@Wilson Nascimento This is actually a pretty neat synopsis of TFS Trunks. I also like how this changes him when he gets back to the future. He learns from Goku, Gohan and Vegeta's failures in a natural way. It's really subtle, but you notice the little changes from him becoming less optimistic and openly heroic to a more down to business attitude.
God, the way these guys write Cell like an abusive romantic partner who's always creepy and possessive and then gets pissed and starts threatening his other when they don't do what he likes is the greatest tiptoe between hilarious and creepy that I've ever seen

No it hasn't. This is the Cell Games Saga. It's only been going on for like 10 months. You're lumping like 4 separate sagas together. (The Android Saga, Imperfect Cell Saga, Perfect Cell Saga, and the Cell Games Saga.) Technically speaking, these aren't one story arc.
Well they're all different arcs in one big saga I think. DBZ has 4 sagas (Saiyan, Frieza, Cell and Buu) which are all comprised of multiple arcs (like in this case the Android arc, Imperfect Cell arc, etc.). That's why they only do large 3 part season finales at the very end of the saga (Vegeta and Frieza so far and Cell is gonna be the next probably next episode). I think that's how it works with arcs and sagas, with one big saga being made up of multiple smaller arcs (at least that's also how it seems to work for One Piece).

I've watched this over like 5 times since full release and rewatched older videos as they came and I swear I still find new jokes I either didn't get or missed. I'd rather a remaster of the Saiyan saga to flesh out the production quality.

Did you remember to watch it with the subtitles on? If not, you missed a ton of jokes. Especially if you watch the English version of the subtitles first. At the end it continues on in the video and says that you should have watched "the English (Canada) subtitles instead, it's funnier." lol So, you watch it again, but with the English (Canada) subtitles and get a ton more jokes added in. Such as when Mr. Popo (Or as the subtitles call him, "The Black Devil") says, "I'm going to assume those are similar to cats" the subtitles continue on with "(Why would you assume that?) TFS did such a good job giving Cell a distinct personality. In the original he's kind of just a cockier Frieza but even how Cell finds Goku's stupidity endearing while Frieza found it irritating is such a great character contrast. . In both the original and TFS Cell loves to fight and but here they really expand on his personal connection to the Z fighters bc he's made of them while Frieza saw them as just another obstacle and nuisance to crush
The dub of DBZ Kai improved cells dialogue a lot to where he's what you just described. Actually, the dub dialogue and delivery in Kai is way way better.

It is a year later, and I just noticed at 10:08 when cell is really pissed at Goku he calls him Kakarot, where as in every other moment he calls him Goku. I like the idea that when Cell gets really mad his Vegeta DNA starts to show and he subconsciously starts saying Kakarot instead of Goku.
I think it might instead be because up until now cell has been "flirting" with goku sort of like a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. So like when a couple are in good terms they talk to each other kindly and with cute nicknames and what not. But when he called him kakarot he was angry. So I think it might be supposed to reference how a girlfriend/boyfriend stop with the sweet talk and use the other's real name when they are fighting

He literally believes himself to be perfect. When one reaches the pinnacle of something, the zenith of a given thing, they find themselves faced with boredom as time goes on. As they have reached the ultimate, they have nothing else to challenge them, and thus they begin to crave that challenge. With Cell, in this situation, it is his fighting ability. He believes that he is a perfect fighter, and his power backs up his claims, serving to make most fights easy for him, a bore really. Thus, he craves a fight that challenges him. Moreso, as he believes himself to be perfect, he believes that there exists no higher level of anything for him to reach, that he has nothing left to strive for, save the challenge he so desperately now craves. Thus, these combine to form his mentality, that of one that craves a momentous fight to the death, a fight to his own death. Honestly, this is quite simply and easy to understand.

Well they're all different arcs in one big saga I think. DBZ has 4 sagas (Saiyan, Frieza, Cell and Buu) which are all comprised of multiple arcs (like in this case the Android arc, Imperfect Cell arc, etc.). That's why they only do large 3 part season finales at the very end of the saga (Vegeta and Frieza so far and Cell is gonna be the next probably next episode).
I think that's how it works with arcs and sagas, with one big saga being made up of multiple smaller arcs (at least that's also how it seems to work for One Piece).

TFS did such a good job giving Cell a distinct personality. In the original he's kind of just a cockier Frieza but even how Cell finds Goku's stupidity endearing while Frieza found it irritating is such a great character contrast. .
In both the original and TFS Cell loves to fight and but here they really expand on his personal connection to the Z fighters bc he's made of them while Frieza saw them as just another obstacle and nuisance to crush

He believes that he is a perfect fighter, and his power backs up his claims, serving to make most fights easy for him, a bore really. Thus, he craves a fight that challenges him. Moreso, as he believes himself to be perfect, he believes that there exists no higher level of anything for him to reach, that he has nothing left to strive for, save the challenge he so desperately now craves. Thus, these combine to form his mentality, that of one that craves a momentous fight to the death, a fight to his own death. Honestly, this is quite simply and easy to understand.
