Another curious fact about this trip is that when Truman arrived and said "How do you do, Dutra?" the Brazilian president replied: "How tru you tru, Truman?" He probably didn't know enough English to know that that had been a greeting and therefore assumed that the US president was being silly.

A piada é boa, mas não passa disso. Inventaram essa história para dizer que o presidente brasileiro era burro e subserviente ao americano.
Cara, olha como a Presidente Vargas era LIMPA. Sério, tudo bem planejadinho, sem aquela fiação por cima, com canteiros de flores, toda bonitinha... visito o Centro com certa frequência e não consigo deixar de pensar;
