They're the only K-pop boy group that I'm sure they have the strongest voice and the best Hight note Live that they don't need to sync at all.
I'm really proud of the song in 2014, but EXO is EXO's vocal group. I've never seen a new group whose debut was as amazing as EXO. There is a famous phrase that says, "If everyone was looking for talent and not trend, they would have become EXO fans."
That's right. But you know what's funny? We like them for the talent, but they always end up setting the trend. So we got both either way. Exo is just ahead of their time
Their live performance in concert is insane
Groups with 8 years of experience can perform the song, but EXO was a young group and a new group. However, the company offers them difficult songs. If you notice carefully, you will understand what I say. EXO's songs are 90% of their voices are 10% of the music. They sing throughout the song and perfectly while other groups 90% of the music is so EXO are perfect since their debut
You must look that the song is in 2014 and they were very young but hear their voices!! It's crazy! How can young children sing so powerfully!!! As for a new group and only EXO kids who are born with great voices, it's the truth
thank you so much again for reacting to EXO. Overdose was the first song I heard from them, it was right after it was released. It was 2014 and nobody did it like EXO, I was shocked and obsessed with them. Today, almost 8 years later and I can say that there is still no one like them. It's not just about popularity, but the sounds, the dances, the vocals, are amazing and timeless. I HIGHLY recommend you check out their live performances, I guarantee there's nothing like it, it's superior to the MVs.

When gadgets and Internet were not a thing back then, Overdose is a song we oftenly hear on radios...The live performance of Overdose in every show will always be epic. This album received numerous awards.
Since 2012 until now, even with the emergence of new groups, none of them compete with EXO in Vocals, hight note and Visuals. They are the only K-pop group that has all these things! It is the truth that no one can deny
In EXO's "Overdose" MV what you saw is that the members have been trapped in a maze by the Red Force and they are trying to use their superpowers to escape the maze. For example, in the Korean version you see Chen throw a beam of light which is an example of them using their powers. Chen has the power to control lightning so he tossed a lightning bolt to Lay who has the power of healing. Lay is the only one who could have caught that light beam without being injured because Lay has the power of healing and he can heal himself.
So, the story in the MV is pretty much the members trying to summon their powers to try and escape from the maze.The box that D.O. had at the beginning of the MV was full of dirt. D.O.'s superpower is the power of earth or dirt and it gives him super strength or force, so he was using the sand to build his strength back up. (It was a small wooden box, not the solid clear glass cube you saw in "Tempo," I'm pretty sure those are two seperate things.) The other members were also trying to use their powers of teleportation, fire, light, etc.
In the beginning when you see the EXO-K members making that picture while standing on each other, they are forming their hexagon symbol which is EXO's official symbol. (In the M version, you will notice it's different members.) The different sets you see, are thought to be different rooms within the maze, or maybe alternate realities or time periods created by the Red Force to lure the EXO members to them.
Also something to note, you see Kai in the beginning and end of the MV in the Korean version because he is the center and visual of EXO-K. However, in the Mandarin version you will see Luhan fills that same role because he is the center and visual of EXO-M. Plus, Kai and Luhan were each others' power counterparts as well. So this establishes the connections between EXO-K and EXO-M. Kai and Luhan were supposed to have a bond that connected the two groups and made them one as part of EXO's storyline.
How EXO worked back when they were split up into the two groups was that all the members were in both MVs, but the K members were featured more prominently in the K version of the song and the M members were featured in the M version. As you saw, in the EXO-K version of "Overdose" the K members sing the main parts of the song and they are the first group of 6 you see. (When you see them revisit the same sets in the MV the group you see is the 6 EXO-M members.) If you watch the Mandarin version, you will see the M members take over the main parts of the song and the K members are the ones you see second. So, even when the MVs look the same, they will always be slightly different because the members are assigned different parts in each MV.
For example, in the Korean version, the EXO-K rappers (Chanyeol and Sehun) are the ones that are part of the rap section. If you watch the Mandarin version, you will see Kris, Xiumin and Tao are the rappers because they are EXO-M's rappers. Tao is also the martial artist of the group, so he is the one that does the flips and stunts in EXO's routines. And the main vocal parts and high notes are done by Baekhyun in the Korean version, but in the Mandarin version that part is Chen's because he is EXO-M's main vocalist, etc.
At the end of the MV we discover that the maze has only one way in and no way out. Which I think is meant to represent and mirror the fact that they are saying they are trapped by love and once you are in there is no way out. The maze was also EXO's logo for this album and it is shaped like EXO's hexagon symbol.
Although, in the song they're not overdosing on anything except love. As the English lines in the song say: "So bad, no one can stop her ... her love, her love (is) fantasy ... Oh she wants me, Oh she's got me ... Oh she hurts me ... someone call the doctor ... (her love makes me) overdose ... too much of your love makes me overdose ... too much overdose ... You're in my heart ... with you I can't stop", etc. This song is kind of a love song about how powerful love can be that it feels like no matter how much you try to resist it you keep getting pulled back in like a drug.
However, for the storyline in the MV there might be a little more at play than just being drugged by love. Some theories say that the story in "Overdose" is connected to the story in their "Lucky One" MV. In "Overdose" the members get trapped in the maze and they can't find their way out. The red light represents the Red Force who have trapped them in the maze. It is thought that the maze causes the members to get disoriented and sort of become incapacitated so they are unable to defend themselves. The maze dulls their senses and makes it so they lose the ability to use their powers at full strength, etc.
The theory speculates that sometime after the end of the "Overdose" MV, EXO gets captured or transferred from the maze and brought to the government facility by the Red Force and that is why we see them in a hospital-like setting in their "Lucky One" MV. In the story in the "Lucky One" MV the members are drugged and they are being experimented on to discover what makes them so special. In "Lucky One" the members use their powers to break free from the facility. And this is where some theories connect the story in "Lucky One" to the story in their "Ko Ko Bop" MV. One theory is that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is them trying to detox from the drugs they were given in the government facility in "Lucky One" and the blue Ko Ko Bop drink Suho mixes and the members drink is supposed to counteract the effects of the drugs in their system. That is why they act so out of it and in a drugged state in "Ko Ko Bop."
As you can see all of the stories in EXO's MVs are connected. We just have to pay close attention to every detail and put the pieces together.
"Overdose" came out in 2014 and this is one of the last MVs where all 12 members are part of the song and MV. (Kris left the group right after this MV was released and Luhan will leave within the next 6 months.)
You should watch the Mandarin versions of "Overdose," as well. :D If you watch EXO-M's version of "Overdose" you will understand why we say even though they may seem like they are similar MVs, there are distinct differences between the Korean and Mandarin versions that are important to EXO's storyline.
Plus, I think you may even enjoy the Mandarin version of the song just as much, or more.

