I typically do all my spells and rituals at night in the dark lol. Everyone is asleep and the small town I live in is like a ghost town. I’ve always felt the dark and night comforting for that reason so it just feels natural to do my woo woo then lol
I love this topic!!! Thank you! It often does feel like make believe to me. Which is ok sometimes, but other times feels really silly. And I've never heard anyone discuss this before so thanks!
I dont do a lot of rituals because most of them feel really silly to me, but I do light candles and meditate nearly daily mostly because of the mental health benefits. I have a few things I do to celebrate the wheel of the year too. Usually this involves music and/or baking. Music heightens my emotions and even silly music can make me cry sometimes. Baking doesnt feel silly to me because it feels useful since I can eat the foods I make as well as share them with friends and family including non pagans. Also I recomend zuchini tempura if you are not opposed to deep frying at home. Zuchini also sometimes good grilled on a vegetable sandwich often with balsamic vinegar, summer squash, and eggplant. Or you can make zuchini noodles.
Thank you for addressing this, I almost burst out laughing in the middle of something yesterday imagining my housemate walking in on me doing a spell 😅😅
You are not alone. My alter is in a window so I've 100% made eye contact with a neighbor while in full ritual. I'm also sure they have seen me sweet taking the moon 👁️👄👁️ 👻
I'm actually learning how to lean into the "silliness" as I explore witchcraft because I find that it to be a nice place to go beyond the socially anxious inhibition (or the "cringe") that most of us learn or internalize by the time we go through adolescence. Other than the meditation I practice from time to time to ground myself in the present, indulging in little "witchy" characteristics (or little habits I did as a child such as make little "altars" or pretend I'm casting a spell whenever I'm creating or cooking something) helps me find playfulness in the day-to-day life. 💖
Yes thank you! It's always when I recite a spell or speak a poem during my witchcraft that I start to feel silly. Feels good that I'm not the only one. I guess speaking isn't a very useful form of Magick for me
Thank you for this video. Ive been in a depression spiral for a while and haven't felt in tune with my craft so I havent done any of it... This inspired me to go dip back in
One of my favourite zucchini recipes: Cut the zucchini in 3mm slices (not in the direction that gives you circle shapes, but the one that gives you rectangular tongue shape thingies) and fry them in a medium hot pan with olive oil. Put salt and pepper on them and fry until nicely browned. Transfer to a plate and generously squeeze lemon juice over it. Cut yourself up some ciabatta, put cream cheese on it, and layer some of the zucchini on top. Boom, the most refreshing, aromatic, zesty summer meal. (Also, love the video, have been struggling with that myself)
I shred zucchini with a cheese grater and put it in everything, often in place of, or to supplement noodles. I tried spiralizing them but I find that too firm a texture for my taste. So I make soups/stews, burritos, stir frys, pasta dishes, and salads and add the zucchini at the end of cooking (residual heat will be plenty if it needs to be warm). If I need it to not be too watery (like in a salad or something like fried rice) I’ll salt it and stick it in a tofu press for a bit while I’m cooking/prepping other things. Zucchini is magical and I probably eat at least three or four of them a week when I’m cooking for myself 💖✨
I’ve been “practicing” since I think late 2018. And I’ve always struggled with feeling stupid the whole time. but I didn’t that the TYPE of spell is really an important element for me. If it’s something to bring me money, love, joy, peace, those all feel silly to me. Maybe because i can bring myself these things without magick. But protection spells for myself or especially others, or spells to heal or bind someone who needs it, or spells that have a very immediate impact like a sleepy time tea that I can FEEL working- are all types of magick that I don’t feel silly. And I think it’s because magick really takes faith to work. You really need to believe your spell will work and as someone with crippling ADHD it’s really hard for me to feel right doing a “happiness spell 😊” when I know that my moods come and go quickly bc of my mental health. I started my practice and was fully right for it at the time but now, 6 years later, I feel silly restarting. But I somehow miss the wonder of the beginning of my craft. I think it’s that I can’t SEE results happening even tho I’ve proved to myself that they will come.
Zucchini brownies. My mom made them and they were good. I love that your talking about this. I haven’t done any rituals but sometimes I definitely feel silly. I LOVE your outfit!
Since you grew your own zucchini, please be cautious of cucurbit poisoning/toxic squash syndrome, it's more likely to happen in home gardens. I have personal experience with this, so if it's bitter, don't eat it. As far as suggestions, I either toss some in pasta sauce or just slice, bread and fry them and dip them in ketchup, ranch or onion ring sauce.
