In bringing up Rusev and Lana: I'm surprised that you didn't mention the confusing angle/feud between him and Lashley; or, the other confusing and uninteresting feud between Naomi and Mandy Rose Uso ( because Mandy Rose was creeping with him).
I remember that, as a kid, I saw Val Venis just about to be castrated by Kaientai at the end of a Raw show. That was a very confusing storyline for me back then.
Bray Wyatt's burnt mask looked like when you don't wait long enough for cheese to set on pizza and decide to pick a slice from the pie anyway and the cheese is falling off the sides
What makes it worse is that he, unlike 90% of todays wrestlers, cared about and loved the business.. I hope they do him the justice he deserved. Waiting on Jimmy C's upload. He loved those guys. A sad day for wrestling.
LOOKING BACK IN HIMDSIGHT THAT RAKISHI ROCK STORYLINE IS THE MOST LONG TERM STORY TELLING WWE HAS EVER DID HE DID FOR THE ROCK !! BECAUSE THE ROCK IS HIS NEPHEW AND HAS TO BE A BIGGER STAR THAN AUSTIN IT MADE PERFECT SENSE NOW LOOK AT THERE BLOODLINE 20 Years later ITS ALL REALLY ONE STORY
Mae Young and the hand. Seems like they missed an opportunity for Al Snow and Head. “It’s coming, I can see the head, wait a second” doc pulls out Head
Honestly, anyone who dislikes what Russo did in 1999-2000 has to also throw shade at Heyman's booking as well. Go ahead and watch the wild storylines in mid 1990s ECW and tell me that some of em aren't just as bad as WCW five years later.
This reminds me of something Paul Heyman said at an Inside the Ropes live show. All you need to do is ask yourself three questions: Who are these two wrestlers? Why are they fighting? Why should I care enough to watch? If you can answer all three questions, you've got yourself a wrestling angle
I just remember being in middle school in 2000, talking with other friends about Triple H clearly running Austin over. Imagine our surprise when they said it was Rikishi because he wanted the Rock to get over because the WWF was keeping Samoans down. This coming after the Rock, who’s half-Samoan, being a multiple time champion and second biggest face in the company.
I Remember the Aces And Eights storyline in impact Wrestling in 2013 that was great Until Bully Ray was revealed as the president of the Aces and Eights @ Lockdown 2013 that was a Swerve I knew he would Join them especially since D-Von was already a member of the group and Tazz Joining was awesome I totally forgot that Mike Knox was in the group as well.
To be fair the logic of Rikishi not being on the roster was actually what let Foley deduce it was him. Scotty Too Hotty said something like “It couldn’t have been me I was hanging with Sexay and Kish” which foley then brought up he wasn’t on the card. This certainly creates other holes like why was Rikishi initially a serious character and why did it seem like he met Too Cool for the first time later but at least covers his status for the Austin thing. Still a terrible idea and nonsense reasoning
Tbf even with what they had they wern't that far from a decent storyline. Rikishi ran down Austin thinking he'd help his family, but Rock as the bayface didn't want the help. Triple H used Rikishi's naivety for his own gain to get Austin out of the way so then Austin's return is he batters Rikishi, Austin then moves onto Triple H. Rikishi moves into a short fed with The Rock & finally you bring it all back to where you want it with Austin vs Rock & have a new upper mid card heel in Rikishi
The Big Show's switching back and forth between being a face and a heel annoyed me so when he allied with the Undertaker in July 1999, I groaned in annoyance as he'd only been a good guy for a few months and he was going back to being a bad guy?
i liked aces & eights, it was certainly not perfect, but was at least interesting, until it got too screwed up near the end, yeah there needed to be a bit more star power or something to it, and there was certain things that definitely would have went better, but it was better then a lot of other things going on in wrestling in the 2000s... they should have kept more of them masked longer. i certainly felt it was better then 'retribution" on wwe that gave some nxt people silly names like t-bar and slapjack, where i think they were fighting for contracts, but they got them almost right away and for some reason continued, or were they trying to destroy the company, but then signed contracts right away and continued?? i'm not even sure really what they were doing, other then losing every match.
I had an accident involving getting burnt, over 21% of my body getting 3rd degree. Then after I get out of the burn ward I see the fiend getting set on fire. It flared up my new PTSD!
