Vivekananda's mother was not ill but they had bad financial situation after his father's sudden demise , so she told Vivekananda to meet Sri Ramakrishna and pray for kali about wellness of thier family
But when Vivekananda saw kali maa he couldn't ask anything for himself or his family but for divine knowledge and higher realisation.

To liken someone like this with someone of the stature and brilliance of the great Vivekanandjee is akin to comparing gold - coated brass with pure diamond, respectively ! It goes without saying that someone like this has to be reborn several times over so as to be able to fit into the shoes of the great Vivekanandjee, who was an epitome of simplicity, humility, sagacity, and wisdom !

Actually this is an example for many people, if we want to do something big there will be a phase where many emotions will tackle us but we shouldn't stop we should go forward strongly no matter what .
This is called commitment, like soldiers are told not to attach sentiments with family and personal pleasure because their responsibility is bigger than that. It will only hold them back. This is the sacrifice they all made and we bow down for that. 🙏🙏🙏

Seriously, we praise great people for their sacrifices to achieve their greatness, but we never think about the people around them who have to sacrifice with the great people. Great people atleast sacrifice voluntarily, but their family, friends, their close ones may not be doing so voluntarily.

Thank you for explaining this. It makes me unterstand my own life's work better. I am nobody, I work because there is work to be done, and I don't get satisfaction from it. At times I ponder how it would be nice to retreat from the world and attend to spiritual practice only, because I am done playing in the world and looking for fun or love or whatever. But I always feel it would be a waste to do that. Since I have a life and many abilities to assist others I feel I should remain in the world and work, just because that is what is needed. So I work and I guess it serves someone in a meaningful way and I'll never know or get anything out of it. Just in the entirety of Devi's play it means something somehow and that's reason enough to keep doing my work.

@@jet5995 we are constantly creating new karma and impressions from our thoughts on earth. A true guru removes this veil of ignorance and helps us to rise spiritually above these impressions So that we can finish our karmic cycles and hence the need for reincarnation.

I think that Swami Vivekananda went to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa to pray for improvement of financial condition of His family. His mother was not ill as such at that point of time.

Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, was once telling a story to disciples.
RKP: There was a married man, fed up of his wife, went to forest, to do tapasya, living all behind. He built a small hut and started to live in that, meditating every day. He had very few clothes, pair of kaupin (underwear of cloth only), shirt and towel. One day he found his clothes damaged by rats. He brought new clothes, again rats damaged them. Now he brought a cat. Cat caught few rats and ate up. Cat started mianu, mianvu, bcoz it was hungry. So to feed that cat, he brought one cow. Now with cow's milk cat happy. He arranged a lady to look after cow, feeding, cleaning cow dung and milking the cow. Now, is it possible to do any tapasya for this sage?. He started his living with new family members. Isn't it same for, those who found there spouses in Ashram?.

The story holds out a deep philosophy of living. Bramhacharya & meditation is not for everybody ; never for the people with a single desire. When the " I" is cut, only then one can sacrifice the self for the service of others.

My Mother is very old and i start to feel her live. 2 years i feel ill, because so much problems in the live of my mother, my neighbors, all the people all around. I cant breath about the human being all around.

In Swami Vivekananda biography when Ramakrishna was suffering cancer he was told why he didnt asked Maa Kali for help for which he replied.......that is not how my relation with Kali works.

This is not the right story! Anyone can go and read the original story. When did Ramakrishna say exactly that? He asked Vivekananda that all your miseries will be gone if you ask mother Kali! Vivekananda was not a believer at that time of mother Kali. Ramakrishna did not stop him, he encouraged him to ask mother for his family's welfare, etc... it was Naren who could not ask those things! Twice he came back asking "Light, Devotion, and Viveka" instead of material wishes.. he simply forgot, and Ramakrishna sent him back, he couldn't do it even in his third and last attempt. At that moment, Ramakrishna felt proud realizing that he found a divine soul who wouldn't ask for a personal favor, so he blessed that Naren's family will be ok.
I believe in Sadhguru and his teachings. He is not only a yogi who tells us the important way of life and how we should conduct it but at the same time he do social service to the underprevilged people and for me thats the purest thing which one can do.
He leads the life which he say he believes. Thats why he the supreme guru in our times.
I also have a immense faith and believe in Mother Kali.

