My beloved granny used to say"morning and health" as a good start for the day. Before going to bed she used to say "we'll see tomorrow if somebody wants it". Both greetings are so appropriate in these weird times. Folk wisdom!!! Take care 🇮🇹🍀🇬🇧
Happy Tuesday, madam.
May this jolly day stay warm and blessed in your presence.

FYI (For Your Information) ‘sleep tight’ actually comes from a time in the past when the bed base was strung with ropes a bit like a hammock: Over time the ropes would loosen and would need to tightening. Therefore, to say sleep tight was to say sleep comfortably as your mattress was supported with the correct tension. To ‘Hit the hay’ comes from the fact that many lower of the poorer people used to stuff their ‘mattresses’ with hay.
Hello Lucy,

I just love your way of expressing and teaching.
Every day, especially in the morning, I receive Good Morning messages from my family and friends. So now I'm here to find out if there's any other way. Thank you
“Morning has broken”! Wow... I love this song.... Cat Steven’s, which is the one I know 😁👍🏼. When I lived in Cambridge, the most usual salutation was simply saying “Morning”!
I love your class because you're perfecting my language.
Very glad to know the different types of good morning and good night 🙏🏻
Rise and shine in my first language *SWAHILI* is "Amka Uangaze" 😅😅 and in my country Tanzania.. it's mostly used in religious settings to mean "Go and be your best self for you and others"
Haha
Beautiful indeed!
Is Swahili used in the Lion King?
😁😁true
@@manigupta2299 indeed it is.. most of the names like "simba" "shenzi" "pumba" and words like "rafiki" are examples.. and in the live action remake.. Beyonce's *SPIRIT* used a Swahili phrase, "Uishi kwa muda mrefu mfalme" which literally translates to "Long live the king"
I usually say; good morning only, but for good night; I love to say; sleep tight, night night, & mostly I love new phrase from you, I have an urgent appointment with bed & pillow. Tnx you❤️
Hey dear teacher. I'm glad that i get good alternatives for using "good morning " thanks for letting me know more.

I love the last one :) We have one in Spanish when you go to sleep, meterse en el sobre, something like to get in the envelope. Slang too.
Lovely lessons, as usual, Lucy! We have a one similar to Bedfordshire in Malaysia. The town is Temerloh, akin to Noddyland 😁
Oh Lucy ,, i really missed you . I am ever so grateful for the cute and endearing lesson. The alternatives were dashing as usual.😊😊😊😊😊
It's really amazing & no body ever think so about good morning / good night in new way.
Your laughter is contagious!! 😍
I love the sayings, thank you very much. I love to learn more.
Did you know... The expression "sleep tight" comes from a time before box springs. Under the matress was a frame, usually wooden, with bits of rope tied from side to side forming a sort of grid to support the mattress. Because rope stretches, it needed to be tightened nightly. Also if the knots weren't tied tight, they would slip and you might end up on the floor! 💜🌞🌵😷
I DID NOT KNOW THIS!!! tHat is soooo coool! thank you for sharing!
Woah! They still use these beds in rural India, called khaats. Didn’t know that’s where the greeting came from, MIND BLOWN!