I will never ever ever everrrrr forget Mae and that hand. Even back then I thought that was one of the dumbest segments I've ever scene. Man, WWE had some crazy storylines, half of which made absolutely NO sense.
I might be completely misremembering this but wasn't part of a McMahon in every corner also that the Royal Rumble finish got botched and then it turned into a storyline??
Mae Young, Mark Henry and Hand remains one of my favorite storylines of all-time. It's so absurd, far-fetched and ridiculous I can't help but love it. Mae Young is a legend and the fact she was wearing out Sexual Chocolate, a sex addict- you can't help but laugh.
Mae Young in general is an absolute legend. I honestly can't say I've seen her wrestle when she was active decades ago, but just her character work in the Attitude Era was legendary. At 7-9 years old, I personally found a nearly 80-year-old woman to be one of the most entertaining and most over characters on the roster.
The toughest tortures of early 2000's pro wrestling is Mae Young and Mark Henry storyline it wasn't that I didn't respect Mae and Mark for the accomplishments in pro wrestling it is just I could see way better storylines for both of them not to do with each other and also not to do with Thing from Addams Family being born
Are you saying that "the world's strongest man" impregnating Mae Young and for her to give birth to ham...... was not an accomplishment? Lmao..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Yeah, I get what your saying but still😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think if not for HHH picking up the ball after Stone Cold and The Rock's careers changing and HBK's return in 2002; A lot I think is due to that and Eric Bischoff joining WWE. It did really help longtime fans stay with the company without The Rock and Austin on a full time schedule.
After the hit-and-run, Rikishi was being portrayed as the fun-loving, dancing big man with Too Cool. It kind of had a moral to the angle, looks can be deceiving.
I remember when Dean turned on Seth we were all like awesome, Dean Ambrose is a heel and then a few weeks later he came out wearing a Bane mask smh Vince always has to mess up everything
@@dillonohlemiller401 vince made wwe and is a good man for businesse lol he created so much and you people don't even know which ideas are his xD imagine it comes out that he was, the one giving those returnees their contractts back.
@Zarrstrudel Vince Fired JR multiple times (once took part in a segment that made fun of his colon surgery), greenlit the Katie vick story, fired half his employees during the first lockdown of covid, covered up the murder of Jimmy Snuka's girlfriend, took no responsibility 4 the death of Owen Hart, forced Ashlay Massaro to keep quiet about her rape on a tour (and even denied it later on), paid several women to jeep quiet about their affairs with him and returned to wwe out of ego and spite. Vince is a disgusting human being and I am sick of mindless sheep like you defending him all the fucking tone!!
I was really excited when the imposter kane story started... only for it to end a week later. They could have used this to introduce a new brother to kane. But instead we got doc
I don't think it's entirely fair to put the Rusev/Lana love quadrangle on Vince entirely. It was a crap storyline to begin with, yes, and many people knew Rusev & Lana were together IRL, but there's no accounting for two of the people in the storyline getting engaged and TMZ plastering an image of them with the news all over, to the point that even WWE couldn't really ignore it. It'd be like if during the DDP/Taker angle if DDP had been publicly broadcasted to millions renewing his wedding vows or something; it wouldn't really make sense to keep that storyline with DDP creeping on Taker's wife going.
Bray Wyatt sucks. He doesn't even wrestle. Its always all build up and no pay off. I actually fast forward through his segments now cuz There's no point in hearing him talk. I wish he would would just go away again.
Considering how thin the stories are in wrestling, the most confusing thing is how they manage to be so fucking convoluted. It doesn't help that half of them are just dropped out of the blue and never mentioned again.
You know Riskisi saying Samoa wrestlers never got respect...well look now with the usos and Roman...they are getting respect...so maybe his heel turn did work ADMIT IT!
"Hard to know where he stands". Clearly you've never played hide and seek with a giant. It's impossible to not know where he stands. Just because kayfabe died. Doesn't mean pissing on its grave is all good. I Iook at politicians the same way. Yeah we all know what you're actually up to. All I ask for, is the small courtesy of hiding your activities. Props to the big man for the pro tradition stance.

