If I was in charge of remaking this game, not only would I not recast the voice actors, I would not even re-record them. I would use all of the original audio. That means that you can't really add content to the campaign, but that's fine. The reason it's getting a remake is that it is one of the best games of all time. It doesn't need new levels. If you want to make new levels, make a NEW GAME. If you don't think the original game was long enough to satisfy people, then combine the original Master Chief trilogy into one remake. You could add some additional recordings for marines and covenant so that it's not so repetitive. The anniversary edition tried to change the textures and lighting without changing the models and object boundaries, which looked bad and caused glitches. In order to look modern and work well, the models need to be redone from scratch as well as the textures. You could take that opportunity to make some of the maps larger in places, and include more enemies and allies, making the game slightly longer that way. There are places where the scale of the original is just right, and places where it seems like the scale is the result of limited resources. Then I'd add some of the best features from the later Bungie era games and call it a day. Specifically, I'd use the HUD from Halo 3, replace the flashlight with ODST style night vision (my EDC flashlight is better than the Master Cheif's), allow a low level of zoom with any weapon (since it's the helmet that does it), add some of the vehicles and weapons that were added for Halo 2 and 3 (wraith, sword, gauss hog) (but don't nerf the pistol and assault rifle), add vehicle boarding, update the AI and physics, make some of the jackals hold the shield in the other hand, make the hunters a little harder, etc. Halo CE is still very playable. I was playing it yesterday. 343 has never managed to make a game as good as Halo CE still is. If they change it too much, they're going to produce a remake that's not as much fun as the original. The expanded universe fiction was never on the same level as the games. Do not fix things that are already good.

In the mission 343 guilty spark in halo 1 it would be cool if in the remake you play as sergeant johnson with his squad of marines and Captain Keys when they first had contact with the flood. I want to see them flesh out the marines that landed from dropship v-933 and dial up the horror not having a supersuit and being the only one of your team making it out as a black man. The black guy tends to die first in horror movies but sergeant johnson makes it out alive.
Halo 4 and 5 failed because they tried to reinvent Halo for a larger audience, Halo Infinite failed because it was a complete technical mess with not enough resources and manpower to push it over the finish line. People blame that Halo's archaic when Boomer shooters, Doom and Quake remaster still held up great, what needs to happen is that the level design needs to be retweaked and Halo 3 needs to be used as the analogue for which to base all the improvements from.
Man I'm not totally opposed to remakes when they're done well (RE:4, Demon's Souls, Dead Space come to mind) but it would be nice to see something fresh and innovative in the gaming sphere, or even a new installment in an existing franchise that is actually well done. I feel like the gaming industry has been stagnant for over a decade and it makes me miss the old days when games like Halo 2 were surrounded by other incredible games testing new ideas. I wonder if Bluepoint Games would be able to tackle a first person shooter as well as they did Demon's Souls.

If this is from 343 don't expect a game made right the first time. All that needs to be done are texture updates. Leave the audio and physics alone. That's it that's all. They can't do it. If I see "for modern audiences" I'm not buying it. I was in the Infinite beta and I provided feedback and nothing changed. They literally released "beta" gameplay in the final project. Might be fixed now but after realizing my feedback was not accepted and the issues plagued the MP experience I have not touched it since. If they touch my Halo CE wrong I will literally set fire to my collection and film it. I would rather burn those than burn anymore of my money in hopes of a better Halo. I still think they should remake 1-2-3 as a single game. So many people are demanding single player games and long ones at that. A cohesive Halo / Master Chief story (1-3) would be so amazing and I think exactly what fans are hoping to see. It would also be a great way to get non halo fans into the game if they do release it on other platforms.

Copy and paste of a comment on another video covering the same stuff since I didn’t feel like retyping all this: If done right a CE remake could be truly phenomenal, but faith in 343 is at an all time low. The ONLY way I’d be excited for it is if someone else made it (preferably a studio staffed by a bunch of the original devs and various fans/modders. Instead of “hiring people who hated Halo”). In an idealized version of this I’d want story to be akin to the Dead Space/Resident Evil remakes where it’s mostly faithful aside from fixing issues with the original, incorporating extended universe material that didn’t exist at the time, and tying things in with later lore/events to make the thing feel more cohesive. For gameplay I’d want it to be like Ruby’s Rebalanced where the guy refined the sandbox, backported features/aspects from future games where appropriate, did the same thing with cut content to enhance the sandbox, and made minor alterations to level design/combat encounters to enhance the experience (If you haven’t played that mod you need to. It’s the definitive version of the game). I’d also want mini campaigns based on the different events from the extended material. For the multiplayer I’d want it to be mostly the same aside from adding more content, having Forge with campaign ai/multiplayer bots (two things that should’ve been added LONG AGO), and crossplay because the series definitely needs more players. This is what an idealized version of the game would look like. Unfortunately, we most likely wouldn’t get that since the current people heading Halo are beyond incompetent.
Theres been a guy posting upscaled models based on the original CE assets and they look really good, thats how the game needs to be made. You take the CE assets and make them HD and detailed. I do fear super HD flood tho lol

@@pangolin7398 That's an interesting idea, my personal idea is that maybe they should be accessible in your first playthrough, and here's why: when you first play, and you find a terminal, you feel like you found secrets and extra bits of content/lore, that would actually really add to the story, the only thing though is that the developers would have to strategically place the terminals in levels they'd make sense in, and in locations they'd make sense in. What's your take?
@POJOgamingYT The books give us so much of the Master Chief, but all we get from the games are cutscenes and cross hairs. The first person view gives a front row seat to the action, but seeing the character in the environment gives you deeper immersion imo, consider Tomb Raider or GOW or Resident Evil or even Hellblade.

@@pangolin7398 That's an interesting idea, my personal idea is that maybe they should be accessible in your first playthrough, and here's why: when you first play, and you find a terminal, you feel like you found secrets and extra bits of content/lore, that would actually really add to the story, the only thing though is that the developers would have to strategically place the terminals in levels they'd make sense in, and in locations they'd make sense in. What's your take?

@POJOgamingYT The books give us so much of the Master Chief, but all we get from the games are cutscenes and cross hairs. The first person view gives a front row seat to the action, but seeing the character in the environment gives you deeper immersion imo, consider Tomb Raider or GOW or Resident Evil or even Hellblade.

@@kentown8115 Halo CE is one of those games that will always stand the test of time. It's a Master craft and I think it's a one of a kind game, in a genre that's milked to death.
