Why Bitcoin is better than real estate

  • Most people will say real estate prices will never go down because we need houses to live in
But this isn't why house prices keep going up!
Real estate prices rise constantly because people have financialized housing.
Bitcoin fixes this by being money that doesn't need to be invested
You can just hold it and the value of your savings will be retained

Is this why some say (like Preston Pysh) that bitcoin is not yet for the poor? Maybe I’m quoting him wrong but if you don’t have money to save, then bitcoin, although it can help you, it won’t because the poor can’t afford to save. 🤔😖

I own some bitcoin, but be careful if you recommend others to buy it. Whilst I do believe in the technology, it is still a risky investment. People on a low income would be better to build up a decent emergency fund first before investing in crypto.

Wonderfully stated! I think people have trouble wrapping their minds around BTC because they’re viewing it from a financial instrument schema. People need to be viewing this as a printing press type of disruptor that you can price like a financial instrument (per coin). When you see that BTC is rewriting the rules of finance, then it’s clear what’s coming and why everything is falling against it.

Rajat, your content is amazing! This is exactly what I've been explaining to people. Bitcoin is such a better asset than real estate! It's not taxed annually, it doesn't require advertising, upkeep, or maintenance, goes everywhere on the planet almost instantly, can't be seized without consent, can't continue being created, etc.
Another thing is that BTC is so ridiculously undervalued currently, but many people don't understand this, although wealthy people & people who understand WHAT assets & money IS do understand its value.
Even a paltry amount of USD turned into Bitcoin is substantial. I encourage people to start...just start. Even a dollar helps and gets the habit forming. Great video.

Bitcoin is the ethical option...noone needs to live inside bitcoin, noone needs to eat bitcoin and noone needs to drink bitcoin to stay alive.
I've recently realised that countries need to acquire bitcoin to relieve landlords of their properties so that housing can be taken off the investment board. So new housing can be built and the value of the properties to drop without hurting anyones investment.
Needs to be made illegal for banks to lend money to create a competitive renting market. Here in the UK we have a product called a mortgage for rent.
So people with some capital can invest into a home that someone else will be paying the mortgage for. In turn the bank is using our money against us to siphon economic energy and the landlords have been given the mafia job or collecting the rent...
This needs to stop and I know that bitcoin is the answer

You have to buy the real estate to begin with. You have to use capital that you could be using to buy bitcoin instead. For example, if you have a 20% down payment, you'll get a ~20% return on that money per year. On a $500K house, that's $100k. A 60% return on that 100K will give you a better result than 20% and buying more Bitcoin with rental income. I included how Microstrategy achieved this in the video BTE

Haven't finished the whole video yet but I disagree with the assertion that the cost in BTC of a home going down is due to people dumping houses for BTC. Have people sold real estate to buy BTC sure. But this is like saying the nasdaq or the S&P purchasing power vs housing means people are dumping real estate to buy stocks. If you plot Nvidia vs MSPUS, you can buy a lot more house with your Nvidia shares now than you could two years ago but people aren't dumping houses to buy Nvidia.

Real estate investing is NOT immoral. Villainizing people for choosing to put their money in appreciating assets IS immoral. People who call it immoral are just mad they can’t do the same thing. Stop buying Starbucks and eating out, vaping, drinking, smoking pot, etc. Get your ass to work. Improve your skills and value in the labor market. And then scrimp and save until you can buy a little shack. Then keep working, fix up your shack, and trade up for a nicer home. Then eventually, leverage the value of that trade-up home to buy a second property. Rinse and repeat. The reality is that nobody is going to build those homes unless someone is willing to buy them. And rent is currently cheaper than buying. So, do you think the builder is immoral also because he won’t build and sell homes at a loss. If so, why do you think you’re entitled to work your own job for a profit. You put your labor out there and capitalize on it. You’d gladly accept the appreciation if you had a rare Pokémon card. Why shouldn’t someone else be able to do the same with a piece of real estate?

There is a large element of luck that has played a factor. At some point I may be priced out by large REIT's. I may make a mistake in my valuation and pay too much for a property. I might be out competed. I may lose my health or motivation. The fundamental nature of the business may change, and I may just not understand what it takes to be successful anymore. Bitcoin is the crystallization of time and energy for whatever brief period of my life that I was successful even though I may not have fully understood why. You can when the prices of everything fall compared to bitcoin. You can when a house that costs 4 bitcoin is 1 bitcoin 4 years later. And then half a bitcoin, and then a quarter of a bitcoin. You will be able to do a lot with your bitcoin down the track, including buy somewhere to live, maybe even outright depending how much you stacked.

Utility doesn't mean anything. We NEED oxygen to survive but it's free.

Agreed. Bitcoin is the best savings tool meaning you'll be able to buy whatever the hell you want with it as the purchasing power rises (instead of falling like fiat)

Live on Bitcoin, not in it. I can move anywhere in the world and never run out of money when I live on the Bitcoin standard. If my net worth is tied down to a house, I'm stuck to a geographical location. If we go to war, it be impossible to liquidate the house in time before it gets bombed. With Bitcoin I can move my wealth anywhere and anytime.
