It's ridiculous that we don't have those things already. They really would rather make 20 packs and shit than optimize the game and add stuff that the community asks for. Money grabbers, that's who they are...
I’ve been playing the sims 2 for free and I can do pretty much all of these. it’s so silly that a game from 2004 is better than one still getting updates
And I do actually like the romantic boundary options - because some personality types are naturally flirty conversationally, but don't have any intentions to take things further.
The romantic boundaries are OVERLY wordy. But you can ignore it and Sims will proceed as normal. But to do a tad bit of explaining, Ignore the open relationship/polyamory element. Some people do not get jelouse for flirting and they may be 100% monogamous in their relationship. But they feel like physical contact is cheating but not flirting. Sims in Sims 4 use to think EVERYTHING was cheating even kissing another sim for your acting job that you have no romantic interest in.
Right. If I were a Sim, I’d tolerate flirting but draw the line at sex if the understanding is we are exclusive. I like the fine-tuning, but it’s too complicated and verbose. I hated the automatic rage. Like, she’s cute, flirt, but don’t y’all get in that Photo Booth, I know what you’re doing in there!
@@kryw10 Yeah I think Lumpino? has a jealousy mod that I have used for awhile off and on and you just set 'this Sims isn't jealous for FLIRTING'. 'This Sims is ONLY jealous for Whoohoo. Super Simple. I know they consulted with a romance and relationship expert for this and it sounds like this expert was far too proud of their PHD and went overboard.
@@agatunii1212 I think it depends on what you view as flirting. If my partner gives someone a compliment or smiles and banters a little bit with someone it wouldn't really bug me. If the goes overboard (like searching for physical contact, laughing way too much in a flirtatious way, compliments that are sexual) though it would raise some concerns and I would ask him about it.
@@lisannegudegast5667 right, I don’t see bantering or smiling as flirting normally. But also it depends on the context and the intention of the other person… Idk I’m very confused by this update 🤣 my sims are either full jealous or polyamorous 🤷🏼♀️
Some people get jealous if their partner talks to other people in general, some need for their persons to flirt with others to get jealous, and some barely get jealous and if they do its because they might of really cheated. I think the SIMS team did good. Sims can work out their jealousy issues if you want them to by talking things out... and others find their pov non-negotiable. ❤
I'm happy that you can finally ask if the other sim is single without it being romantic interaction 😄 Now if the neighbourhood stories work with romances you could ask your sims friends if they have found someone without you being involved.
@@Pandorasvideo Well since it only makes your sim irrationally jealous from basically any interaction, confident around their partner, and tense when they haven't seen their partner, I don't think it's any different.
@@second_second_ I think flirt kiss and woohoo could be used to summarize tho. There could be a further explanation if you click the little question mark in cas but it would be far easier if just a simple term represented each category. There's just too much information overload to read through these clumsy sentences mid gameplay imo. Especially since the current categories are so similar, e.g. non-physical and physical. It slows down brain processing.
The nicest feature of having that eyelash layer is that we are now going to get the CC lashes on a new layer and no more clipping!!!!! CLEAR UP of Romantic Boundaries.... I can give examples of each because I fully understand each being Pan all around...1.can be flirting or going to lunch with another intereest. 2. can be kissing or dancing together. For those who are not in monogamous relationship, these different limits of boundaries are important. Hope this helps you get that tab a bit better =) 💕 💕 I can say that I get more upset knowing my partner is having lunch with another than seeing them grinding on someone while they dance....
Eyelash layer was my first thought! Finally I can free up skin detail/makeup/acc slots once modders switch over 😅 that was one of my favorite things about nail polish as well when added. Between that and copy paste, first time I've been actually excited for something in Sims 4 in ages
- I'm jealous about flirting. - Can't you just *not* be? - You convinced me. Also, to be honest I like how they described these jealousy options, I'm not a native English speaker and the descriptions are very clear for me and they seem pretty flexible, which is good in my opinion. What I think could be better is deciding how our Sim reacts to things that trigger jealousy - do they get angry? Sad? Scared? Do they get mixed, maybe even conflicting emotions? Everyone is different after all.
It was obvious to me that those eyelashes would act as fake eyelashes. A lot of Simmers are or were in denial about this. But to be fair, it's not like Maxis put the emphasis verbally on the fact they would look fake.
