    This video helps you learn how to use Advair diskus and other diskus inhalers like Flovent and Serevent.
    Proper use of inhaler is very important for better medicine outcomes. Missing out on a step may lead to inefficient dosage delivery which inadvertently affects your health.
    In case of a dry powdered inhaler (dpi) like Advair, Flovent and Serevent inhaling the medicine quickly and deeply is very important for getting the right dose. The video is precisely timed so that you can practice taking your diskus inhaler whenever you want to take a dose.
    At www.use-inhalers.com/ we provide inhaler instructions for all major asthma inhalers in a fun and interactive way. We have tools that teach you correct breathing technique for your inhaler, help you practice inhaler technique and then test your inhaler technique for better retention. Above all inhaler instructions are available in major languages like English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and many others.
    We offer other inhaler training:

      LOL to your comment. Some people .... the video was fine except why is she turning her head and blowing like she just took a huge bong hit??
      And even in the audio, the instructor repeatedly actually used the word “hit”. “Don’t blow into the device while taking a hit”??? Shouldn’t the appropriate word be “dose”. I found that funny. If you have been using ADVAIR long enough to have a distinct opinion about it,good or bad -and any helpful suggestions,I really would appreciate that.
      Thank you! Lisa Plumlee

    after years of using seretide and ventolin without adequate instruction finally ive learned correct methods! did not know it had to be "loaded" horizontally. Did not know when using a spacer to shake ventolin between each dose - oh and to actually have each dose one at a time. doctors are good at prescribing without adequate education of what to do. Thanks for these videos.

    Is there any taste or smell when the medicine come out? It's my first time using it (I did it exactly like the video) but I wasn't sure if something came out.

    • @amberlarson5766
      @amberlarson5766 2 года назад

      If somebody still needs an answer to this...something does come out but not like a spray. You will taste the medicine rather than feel it. It's the force of your inhale that lets the medicine come out.

      Good point Elizabeth. This video shows the most common way of using a Diskus inhaler. Rinsing of mouth is required if the Diskus inhaler contains steroid based medicine.

    • @Korporaal1
      @Korporaal1 9 лет назад

      If you take a corticosteroid you should rinse your mouth because of a risk of yeast infections. However not all diskus inhalers contain those medications. Salbutamol (Ventolin) for example doesn't have that problem. So, while the technique for using the device remains the same, the advice you give is only applicable in certain situations.

    Advair inhaler is a Dry powder inhaler. You should clean the mouthpiece with a soft tissue. Never wash the mouthpiece or any part of your Advair diskus. Always close the Advair diskus after you take your dose and store it in a dry area in flat position.

      Thank you so much for saying it was a dry powder inhaler. I used it twice not understanding what was happening. After the first time I thought I hadn't done it correctly so I did it again and then realized both times the only thing I noticed was the little gritty taste in my mouth. After the second time I figured well maybe that's the medicine but I really wasn't sure. Thank you

      I was wondering if anyone noticed she turned her head and blew out strenuously-like she just took a massive bong hit. And in the audio,the instructor repeatedly uses the word “hit” in a the descriptions. “Make sure to exhale deeply before taking a hit “ -wouldn’t the most appropriate word be “dose”. Weird. Take care. 🌷