The Brie Bella story.
How about the best masked wrestlers?
Here's an idea:
Ain't He Great: The Jeff Jarrett Story
I applaud you for actually being patient enough to count the number of times Big Show turned.
The Bray Wyatt character had so much more to give, rest in peace Windham Rotunda. Gone far too soon.❤️
In bringing up Rusev and Lana:

that papa shango / ultimate warrior shit totally worked on me as a kid, one of my standout memories of wwf from that time.
I remember that, as a kid, I saw Val Venis just about to be castrated by Kaientai at the end of a Raw show. That was a very confusing storyline for me back then.
Especially when John Wayne Bobbitt randomly showed up to save him.
He smashed his wife and got his peepee choppy choppied . What’s not to understand
Bray Wyatt's burnt mask looked like when you don't wait long enough for cheese to set on pizza and decide to pick a slice from the pie anyway and the cheese is falling off the sides
The second I read “the most confusing storylines” I immediately thought of the fan poster that read “they’re fighting over a shampoo commercial!”
Rest in peace Jay Briscoe

Mae Young and the hand. Seems like they missed an opportunity for Al Snow and Head.

even though vince russo was not involved in the mae young storyline, I still blame him for it. The fool of a man.

I still am disappointed that Jericho wasn’t in the 2000 4 corners match.

The fiend losing the match with one RKO was one of the worst decision's WWE have ever made.
It killed whatever momentum Bray had left.
Multiple finishers is one of the main reasons why wrestling is shit nowadays

Nope I hope his family rots in hell after Jay shitcoe died noones gonna miss Jay shitcoe anyways
Austin storyline would've been interesting had the person ran him over was Vince or Triple H.
The second Kane was so cool. I didn't care that it made no sense. It was so cool.

Very true I remember 99 2000 smackdown should of just been called the triple h Steph show and he was a great fukn heel
Looking at Roman now the rikishi storyline would have been great if the rock had turned heel. Rikishi could've DID IT for the bloodline

So to be clear, Vince thought that Lana was too beautiful to be aligned with Rusev and his salutation was to align him with Summer Ray.

Great content as always! Love from UK ❤
I can remember watching most of these live. And I’m not even 40
Omg, the Aces and Eights…… that’s when I stopped watching TNA/Impact.
WWE shows don't happen everyday, so I wonder what creative members are doing everyday in their planning.
Considering how thin the stories are in wrestling, the most confusing thing is how they manage to be so fucking convoluted. It doesn't help that half of them are just dropped out of the blue and never mentioned again.
Was the car that Rikishi was supposed to be driving actually big enough for him to fit in ?
Take a shot every time he says “convoluted” 🥴
Dungeon of Doom was so bad I swore we were being trolled.
Oh the irony of Glen 'Fake Diesel" Jacobs throwing Fake Kane out the back door...
The Big Show was in “McMahon in every corner” match , was actually because Big Show won the Royal Rumble
Rikishi turning heel pissed me off so much. He was SO OVER with 2 Cool!! Like why end it?? So stupid.

I think we are getting the Bray/Alexa payoff now...although Uncle Howdy is throwing a curveball
I rather Bray stats far away from Bliss. He doesn't need that Harley Quinn knock-off cramping his style
Why did you get rid of the Adam cole documentary
Quadrangle?... I think they call that a square
At Mania 2000 they owed Mike Foyle that Mainevent thats why they ended up doing a mcmahon in every conner. And throw in the Big show
At least mae young wasn't pimpin out female talent
Vince Russo might have been gone but they found a notebook he left and still used some of his ideas even if they were terrible.

What do the 33 and under fans think of the wrestling and storylines from pre WWE and WCW?
They should have just named the "Big Swerve" instead of the Big Show.........
WTH is wrong with D'Von lmao
