Love that green! Glad Kona backed up their warranty and you'll be set with a new bike. Re that small crack at the seat cluster, you might be able to find a shop that can repair it, then get a repaint. Happy trails!
Hey @Mike-vd2qt, thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments! I'm pleased with Kona and the new frame. As far as the Wozo frame goes, that bad weld has been there since day one and has survived everything I've thrown at it and it hasn't gotten worse. As far as I'm concerned, I don't see any reason to repair the frame. I'll keep a close eye on it and if gets worse I'll look into getting it repaired. 🙌
Thank you @jimthielen9128! I'm sure the green will grow on me over time. I like your taste in color combinations! I'd love to see a pic of your Salsa Blackborow 😉
Glad Kona came thru, new frame looks great, love the color! Bummer on the difference on rear hub spacing, but the 197mm will be great. Off the top of my head the Surly Wednesday is the only other current bike that uses the 177mm spacing. Cool that Kona didn’t require the cracked frame back, or proof of destruction.
Yes, I was very pleased that Kona honored their lifetime frame warranty! The green is starting to grow on me. Not sure how I feel about the wider rear spacing. I guess I'll figure that out once I'm able to actually ride it. I don't understand the advantages or disadvantages of a wider rear hub? I guess there are pros and cons to everything! You've got a lot more knowledge in that department than I do @ElevationEveryWeekend! Perhaps you could make a video on that if you haven't already done so? I was super surprised that Kona didn't want the frame back, or proof of destruction!! It'll be nice to have a spare bike going forward 😊
@@OldManFatBike I think there are really only two advantages to the 197mm rear end. It usually means more tire clearance for bigger tires (if you want/need it) and it’s by far the most common rear spacing out there now so has the most support. The 177mm will be a bit more nimble, which probably is better for your riding style and conditions, but I think you will adjust just fine once you can get the Enve’s converted over! I guess technically the greater spoke triangulation of the wider rear spacing is stronger too (think Boost spacing concept for MTB’s), but I doubt the 177mm was anywhere near deficient in that aspect.
Hi just seen your recent vid, love the frame colour, your looking well, hope family are good, I'm like you building a bike ,Titus 29er, can't wait to see yours, take care
Wow, that was a lot of information in a short span, too bad you have to wait till August as excited as you are about it., but I am pretty sure it will be worth the wait
Glad to see you Jenns.I'm happy to see you got the new frame & enjoying the biking.I am doing good,I have a couple of motorcycles I like riding, though still have my 2019 Trech Farley 9 with 4.0 tires fat bike that has the "oldman" fatbike sticker on it.I need to ride it this summer.God bless ya. Scotty 🙂
Welcome back @scottsoffroad! I'd love to see a picture of your 2019 Trek Farley 9 with the Old Man Fat Bike sticker on it! I don't recall getting a pic. If you could send me couple pictures I'll stick them in a future video of mine! Just go to my RUclips channel and click on the "ABOUT" tab and you'll be able to see my email address. Just a little FYI horizontal pictures look better in the video than those taken vertically 😉🍻
Love the green Old Man. Like the other commentators said, get the bad weld repaired, do a metal flake blue, and you'll be golden for a very long time, ( if you know what I mean ). 😉
Thanks a bunch @chuckmoll1611!! At this point I don't see any reason to repair the frame, considering it has been there since day one. I'll keep a close eye on it and if gets worse I'll look into getting it repaired. Stay safe and Fat out there!!
Love the new bike and color. While you have some time before you can finish the build you can change the color of your wheel decals again. Did you hit your head on something before this video ? telling your wife you weren't going to ever buy another bike. Come to your senses Jen's. 🤣🤣
That green is starting to look better and better each day @JustRideZipp2001! As a matter of fact, I actually did hit my head on the ground a couple days before I made this video! I've managed to come to my senses since!! 🤣 Thanks again for stopping by and putting a smile on my face mang!! ✌️
Correct you are @AnthonytonyAdventureChannel, I'm itching to ride it! Happy to hear you're taking possession of a new Fatty this week! New bike day is SUPER EXCITING!! 😊👍🙌
Since you get to keep the Wozo, a welding shop with a TIG welder should easily be able to make a nice looking repair to the frame and be as good as new. Then you can have 2 reliable fatties. I spent years doing fabrication and welding and have done a lot of aluminum so I know a nice repair will last and hardly be noticeable if you can match the paint. I do love the new frame and that color is the bomb. I love it ✌

@@OldManFatBike the green of your new frame looks like Jaguargreen. Usually old Jaguar cars had this special dark green colour so that anyone could easily recognize the car brand.
love the color. what did you do about the weld? all you need to do is sandblast the area and have a good aluminum welder re-do it. try not the thrash the new one so hard.

That's awesome, thanks so much for the offer @caddysfattyadventures4370! I really do appreciate that. I've decided to just wait until I get my I9 hub. I'll just keep chugging along on the Wozo for now. Thanks again!!
