such a cool tutorial / concept. Usually I enjoy the shifting and experimenting with Music and sounds "manually" - but this grid can really be a great time saver
Pretty cool! I may try to mess around with it some, but I've been doing this manually for so long (since around 2000) that I'm really good at it and fast as well. Maybe if I'm having issues with a particular piece of music I'll see how Fairlight handles it. Bookmarking this video for that reason. :)
I think you should do a video on fairlights automation at some point so few know about it :), or even a whole series on fairlight it has become a great piece of software:)
Super cool. Currently over my head, but I can see how I'll be able to use it for future projects. Tied loosely to this is a tutorial suggestion: The "Select Range Tool" has been removed in Resolve 18.1. It was replaced by the "Focus Mode" tool however if one searches in Google and RUclips ZERO information comes up. I just talked to support at Blackmagic and they cannot find any info on this new tool either. Searching the new Resolve 18.1 manual for "Focus Mode" has ZERO results. Please do a tutorial on how to use the tool and how in 18.1 to do the looping, as the tool that you used (Select Range Tool) is not there anymore. Thank you
I think Fairlight needs to use some of that AI and add a tempo tap function. Sure would make things easier. I am impressed that you counted the bars correctly. I have watched a lot of youTubers count wrongly - which is why the AI should be considered. It could actually analyse the tempo by itself. Also wouldn't it be good if those grids ( if they were dead on ) be able to be seen on the edit or cut page - so you can then cut or drop your images on the beat? I hope they add some improvements like that.
Thank you for this video, with your clear and thorough explanations. I find this feature very unimpressive and with little use for my needs, as I am always working on and teaching music-image articulation, and this really does not bring anything useful when you are adapting a music to an editing or an editing to a music.
@@rippleguys I am not a musician, but I think I basically understand. However, when telling Fairlight that there were 4 bars, shouldn’t the endpoint have been AFTER 4,2,3,4. You put the endpoint at the beginning of 4,2,3,4 (ie just as you said the 1st 4 in the 4th beat). Please clarify for me. Thanks.
thank you so so so much for this video! you don't even know

Thanks Steve, and happy holidays to you and your family.

Mark, to my ears that didn’t sound smooth. Almost like there was a double beat between the two clips.
Thanks Steve!
PERFECT!
BRILLIANT

How do I actually apply it to the video?
At 4:43 you lost me at 1,2,3,4 2,2,3,4 3,2,3,4 4. What number system is that?🤪
Bars and Beats -

@@apeel2008 you are correct - I counted 4 but ended at the first count of the fourth bar - so technically 3 bars
@@rippleguys Thanks for the clarification. Appreciate you content!
@@rippleguys Ah, there's vid on Y2 for that. Now I understand. Thanks.
!!!!
Wasn't smooth at all in my opinion. It sounds like you just copy pasted it.
thanks I appreciate that.
