I've always liked the FRS/BRZ, but you're getting ripped off with the price for one of those in comparison to this in terms of looks and power. Sure, Toyota/Subaru have a desirable badge but c'mon, 350hp, 6spd, RWD!
Absolutely. I got my '16 FRS new, and by autumn I was already disappointed in the lack of engine. (my previous car was a V-6 Solara with the same HP and number of pedals, it was way more fun to accelerate in that car.) I've long felt it isn't worth what I'm paying. But then... the chassis response... life's tough choices / first world problems lol

Agreed, that sounds really high. I had a 2003 Mustang GT when I was in my mid 20's. I paid around $1500 a *year* for comprehensive coverage. I'm in my mid 30's now and have a 2016 Mustang GT (premium, pp) and I pay less than $600 a year for insurance. I do have a clean driving record, and I have yet to make an insurance claim. So presumably that helps.

Hyundai is making really good cars these days, Better than most anyway. Nissan isn't that good anymore and Honda doesn't make a real sports car nor does Toyota. Subaru is too conservative with style while Mitsubishi isn't very reliable, and for some reason people leave out Mazda. So hell yeah I'd buy a Hyundai before any of those.
the best thing about a v6 in a 370z and Gen Coupe is it feels like one of the last ACTUAL sports cars. Everything else you feel high up in, and it feels like a completely untossable around the turns boat. Also these v6s love super chargers or TT's and that would be the most fun with one of these cars. These cars are very balanced and have a little bit of everything to them, from amazing head turning looks, to a pretty damn good interior, nice seats, incredible handling, decent MPG, good power, and sound fantastic.
I have owned 3 genesis coupes, moved on now. 1st one i was 25 years old, 2010 2.0t paid $75 a month with geico, $110 for my second one, 2010 3.8 track and my last one was a 2011 rspec 2.0t and i paid $65 a month for that one. Full coverage on all, not married, i dont own a house, no accidents, 1 speeding ticket, took it to court, got it cleared. I live in Houston. Tx.

Since 2009 they've had adaptive cruise control (keeps distance, stops automatically, warns you if you drift off your lane, just no automatic steering). No Honda had anything like that back when Hyundai had it, they've only added some tech features now in 2016. Right now if you want a fast car or sports car in north America, you have the type r civic, accord coupe v6 and nothing else, nothing with rwd or awd. Hyundai has the rwd genesis coupe with 348hp, genesis sedan with over 300 v6 or over 400hp v8, rwd and awd and Equus v8. Honda also has no luxury cars or anything with luxury materials or features until this year. They've been way behind for decades because they focused too much on cheap cars without even basic things like heated seats memory seats or steering wheels.

For me my 2nd choice, WRX, ended up pleasing me over the STI. As in the video, I couldnt afford to do bigger mods if I had gotten the STI. Now with my WRX I am close to my power goal and within engine and tranny limitations. But these are essentially the same car.

My uncle sold his Evo and bought a S2000. I thought that was absurd. Today, the S2000 is currently boosted and a super fun car around the corners. Overall, do what you want and feels right.
To all you guys whining about insurance it depends on where you live the car what coverage your state requires you to carry. Your deductible if you want towing, glass, rental and roadside assistance coverage. Males under 25 in AZ cost more to insurance than Females the same age. And for an insurance agent for the past 6 years I have seen nothing but increases in AZ not to sure about other states.

Because they are so damn heavy. My girlfriend has a 2.0 turbo Gen Coupe and it is nearly 3500 lbs. The auto transmissions in the 2.0t isn't nearly as bad as the 6 speed in the 3.8s. If it were my choice, I would have went with the FRS that he was talking about due to my experiences with the Gen Coupe. They are heavy, wide, piss poor in the rain/snow, and that damn wastegate rattle in the turbo models is annoying.
300 HP from a twin-turbo V-8 it's like a 400 pound guy on steroids that brags about bench-pressing 100 pounds... you can get 305 HP from a properly built honda K24 block and K20 heads if you put it together right, and that's NATURALLY ASPIRATED (not to mention a civic sedan or RSX is about 1000 lbs. lighter that a genesis coupe) and that shit would still be MILES cheaper to build and would be fuck all to insure (sub 3-liter N/A engine VS. twin turbo v-8 ANY insurance agent would agree) i mean... picking this car apart is like being a mosquito at a nudist colony, if i knew where to start i sure as shit would not know where to STOP!!!

Why does it have to be 2009 or newer? s2000's are very well made and their age takes nothing away from them. Have you actually owned or driven an s2000? It WILL change your perspective of Honda.
They have potential! with the new turbo engines. They're coming back into the sports car game. But right now they're only real sports cars are the Type R sold in Japan and the NSX which isn't in an ideal price range. Once they use that turbo in a rwd platform they'll be right in the Genesis/FR-S territory and kicking ass in the market again.

Thats insane about the insurance, especially about the EVO. I have a 2004 GTO and a 2007 TBSS and mine is only $102/month for both with full coverage. Im 27 though, not sure how old you are. Then again, I bought the GTO when I was 24 and I think my insurance was about the same for that and my malibu that I had then. Maybe a pinch higher.
But that's a Mustang and even cheaper than that is the 2006 through 2008 bmw m5. Comes with a v10 all you need is a 500 dollar flash on the ecu and you've got yourself a 500hp v10 monster stock for right at 20k and it'll dust that 5.0 mustang.
I own a G37s with Aerodynamic package and it's really a nice car. I respect the Genesis but I think it used a lot of the G styling on it. Before I bought my G, I looked at a Genesis as well and was not pleased with the interior at all. The paddle shifters felt like it was going to break when I clicked it. The Genesis is a tad bit faster but the G wins in regards of luxury refinement. Still 2 great cars though.

