Blink and you'll miss the action as Goku and Cell turn up the heat! But Goku's got a surprise... for everyone!

I never realized before, but when Cell is angry, he not only says the same words as Vegeta, but then calls Goku Kakarot.
His Vegeta was showing.
After 20 times of rewatching I just noticed that

and at 5:30 when he says "crapbaskets" when getting blasted, he's channeling gohan. there are so many great subtle blends in these last few episodes of everyone in cells dialogue.

I didn't notice he and Vegeta were saying the exact same thing, that makes it sooo much better
TFS did such a good job giving Cell a distinct personality. In the original he's kind of just a cockier Frieza but even how Cell finds Goku's stupidity endearing while Frieza found it irritating is such a great character contrast. .
In both the original and TFS Cell loves to fight and but here they really expand on his personal connection to the Z fighters bc he's made of them while Frieza saw them as just another obstacle and nuisance to crush
Yeah, cell feel more like a challenger and frieza is a realistic tyrant.
The dub of DBZ Kai improved cells dialogue a lot to where he's what you just described. Actually, the dub dialogue and delivery in Kai is way way better.

Just noticed Gohan asking Piccolo what Goku said because of his super hearing. The attention to detail they put into these is always fascinating
But it is still weird how those normal people were able to yell and hear semi-perfect cell in the part where he was looking for 18, but Gohan can't hear Goku who's not too far away. I don't care that much, still love dbza, but that's like the only weird thing I noticed

I love how TFS has characterized their female characters in Bulma and 18, and I already love Videl, so I'm just wondering how adorable they would have made her had they covered the Buu saga. Probably still a little pushy yet endeared by Gohan's nerdiness. "He's so dumb...but he's so cool!"
Hell, they probably would've made her and Mr. Satan's relationship really fleshed out too, with her being wise to his showboating and that he's not as amazing as he says he is while still loving him anyways.
yeah, i definitively would have loved to see her for example be someone gohan can be truely confortably with his nerdiness, caring and sazz, specially playing as sayaman
and yeah, despite biting more than what he can chew, satan is a really nice dude, he genuinely cares and would bite a bullet for his daughter, and he is strong, in human parameters, he won a world turnament just like goku
I was sitting on my hands for this when they announced finishing DBZ Abridged and it broke my heart. At least we got "sweet hair."
She was my first anime crush and I would have loved to see their characterization of her.
It’s a shame we’ll never see their Videl, she’s one of my favourite characters in the original show- well, at least, before she became a housewife

How do I end up re-laughing at jokes I've forgotten like they were new again
I've watched this over like 5 times since full release and rewatched older videos as they came and I swear I still find new jokes I either didn't get or missed. I'd rather a remaster of the Saiyan saga to flesh out the production quality.

Did you remember to watch it with the subtitles on? If not, you missed a ton of jokes. Especially if you watch the English version of the subtitles first. At the end it continues on in the video and says that you should have watched "the English (Canada) subtitles instead, it's funnier." lol
So, you watch it again, but with the English (Canada) subtitles and get a ton more jokes added in. Such as when Mr. Popo (Or as the subtitles call him, "The Black Devil") says, "I'm going to assume those are similar to cats" the subtitles continue on with "(Why would you assume that?) [Cause he's Popo]." rofl

@Wilson Nascimento This is actually a pretty neat synopsis of TFS Trunks. I also like how this changes him when he gets back to the future. He learns from Goku, Gohan and Vegeta's failures in a natural way. It's really subtle, but you notice the little changes from him becoming less optimistic and openly heroic to a more down to business attitude.

No it hasn't. This is the Cell Games Saga. It's only been going on for like 10 months. You're lumping like 4 separate sagas together. (The Android Saga, Imperfect Cell Saga, Perfect Cell Saga, and the Cell Games Saga.) Technically speaking, these aren't one story arc.

Well they're all different arcs in one big saga I think. DBZ has 4 sagas (Saiyan, Frieza, Cell and Buu) which are all comprised of multiple arcs (like in this case the Android arc, Imperfect Cell arc, etc.). That's why they only do large 3 part season finales at the very end of the saga (Vegeta and Frieza so far and Cell is gonna be the next probably next episode).
I think that's how it works with arcs and sagas, with one big saga being made up of multiple smaller arcs (at least that's also how it seems to work for One Piece).

It was funnier in the saiyan and freeza saga. In the cell saga it has elements of humor but is more a dramedy than anything. Honestly, there are some moments in the abridged from past episode 30 that have so little humor they’re MORE dramatic and serious than the original Z.
So, yeah, as a parody…it’s not as good as it was past the freeza saga. But by the same token…a lot of it is still more dramatic and better paced/written than the original.