I just want to come and live here for my whole lifetime. I don't know why i am crying when Sadhguru ji talking. I don't know what should i do to go to Ashram and how i convince my parents.
Such an incident never ever took place. The real incident is not even a faint reference to this. This is wrong however well intentioned it may be. People should cross verify this themselves - either through Ramakrishna Vivekananda literature or clarify from Ramakrishna Math - Chennai or Belur. In a nutshell , post Vivekananda's fathers death - when he asked his Guru to pray to Kali Maa for his family's well being - SriRamakrishna simply asked Vivekananda to pray to her (Kali Maa) himself and he further added that SHE(Kali Maa) will grant him whatever he prays. However what repeatedly transpired whenever Vivekananda entered Kali Maa's temple for such a prayer is something every body should read. Whenever he did try - he forgot about what he wanted. It was Sri Ramakrishna who repeatedly sent him again and again asking him not to forget what he must pray. In short - the conclusion is that Swami Vivekananda himself could never really ask for material wishes from Kali Maa and subsequently post repeated such failed attempts - SriRamakrishna himself - his guru - actually blessed his family and granted his prayer. The meaning of this whole story is not needed for this comment but request people - real seekers to verify themselves.

Yes indeed, such of us acquainted with the Ramakrishna Vivekananda literature, have only known what you described. Swamiji was disturbed by his family's poverty and other adversities after his father's death. He wanted his Guru to relieve him of this constant worry. One doesn't see him requesting the Guru to cure his mother in any one instance, that would have made him quite unfit.

You are right indeed.... the story (as he narrates) is slightly over-colored, cause Ramakrishna never reprimanded him for asking anything ...in fact Thakur asked him to pray for whatever he needed back then ... despite his desperate need for materialistic gains ...however he couldn't !!!!. But that's all where the over-coloring discrepancy ends; as as sadhguru rightly said the "trajectory" had to be set ..so the necessary molding had to be done ... that was just one of the trigger point (there were many others though)

From past few months I was wondering why his intensity has gone down, he is not the same as used to be around 3-4 years back, but the metaphor of sun used by him gave me the answer.
Its not noon anymore.
At 15:11 he also said "I am not yet in the sunset stage" and he further goes saying "but I'm heading that way". So may be he is trying to tell us all that he isn't literally in the sunset stage yet but he is slowly moving towards that direction!

I haven't seen that video,
But Sadhguru has always talked about energy centres, like the 7th hill in Velliangiri mountains or the Himalayas.
And he has always said that these energy centres will remain as such even if earth doesn't exist.
So in that sense he might referring to Dhyanalinga or the IYC as whole as the crystal City.
I am not sure though.

Our is the only country in the world blessed to have great Philosophers, Scholars, Poets and Philonthrpists in the past. They left us many things and this could be propagated among us by a great Philosopher like Satguru in this century.
The truly enlightened postpone their liberation until all are enlightened. Vivekananda's prayer for his mother was a desire to bear his mother's burden.

In his book death the inside story he says that after leaving his body his presence will be more profound so there is no need to be sad by the fact that someday he'll leave his body coz he says this body is a restriction for him in some ways but once he's free from this you can feel his presence in much more powerful way.

The dilemma event happened long back between two mahatmas. Any body who analyze a topical issue happened in someone's life should have lived in that period and should have been present closely at that point of happening. Or anyone among the two mahatmas who were part of that dilemma event should by themselve explain the background. Instead others explaining about a topical event happened in some other's life will lead nowhere.
The speaker could have been humble enough in mentioning the names of those two mahatmas- atleast should have used "Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda" while referring them, becas both are adored by the whole world. Their teachings lead the followers surely towards the right destination.

Neither Swami Vivekananda's mother fell ill nor he went to Sri Ramakrishna for his mother's cure from illness. Dragon's bite

Thank you, all you eternal enlightened ones walking the path for all to follow. Thank you Sadhguru for making them all come alive to me. Above was written some twenty -twentyfive years ago when I had a bout of wanting to magic to be a real thing. Now it has become that and I dedicate the Poem to Sadhguru. He is that dragon that I wrote about all those years ago.

Yes Vivekananda philosophy was don’t believe any thing like atma ,parmatma etc .these thing are said because someone has experienced it so when u experience it only then you believe .it is good to become nastik without having the experience of atma ,parmatma etc and talking about it .
He said 99.99% people don’t believe god but only show that they believe because if they believed then they would give 100% to see them and Donot do unnecessary debate and tAlk

To be clear in ones dedication... society will create such subtle pressures....not to be torn between two contrary masters....a true guru will see the bigger picture for every souls potential...the real value of sacrifice....it can seem strange to the conventional mind. Service..to be that divine conduit...aaaah such a thing...only the complete can serve most purely....in the meantime we can all aspire....at least have the most alert and mindful attention..to every nuance of every action..Power to Sathguru..to see him as more than just an entertainment...this is a precious life we have...this is a great opportunity!

After 2000 years of civilization, why do people are so hungry? Why don't they get proper education and health? Why don't everybody isn't assured of good life? We have to make social and political reforms that ensure everyone is safe and secure in the whole world. We have to make a structure where everybody is well fed and happy. Is it possible to make that structure like Bharathiyar told?
