Great video, I have two Tesla 80A charging stations near my home and work that I was hoping this product would work on. Any chance you could give an 80A charger another shot in the future?

There seems to be a misunderstanding about amperage ratings. What matters from the adapter's perspective are downstream loads, in this case the onboard charger's amperage rating. Not the upstream EVSE rating.
Look at it this way, if you plug a LED desk light into your typical 15A receptacle, is it going to pull the full 15A? Of course not, therefore the connector (plug) and cable of the lamp does not need to be rated for 15A. It's the same story here.

Thanks for the review. In your previous videos, your 2017 Bolt has stock wheels. In this video it appears you have some other type of black wheels. Can you elaborate on that or post a video with information on that?

I keep two sets of wheels - one with the all season tires and then another with winter tires. My car gets driven over a mountain pass a couple times a week so it's mostly a safety thing. I went down a size with the winter wheel set (16") to get a taller tire compared to the 17" version. I don't actually have the model of the wheels, but the snow tires are Michelin X-ICe Snow 215/65R16. The wheels were fairly inexpensive back in 2020 when I bought them - $129 Canadian each.

Ehm charging at 5kwh is really low. I am not charging less then 11kwh

5kwh>0kwh. It's for emergencies, not every day use.

My Bolt maximum on a level two is 7.2, so that's pretty darn good considering my maximum. It's incredible how fast progress is right now in the EV segment :) My first EV had a max of 3.2!

@@DustinBatchelor I plan on betting a Bolt at the first of the year, and was already considering this accessory. Now I an almost certain I will get it. Interesting thought about having 2 chargers though. Think I will start keeping an eye on eBay for a cheap used one to keep with the provided one. And might as well look for a L2 home charger as well!
Given the short Tesla cordset maybe consider a short L2 extension lead? I was looking at a 20-40' one for home use but I expect there are shorter ones available. Just enough to make an inconveniently placed Tesla charger usable.

@@Bigrignohio Yes I'm rocking the 2017 Bolt :) I was very surprised by the short Tesla leash, which makes total sense given that they know exactly where the charge plugs are on their cars. I went and checked out a few other Tesla chargers and some of them did have longer cords depending on where they were located (due to being far away from the parking spot). Even without considering the Tesla chargers, I have been thinking of getting a J1772 extension plug as sometimes a charging spot is blocked by a non charging car, and I can park next to it but can't reach with the existing cord length. I did notice that the Lectron company sells 20 and 40' foot ones, which I agree are maybe a bit too long.

@@DustinBatchelor Well, maybe SOMEONE who has talked with them may suggest there is a market for one? :)
