I garden in pots. Mostly flowers. But I've started trying out a bit of veg too. My broccoli came out amazing this year on my first try (not in the US. We had a warm winter here, in an otherwise hot country anyways). It was so good. Even a bit sweet! We loved it. Now the side babies are coming up and in a couple of weeks we're going to make a feast out of 3 large plants on a holiday dinner for the whole family. I'm so excited!
Love how content rich your vids are...0 fluff...but lots of positivity and great info and demonstration.
Just harvesting now and you answered my question. Thanks!
Thanks to your information I was able to get 3 harvests from 4 broccoli plants and 4 harvests from 2 plants, I have 6 plants in total.

Is broccoli a cut and regrow plant? Or once your harvest is done? If you don’t get extra crowns?
Perfect content, short sharp good info and no BS, cheers mate, subscribed!
Hi Kevin. I love watching your videos! I’ve learned so much from you. We are moving soon and won’t be in our new home till June 1. Is this too late to plant beans, Broccoli, cauliflower, etc? I plan to use raided beds and live in Cincinnati. Can I use a trellis for the beans? Thanks for all your wonderful tips on gardening! Sending you warm Spring wishes and Happy gardening🤗🌷🌻
You can plant brassicas in the fall. Brassicas actually can do two seasons per year - spring and fall. Good luck!
Hey Kevin, just wondering how long your broccoli takes after it starts to head. Mine have started to head, but kinda unsure of timeline. Thanks!
Do all broccoli have branches, or are there varieties that only flower one head of broccoli fruit?! How can I find out!
Thanks for the video, your channel is very useful, keep it up 💚
Very helpful. I have broccoli crowns developing in other parts of the plant....not just from the primary crown. Will those turn into full crowns?
I planted one in the ground a month ago in northern Ontario and I have a head about quadruple the size of this. I cannot believe the size of the leaves this plant looks miniature or small strain
do these tips apply to the burgundy sprouting broccoli from botanical interest? I'm growing this the burgundy for the first time this year and they are about to flower. I'm excited!
Merci pour ce partage 👍💚
Thank for the good advice. Still good in 2024.
What broccoli seeds would you recommend? My broccoli grows very small florets. Thanks
Should I keep growing even though I’m going into warmer weather in Nor Cal?
Once I’ve harvested the crowns and side shoots and leaves, what do you recommend I do with the stalk? Till it under?
What can I spray on them to keep bugs away. I have something Chopin on my leaves. Idk what bug.
I'd love to see more harvesting videos... perhaps even a meal prep video. I'm having trouble picturing a broccoli wrap.
Can def do
Great vid, I just wish I'd looked at it sooner, already got some flower starting up
My broccoli always develops a hole in it after harvesting. Even when I cut it at a slant. Then flies get into it and it starts to smell
The harvest size is smaller than i was expecting. We have a head ready to harvest and only 4-5" in diameter.
definitely let mine go just a little too long this time (our first time though!) this was very helpful and perfectly informative on how and when to best harvest the broccoli crowns.
growing food for ourselves and our communities, like was done since time immemorial but is almost nonexistent contemporaneously, is emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually rewarding. direct action, mutual aid, local (literally walking distance) enterprise and cooperative solidarity are all foudational columns of the incipient human revolution.
Thank you for the fantastic video - liked and subscribed! Will be back for more.
Is there one for cauliflower?
Very helpful garden tip, I'm going to roll around in my garden as soon as I can, let's be RUclips mate?
Kevin if u don't mind me asking, what RUclips editor do u use??
I have 2 broccoli in a tight space and one is overshadowing my bell pepper. Can i harvest the leaves below to make some more space or will this hurt the plant?
How long the broccoli take time from transplanting to harvest, my broccoli is about more than 70 days from transplant, does it takes 100 days
How long would it take to have another head like this one after cutting it?
Is it similar to growing a cauliflower?
How do you know when a plant needs to have something covering it?
hi, im growing broccoli for the first time, they are coming along great, huge leaves at this stage but no head coming thru yet, at what stage can I nip a few leaves off to eat? they look delicious already :D cheers
taking leaves early would further slow the head development i would think. And they are finicky so i would wait until a head forms to take leaves. Or eat all the leaves you like and dont expect a head :)
@@snarkymcsnarkles3493 cheers Snarky :)
Mine are tiny and go right to flowers
Hell yeah
I have lots of beautiful looking, fully grown Broccoli plants... BUT they don't form heads ... can you tell me why??
mine have flowered already what do i do now??
Hi, how can we plant broccoli?
Hmm... I didn't know that eating broccoli was literally eating flower buds lol
🐟Hello Friend🐟Broccoli is my favourite vegetable🐠Thanks for sharing a nice video🐠🦈🐬Have a nice day🐋🐋👍👍🔔🔔🔔
Have a good day!
If you don’t remove the crown and you let them flower what happens?
So the leaves can be eaten raw?
My broccoli plants were eaten by house finches :( There might be hope for the offshoot broccoli though
💚
wat is de gele plant daar achter?
I'm very new. Do you prune the leaves as you harvest, or leave them alone until all the side shoots are done?
Very good man! That wasn't an epic broccoli plant tho! Cute little guy, but more sun, food and water right? Anyway, my cauliflower has always discolored, forming heads now. Nice and white, do I tie the leaves up like some people? This seems unhygienic, an insect haven, and impractical.
The flowers that develop are edible also
True!
