Ad timing is based on historical observation of how your product performs (sells). That is, there’s no “best practice” on what time of day to run your ads - observe your hourly ad clicks and product conversions over 2-3 months to identify IF a pattern exists that requires time restrictions (aka “day parting”).

Thank you. how do I tell amazon a "tier 1" search term for a listing? Their UI is a cluster fk and changes every few months. I have different UI's for different products for no reason at all. There are so many fields its confusing . Also, how do you look up a search term's results data? the UI is paginated, so do I make rest request and parse it? Seems not so simple. Thanks

Let's break this question down a bit to clarify...
      1. By "how do I tell amazon", referring to where in your product listing do you add in a target search phrase? There's not that many fields in a product listing that matter for relevance to either the organic algorithm or the advertising algorithm. If you've already determined a search phrase is a "tier 1" term for your product (there's now software for this, by the way), start by A-B split testing the phrase in your product title (Amazon Experiments). Back it up with a targeted mix of PPC advertising on the search query.
(the product needs to be comparable in relevance, price and social proof to the competitors you're attempting to beat with this search query)
      2. By "look up a search term's results data" -- are you asking which reports tell you how well your product shows & converts for a search phrase? start with these two reports: Brand Analytics > Search Query Performance report, Advertising Reports > Search Term Impression Share report.
      3. By "the UI is paginated" -- sounds like you'll want to also look on the UI for the Export or Download buttons to move the data table over to Google Sheets or MS Excel for deeper analysis (eg. filtering, sorting or even a pivot table).
Hope these point you in the right direction.

Why do the majority of vendors fall short of making $1 million in sales while a select few make tens of millions each year? @BrianJohnsonPPC

      Natural Selection (mostly)...
Those that put in the time & effort to master a couple of the key tactics have a much better chance at continuing to build their portfolio of products.
Afterwards, staying up to date with information, promotional tactics, technology and person-to-person networking not only survive but thrive.
For instance, in 2023, I've spent a huge amount of resources advancing my access to market intelligence data so I can easily see the gaps in the Amazon marketplace and set a path toward the highest chance of success for each product. It's because I'm in the habit of seeking out the next solution before it becomes a popular solution.
