The problem with cities skylines is that it disincentivises breaking from the grid due to how zoning works as lots can only have 90° angles meaning that if you have an acute angle where roads meet the space will be left blank. This isn’t help by the fact that there is no surface painter In vanilla so it goes from built up office building to medow, if there was some sort of corner buildings that can fit the non-right angles that would make cities look so much better.
Your casual and friendly voice, and simple way of explaining, with obvious care for what you’re doing reminds me of the classic CS1 RUclipsr, freshpopcorn. Glad to have found your channel.
I wanted leave a little tip here that I saw with other city builders with respect to more organic looking road connections. I often see them dragging the road over and into the road they are connecting to. That’s probably my favourite new mechanic in cities 2.
This a great tutorial... Well done! I normally use natural barriers such as rivers, lakes, mountains and so on to break through my existing networks...
Im waiting for this game to have custom LUT for ultra real graphics and a few more buildings and mods, then il buy it. Ive just built such massive cities before that i know i get bored with too many same buildings. The LUT visuals really made the first game look better. This game should look really really good by then. Its pretty good default though. Oh yea, when theres a sale Il snag it.
Is the economy in this game broken? I want to build big expansions and what not but I am severely limited by the fact that I cannot make any money. This as well as the extremely terrible performance. I play on low settings and it hurts my eyes when playing for too long. Looks like a grain filter or a camera from 2003
The economy needs some work, but it isn't difficult to make money, in fact.. I'd argue it's pretty easy. As for the visuals, I'm having some issues with grain but only in the cinematic camera, so I'm not sure what exactly may have going on.
For the visuals: Maybe you have problems with resolution scaling. Turn it off (or native, or I don't remember the setting). And in the advanced graphics settings, at antialiasing method, choose TAA.

Wow, thank you! That's very kind of you! Welcome to the channel!

That is pretty nice! Something I often forget!
Good stuff Slay!
Thank you!!!

For sure, that is a solid way to do it. Try breaking it up with roads near a downtown area. It'll really make your city blocks stand out!

Hopefully we'll see it one day! No functionality now, that I know of, for that. Maybe MODS will bring it.
