Im currently playing through it right now on the xbox series x and although i havent got a 4k screen im honestly amazed at how well the graphics, presentation and immersion they did to make this look like a Cinematic experience. The fact the opening chapter is a proper nostalgic trip of raiders of the lost ark i was impressed at how well they managed to capture the film shot by shot and the motion capture makes star wars outlaws look like poorly animated garrys mod video. You can tell just how much work they did to capture the likeness of early harrison ford while its actually voiced by troy baker i honestly felt like i was indiana himself. Also loved the many funny gags in the game where you can use almost anything to knock someone out with the goofy ragdolls and the iconic punch sound effects.
Probably the happiest I’ve been in this game was when I grabbed a torch off the wall saw a candle walked over and he reached out and lit the torch. I know that’s a weird one but it feels like something that would happen in the movies and walking into the tunnel after felt so much cooler. The environments are stunning and playing the game immersed really works. I love the animations for switching disguises changes based on the disguise. Like the priest one he slicks back his hair or dusts off his jacket and puts his hat on for the default. Small things that feel in game and not done just in menus adds to the immersions.
Loving this game at the mo. Feels like an interactive movie. All the activity just binds into the story. e.g. taking the photo's could be boring but because it builds the story it makes it so much better.
Everyone gave Todd Howard hell for starfield but he needs alot of credit for this game also.. btw I enjoyed starfield… and also raiders, the great circle and the last crusade make a perfect trilogy
it feels like a long time since we've had a good game and a brilliant pre-launch & launch day condition. It a fantastic adventure/exploration game which ticks all the boxes. The developers deserve a few beers for this. Also... the time setting is perfect!
I would say, the platforming and swinging around is a bit clunky. It is. But, it's not bad. Same goes for fist combat, but not greatest, but not bad. Regarding combat, there is tons of weapons, and its really fun to smack enemies with new different items. Besides a few smaller critiques, the game is a true banger. Have been impressed and surprised by the game. At least a 8/10.
its not bad. u can just kinda chill and get a few things done. basically it feels like ur just going through the motions and exploring to get to the next cut scenes. its like a movie lol
Ngl when i saw the trailer I rolled my eyes and thought ... Here we go again, another trailer lying to us and rhe games gonna be dead as my nan. But it seems like this one has really delivered
Been playing it and it’s up there for my favorite game this year. Its not perfect but it feels so much like Indiana Jones that it gives me hope for the IP. Dial of destiny was such a disappointment to me not just bc the story but the feel of Indiana Jones wasn’t there and I thought we probably wouldn’t get it again. This is the closest to the original trilogy of movies I’ve seen in a long time.
I don't know man. The internet is saying the main campaign is 13 hours long. That's over 5 dollars per hour of gametime. They say it's 20 hours if you are a completionist which is $3.5/hour. Last month I bought DA Veilguard for $60. My first run was 100 hours long. That's .60 cents/hour. No matter how good it is there isn't enough bang for the buck. I'll wait until there is a BIG sale and get it then.
Are you actually joking?! LMAO!! Veilguard being .60 cents an hour isn't the deal you think it is considering that piss poor quality and overall direction of the game. It's like comparing a quality block of cheese that'll serve up 5 incredible sandwiches Vs vegan coconut cheese that'll serve up 20 pretty offensive sandwhiches.
… Yes, yes it is. Granted I’ve been a massive Indy fan for most of my life (born in ‘82), so I’m biased. But all round it’s an excellent game. Uncharted 4 is probably still my favourite game of all time, this is probably my second favourite, all the fun and adventure of Uncharted, but without the terrible gunplay.
I have a bug * I play on a Acer A770 Bi-frost Gpu I posted the bug in my video * It has a like bushy beard wacky thingy going on jones face i have tried everything to fix it but Nothing helps - I think it is just the GPU that is the problem.
The game doesn't even have any real gameplay elements in it. While most games of this type have Quick Time events, this game replaces those with Slow Time events. Just press a button prompt and watch stuff happen without player control. In between those STE, you'll have to sleep through cutscenes with no way to skip them, even if you've played the scene before. The cutscenes are locked at 60 FPS, and through the XBox app, I've discovered there is no true fullscreen, (either Windowed, or Borderless window). I did manage to get 78 FPS, but with my RTX 4070 Ti Super, I'd expect at least 100 FPS. I was really excited for this game and after playing it, all I can say is, if you want to have a good Indiana Jones experience, just watch the movies.
@@kiillabytez I guess to each their own. I do like the cut scenes by the way, I’m watching a new Indiana Jones movie basically. But I like wondering around and exploring in the game. I like looking at the detailed world and trying to find the collectibles. and I think the combat loop is fun. Running in a camp with a shovel and throwing it at someone or breaking it on someone and then hurrying to try to find anything at all to use as a weapon, using the whip to pull enemies weapons out, considering picking a gun up to use, occasionally using my fists and using the parry/dodge system, and doing this all on the fly, is a really addicting combat gameplay loop for me.
@@kiillabytez I’m just curious, how far did you get into the game? The most scripted and linear part of the game is the opening. After that, especially once you get to the Vatican, the game really opens up.
1. Original John Williams Indiana theme, nowhere to be found in the game! 2. 70 percent is unplayable cinematics, 30 percent is gameplay 3. In the Bible God promised Noah, He will never send another flood again. At the end of the game we see start of another flood, making God a liar. 4. Instead of making us seat in chair for countless hours watching cinematics, give us a story told with gameplay and short cinematics. We will watch original movies instead of cinematics. PC review: 6

It’s nice to have a game exceed expectations for once. I have waited since 1989 for a decent Indy story.
Seems to be a rarity these days
What expectations did you have, because they must have been REALLY low.
@Homelander1234 I never said the game was good.
Smarter than you. At least I follow my own path and I'm not like a sheep.
5:19 damn that's a really good point! Such a underrated aspect of this game too 🔥🔥
This game will go down as a GOAT with King Kong and Butcher Bay as video game movie adaptations that had no business banging as hard as they did!

Indiana Jones > Starfield imagine if Bethesda used some of these aspects in Starfield lol
Well that would be weird considering machine games made this game
And those two games are completely different genres. What a dumb comment.
They made Wolfenstein not starfield
it runs well because it's not made on unreal.... older engine means better performance
Yeah it's kinda mad
I must choose this or Kindom Come 2 😅 what should i buy first on Ps5

And it is in first person view, what poops even more on everything else...
Even if this game has traces of wokeness in it its minimal at a glance maybe worth a buy and play

You have the choice, it's just safer to go stealth, especially as you learn the mechanics. One slip up and you can find yourself in a world of hurt.
