Minor correction here: The idea for Austin to bleed during the WM13 match was Bret's not Vince's. Vince was highly opposed to blood at this time, and had Bret and Austin not secretly arranged this themselves behind Vince's back, this moment would not have been anywhere near as epic as it would eventually become. This one is all on Bret and Austin, not Vince.

Imo giving Austin Theory a rapid push may turn out to indirectly be one of the best things McMahon ever did, as it's given Triple H the room to redirect that energy into a kind of redemption arc through having him lose MitB, and generally not live up to expectations. The potential beginning of this being Theory's attacks on Ziggler and Rollins.

I summarily disagree with your Hulkamania assessment.
Vince owes his entire national push and Terry’s “rub” to 1982 number 3 box office smash Rocky III.
Vince did not do the heavy lifting, EVERYTHING was built on the back of Stallone casting Terry as Thunder Lips in his film AFTER Vince Sr. fired Terry for leaving to (smartly) take the film role.
Young Vince was smart enough to ride the Stallone wave, buy WWWF, re hire Terry, package him as Hogan, partner him with Rocky III antagonist Mister T, and mortgage his home for massive pay per view.
Vince wisely seeing Terry’s global success and mainstream recognition, simply took advantage of the opportunity and timing.

14:20 I agree that the decision to split the roster was necessary, but I disagree with how it was done. They never truly established “Raw” and “SmackDown” as true stand-alone brands. The brand was WWF/E.
They didn’t need to make the whole “draft” thing public. Just slowly start migrating some of the roster one way, another part of the roster the other way. Split the titles evenly. Now, you’re still always operating under the WWE banner first and can float people back and forth as needed. The whole “they’re kind of exclusive but not really” thing really killed it for me.

Who gives a fuck? Y’all cry about WWE bringing back old people but you’re blowing sting now? Lol the bias is ridiculous…nobody is checking for Sting…who did Sting lose to? Oh HHH….the same man who has BURIED tons of talent…Sting hates HHH not Vince…and MOST guys from the attitude era do as well…you think Vince booked HHH to go over Sting @WM? Lmao I swear this HHH obsession is insane…

Your giving Vince too much credit for Austin and reigns. He had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the Austin bandwagon. Vince likes his top babyface to be a clean cut and wholesome Boy Scout. That wasn’t Austin.
As for reigns, it took six years of getting booed out arenas and a pandemic to force Vince to finally turn roman heel.

I swear y’all AEW mark’s literally don’t know wrestling or just lie for no reason…kicking and screaming? Dummy what would Roman have been if he turned heel then? By himself? He couldn’t cut a promo!!! You think he magically popped up as a legend on the mic overnight? Heyman was still with Brock….Usos weren’t ready…the MAIN reason this worked was because of the pandemic…a lot of the shit they did with Roman wouldn’t have worked in front of fans….and what? That’s how I know you don’t know wrestling…you think Steve Austin was some badass lmfao? HE WAS LITERALLY A GOLDEN BOY!!!! HE HAD BLEACH BLONDE HAIR WITH THE MILLION DOLLAR BELT!!! YOURE LITERALLY LYING ON HERE! Something is bad, it’s Vince..something is amazing, it’s the talent…STFU!!!! VINCE IS A GENIUS AND HAS MADE YOUR FAVORITE STAR FROM SCRATCH AND YOURE SICK ABOUT IT!