This isn't true. You aren't anymore likely to crash if you drive your car proper.. It rains OFTEN where I live, and gets decent snow in the winter- especially with how much I go near the mountains. When I had my evo, it gave me a level of confidence that was quickly abused. That's what happens when you get into a fucking race car with AWD. The evo CAN drive in the snow, but the AWD really shines on paved, clean roads.. Not to mention, you talk about mitsu having a great track record but just about anyone besides and evo/dsm fanboi would disagree. They discontinued their only remaining vehicle that could be considered anything other than a grocery getter. Evo's certainly were their best car, but mitsu has a terrible history as far as engineering for the long term. Sold the evo and bought a chevelle. AKA, I grew up.

Payments are only bad if you're getting the raw end of the pricing negotiations and/or have awful credit.

It's the performance trim level, but 2014 or 2015 and up r specs have cruise control standard. The higher level trims had cruise from the beginning

the best thing about a v6 in a 370z and Gen Coupe is it feels like one of the last ACTUAL sports cars. Everything else you feel high up in, and it feels like a completely untossable around the turns boat. Also these v6s love super chargers or TT's and that would be the most fun with one of these cars. These cars are very balanced and have a little bit of everything to them, from amazing head turning looks, to a pretty damn good interior, nice seats, incredible handling, decent MPG, good power, and sound fantastic.

I have owned 3 genesis coupes, moved on now. 1st one i was 25 years old, 2010 2.0t paid $75 a month with geico, $110 for my second one, 2010 3.8 track and my last one was a 2011 rspec 2.0t and i paid $65 a month for that one. Full coverage on all, not married, i dont own a house, no accidents, 1 speeding ticket, took it to court, got it cleared. I live in Houston. Tx.

Since 2009 they've had adaptive cruise control (keeps distance, stops automatically, warns you if you drift off your lane, just no automatic steering). No Honda had anything like that back when Hyundai had it, they've only added some tech features now in 2016. Right now if you want a fast car or sports car in north America, you have the type r civic, accord coupe v6 and nothing else, nothing with rwd or awd. Hyundai has the rwd genesis coupe with 348hp, genesis sedan with over 300 v6 or over 400hp v8, rwd and awd and Equus v8. Honda also has no luxury cars or anything with luxury materials or features until this year. They've been way behind for decades because they focused too much on cheap cars without even basic things like heated seats memory seats or steering wheels.

For me my 2nd choice, WRX, ended up pleasing me over the STI. As in the video, I couldnt afford to do bigger mods if I had gotten the STI. Now with my WRX I am close to my power goal and within engine and tranny limitations. But these are essentially the same car.

To all you guys whining about insurance it depends on where you live the car what coverage your state requires you to carry. Your deductible if you want towing, glass, rental and roadside assistance coverage. Males under 25 in AZ cost more to insurance than Females the same age. And for an insurance agent for the past 6 years I have seen nothing but increases in AZ not to sure about other states.

Because they are so damn heavy. My girlfriend has a 2.0 turbo Gen Coupe and it is nearly 3500 lbs. The auto transmissions in the 2.0t isn't nearly as bad as the 6 speed in the 3.8s. If it were my choice, I would have went with the FRS that he was talking about due to my experiences with the Gen Coupe. They are heavy, wide, piss poor in the rain/snow, and that damn wastegate rattle in the turbo models is annoying.

you can get 305 HP from a properly built honda K24 block and K20 heads if you put it together right, and that's NATURALLY ASPIRATED (not to mention a civic sedan or RSX is about 1000 lbs. lighter that a genesis coupe) and that shit would still be MILES cheaper to build and would be fuck all to insure (sub 3-liter N/A engine VS. twin turbo v-8 ANY insurance agent would agree) i mean...

They have potential! with the new turbo engines. They're coming back into the sports car game. But right now they're only real sports cars are the Type R sold in Japan and the NSX which isn't in an ideal price range. Once they use that turbo in a rwd platform they'll be right in the Genesis/FR-S territory and kicking ass in the market again.

I own a G37s with Aerodynamic package and it's really a nice car. I respect the Genesis but I think it used a lot of the G styling on it. Before I bought my G, I looked at a Genesis as well and was not pleased with the interior at all. The paddle shifters felt like it was going to break when I clicked it. The Genesis is a tad bit faster but the G wins in regards of luxury refinement. Still 2 great cars though.

This isn't true. You aren't anymore likely to crash if you drive your car proper.. It rains OFTEN where I live, and gets decent snow in the winter- especially with how much I go near the mountains. When I had my evo, it gave me a level of confidence that was quickly abused. That's what happens when you get into a fucking race car with AWD. The evo CAN drive in the snow, but the AWD really shines on paved, clean roads..
Not to mention, you talk about mitsu having a great track record but just about anyone besides and evo/dsm fanboi would disagree. They discontinued their only remaining vehicle that could be considered anything other than a grocery getter. Evo's certainly were their best car, but mitsu has a terrible history as far as engineering for the long term.

Time is money, and that is something that is incredibly huge in the industry I am in, so it's easier for me to evaluate something like this. Another thing that is huge in general is credit. Having a car payment really helps with credit, especially for people that are younger or not as established in their financial history (which are most people).
Payments are only bad if you're getting the raw end of the pricing negotiations and/or have awful credit.