GROWL was actually famous to pretty much every countries that listens to even a bit of kpop. it was basically the next most popular kpop song after psy that time. heck in my country every people knows at least the beat of growl without even knowing what kpop is.
EXO had been so incredibly amazing since pre-debut! They always come up with something new and different in their MVs, but all of which remain tied up to their main concept as aliens. EXO is a group with 8 korean & 4 chinese members. The members that does activities in korea are called EXO-K & and the members that does activities in china are called EXO-M(other times they do it as 12). But they stopped addressing themselves as EXO-M & EXO-K when 3 chinese members left the group. The only one chinese member thats in the group went back to china. And now he is the CEO of his own company but still is a part of exo(but because of his schedule he cant perform with exo at lots of time). It was this(overdose) era when the chinese members started leaving. We rarely see exo as complete 9.

You do have to see "Mama." But you have to watch the original, I think it's like 12 minutes long. But you will understand when you watch it. It was their Debut song, and the very quickly established a storyline. But if you was EXO-K's version, you have to watch EXO-M's version as well. They are both connected.
As for the "Box" they are in, that's was an SM thing. They put all their artists in "boxes" at the time. And to correct something u said, their song "Growl" at one point was consider "The Nations Song," the BBS "I want it that Way" was known but not deemed the nation's song. There is another song that was deemed "Korea's national anthem," and that was Girl's Generation's song called "Into The New World." These songs are very loved in Korea.
As for EXO's storyline...they started out great...and like what SM is known for, just dropped it for a number of videos...and will throw a video in there that is connected but isn't consistent. The last video that was connected to their storyline was "Obsession." However, before that I can't remember what was the last video connected to it. SM does throw connections to the storyline into non related videos like Super M's "Jopping" or Kai's debut solo "Mhmmm." It very confusing...SM really dropped the ball on this one...but they are known for good music, but treating their idols like crap....its just ridiculous, these idol needs better treatment.
One last thing, if u haven't seen "Monster," by EXO, perhaps you should.
