I like that set up on the underlift to hook up chains using a chain binder. Seems simpler, quicker and more secure than the hooks.

Since Vladimire didn't even have his warning triangles out, I would have put the light bar on first.

Darl needs one of them flashing lights for his truck as it does seem to work.
If they are expensive to buy you could easily make one with a 12 volt battery, a flashing beacon and a water tight food box.

People really piss me off not moving over I've had my ribs broke being smacked by a mirror and I've had my truck hit I've also lost some good friends and been to my share of towers funerals because people can't pull their head out of their ass and have enough decency and respect and courtesy to move over a lane it's a real sore subject for me

    • @corycollier

someone on another video suggested that those who refuse to move over should be made to stand out there on the side of the road for X amount of time (I don't remember what they gave for a time limit), and I can't argue with that. It seems fair. Might remove their heads from their asses...but then again it may not. I would HOPE it would.....

I used to have a socket called ‘gator grip’ years ago, not sure if they are even made any longer. I do have a set of sockets designed for just such occasions and they seem to work pretty well. What i have now is called ‘extract it’ by mastercraft. Its a 5 pc set, has some reverse cut edges inside the socket that grab on to the damaged bolt head and allow you to back them out. Might be worth checking into.

There's a recall on those Freightliners for a Corroded SAM which will overheat and catch fire

Nice job Darl! Had to work for that one.
You guys should go out right now and buy a set of turbo sockets for each truck for just that reason ... probably would have taken that bolt right out.

I had the same problem once. used a cold chisel and a BFH to loosen the bolt and vice grips got the bolt out.

    Thanks for the video.
Good that it is not a planet rear axle as it installed MAN. There is 3.5 liters of oil in the side in order to increase the stub shaft out.

Sir Trent !! Saw on the new Wreckers that they have installed blinker caution lights on the inside of the compartment doors so that when they are open that passing traffic can see the doors !!! As ever ,,traffic won't move over like the Law states !!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!

2005 year. Bad year for emissions. They had a lot of problem in those years. As an O/O, I skip those years and went from a 2001 truck to a 2016 truck.
This is also a good video that shows why you want to carry a good fire extenguar. Put out the fire out before the driver lost all there stuff and the truck.

With the amount of traffic passing by that close and fast really must make the tow operators a bit jumpy.

That's right drivers your shiny new Cascadia's are not the only Freightliner's that have the roman candle dash option like Freightliner told you! The problem goes back a lot further, just remember they have a lot of money for lawyers :)

Scooping up the oil was funny considering everything else that was laying along side the road. The oil was the most natural thing there. That part of the state is all kitty litter anyway.

Those bolts aren't supposed to be reused but everyone does. Tow operators could save themselves some grief by tossing them when they are removed. A grinder or die grinder makes short work of them.

    • @appleintosh

With one side removed, the differential can spin freely. You’d really have to know how a differential works to understand.

John ever had to clean up a car or truck? It is one Hell of a mess. Trent has a video that Plaza did a couple of years ago when the whole rig went up in flames. Between Caltrans and Plaza it took I think about six hours to clean up, happened on the 10 fwy out in the middle of nowhere.
