree!
Yes!
You get a thumbs down for Tia in your thumb mail 👎
So no deficit hspu, a 1rm snatch and clean, justin not even top 5, Laura wins... hmm
Kat wins this one
God I hope so. Seriously would be epic
She’s gotten stronger for sure. It’s going to be a good gauge for HWPO program validity.
Moving over to HWPO has certainly sparked a fire in her and a driven, hungry, having fun Katrin is dangerous.
@@calliecavalli82 agree…but looking at recent videos HWPO seems to just be Katrin and Hopper, almost deserted.
I knew something was “off” these past couple years when I started to question the passion and excitement crossfit had in the previous years. Low and behold when I hesitated taking the rose colored glasses off, here comes Andrew Hiller to explain what I couldn’t. Not all heroes wear capes, they spit facts & CrossFit 🫡