I've been down the witch path for about four years and figuring out what vibes with me has been deciding what I don't like as much as what I do. Elaborate rituals with no practical application just don't do a lot for me. I do better with the green/kitchen end of things ~~ infusing my daily life with intention, making a ritual of things I'm doing anyway, and meditating on my gratitude for the sustenance and healing that nature provides, and also taking that energy and turning it toward the people I love in forms of practical care like food and medicines ❤ Do you like quiche? If you have a quiche base that you like, it would be easy to throw together a zucchini quiche. I grate it with a coarse cheese grater, wrap it with a towel and squeeze the liquid out, and add a lot. Flavor ideas: zucchini + yellow potatoes, onions, mild cheddar, white pepper, and thyme. +sundried tomatoes, basil pesto, and goat cheese. +carmelized onions and gouda. +fresh tomatoes, onions, dry ranch seasoning, and parmesan. The possibilities are really endless since zucchini has such a mild flavor. And unless I'm making quiche as a gift, I rarely make a crust so it comes together really quickly. Also, grated zucchini freezes well to be used later in baked goods (if you have go-to recipes, measure before you freeze it). Congrats on your bountiful garden! 🌱 Edit: P.S. Zucchini noodles + alfredo is super yummy.
I like to spiralize zucchini and use it as noodles in ramen! Sometimes I use a mix of ramen noodles and zucchini. I don’t have a specific recipe because I like to make it random but it’s my favorite way to use it and it’s quick and easy.
Wish I could 💜 your vids! A memory of my mom walking in on my pagan practice at my altar as a teenager (atheist now) is an embarrassment that haunts me 🤪😂😅
For your zuccs you can shred them and cook them up like shredded hashbrowns. You can also cut them in half long ways, hollow them out, bake 15 min at 400 f, put tomato sauce and meat in and cover with cheese, and bake for another 5 minutes
zucchini fries with tempura batter is my absolute favorite zucchini dish lol. i’d recommend using a more “healthy” oil for frying like avocado (yes i know its expensive. i’m sorry 😭) or olive oil and using garlic salt in the batter
How about Zucchini Pasta?! Zucchini, Garlic, peppers/Chilis, Spaghetti or Tagliatelle, Olive oil and cream. Cut the Zucchinis into not too thick strings or slices, heat up a pan, put in the peppers, Garlic and oil, when it smells nice add the Zucchinis, add the cream, cook it a little, add salt, pepper or whatever. Put it over the cooked pasta and enjoy your meal :)
Hey, Sedna! Love your videos. I have some Zucchini recipes for you. Crispy Snackers Slice Zuccnini ¼ inch thick Coat in olive oil Coat in mixture of parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and basil (mixed to your tastes) Place in oven and bake at 450 for 25 minutes. Can also be done with yellow squash. Very good dipped in Hummus, Tzatziki sauce, and Spinach Artichoke dip Pesto Sliced thin vertically, fried in the same pan as chicken (After the chicken is done, obviously,) until soft, seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, basil, bay, and rosemary. Cook until soft, but not mushy, Either add to Green Pesto noodles, or mix Pesto sauce directly into Chicken and Zucchini for a carb light oprion. Fried Slightly different than the Crispy Snackers, Whip 2 eggs into a bowl In another bowl, place ½ cup flour, black pepper, paprika, a dash of Cayenne, and salt and mix well (no real measurements on seasoning, just what works best for you. Mix bowls together. If too runny, add in a bit more flour, if too thick, add a 3rd egg Slice zucchini into ¼ inch rounds Dip in egg batter Fry on stove top pan or griddle with olive oil until crispy brown Egg batter also works well with yellow squash and green tomatos
Zucchini recipe! You should try plant balls! You put chickpeas, zucchini, nutritional yeast, and Italian seasoning in a food processor, add flour or starch or something to bind it, and form into balls. Bake at 350 until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Add them to your spaghetti like meatballs!
Oh! Have you got a zoodle maker? They are like a little grater which you can use to make long zucchini noodles. You just cook them in boiling water for 1 minute and add whatever you like to them! I love pesto, tomatoes and some feta cheese 🧡✨
That outfit is SOOOO cute! Do you make/decorate any of your hats? If so, I think it would be nice to see a hat making/decorating video; maybe like a tutorial, or a diy-along-with-me type of a thing.

Researching toxic squash now. I have such a fear of food illness and I didn't know my squash could make me sick. Yiiiiikes