I kind of wish we could keep husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend instead of using generic spouse or partner. Like it's great as an option but the old ones were good too.
I agree. I think it should change based on your sim’s pronouns. I don’t know how challenging that would be to implement but it makes the most sense to me.
@@amberbouley I mean, given the issues the team had with implementing the singular "they" as a pronoun, I'm not surprised they just overwrote it all with partner and spouse.
08:15 I actually really like the distinction between physical and non-physical romance! I feel like that would make it easier to see what the difference is between the questions.
Me too!! Those terms sound more dignified and loving than just the generic boring “spouse.” Also “Partner” just doesn’t sound romantic at all, it sounds like a business relationship.
There is mod for it, but it replaces it completely though I think. It changes it back to husband/wife etc. So I don't think there's a way to mis and match the terms you prefer that I know of.
Thank you Satch! Eyelashes? CC is better. Those look like Spiders trapped in tar! If you do First Person sims perspective Do you see the eyelashes floating in front of the sim, in first person mode? (Shift Tab)

The CAS update is going to be so useful, I can now apply the same makeup to the same outfits and I can remove things on all outfits when doing makeovers.
"The language for Sims’ relationships now is more neutral to be more inclusive" They didn't make it more inclusive though, they just replaced one thing with another. Why not allow us to have both? I want to be referred to as a 'wife' not a partner or 'spouse' if i want. I'm fine with it being there, there are some sims who that would apply to, but not everyone. So it isn't inclusive.
The amount of contant that we got with this update is included for free with wicked whims, or wonderful whims if you dont like the messy stuff. Wicked whims also does it so much better, without all this weird, confusing stuff
The shock on my face when you reminded me how eyelashes in sims 3 actually works and looks. I don't even know what to say, the difference is just mind blowing.
I agree with you on the checkboxes, the terminology is way too generic and trying too hard to not offend. "non physical romance" 😭 just put flirting or something along those lines, it sound so robotic. I also don't get the "exploring" checkbox, I wish sims were just just open to anything like they were originally instead of having to fill out a questionnaire for every sim
Isn't it open to everything by default? Also, exploring just means that they're not certain yet or might prefer women or men but are open to explore. I personally like using this for teens but that might just be me
@@myra0224 Same this is why I skip over Satch’s videos he always has the anti woke police in his comments 😂it’s not a very nice inclusive fanbase. Plumbella & kayla’s fans would never
@@polarknight856 Not sure if you're referring to me or not, but to clarify I'm not "anti-woke", I just don't care for the needless pandering that the Sims team has been opting for rather than incorporating actual inclusivity (pronouns still don't work properly for some). What would be inclusive is keeping past terms and adding "partner" and "spouse" so that everyone's happy. What about those in the community, such as myself, who wish to keep the gendered terms? Not everyone in the community has the same beliefs and I believe it necessary for everyone, whether we disagree or not, to discuss. I also just think the text is very clunky and awkward which leads to certain in-game tabs reading like an essay as opposed to simple, digestible dialogue/symbols. I think the Sims team just likes the illusion of being inclusive while still implementing features lazily.
I find it kinda funny that sims can't dance on counters or in birdcages at the club or pop out of a cake, but they can now have open relationships. Really, EA? I'm not even gonna comment on the lashes - just glad for the new category (for cc's sake). Edit: let's face it, sims in the sims 4 have never taken their wedding vows seriously.
im polyamorous myself and i do think that the relationship preferences panel is overcomplicated af lmao maybe this seems complicated too but i think they could’ve put a box that said “this sim is okay with having an open relationship” and if you click no all the other answers go to no. then you have the questions about the boundaries in that “open relationship” (which is quite an umbrella term so i think it’s ok to use it) - flirting, as you said; physical contact (like kissing for ex); woohoo and i would even add another box for having multiple “official” partners (idk if this is too much but given the clear relationship categories that there are in the game i think it could make sense) im actually really glad that they added this to the base game i just agree its such confusing wording,, they could’ve done better
After the new Update ALL my sims just randomly start to be mean to each other all the time.(like for no reason at all) Do yall also have this problem?? so annoying
Lack of supervision + passion project Sim Gurus might like the game, but they get restricted by higher-up's and the "bottom-line". Or they might be meh about it, which means they do the bare min. Both render lifeless output.
As a legacy player, you have NO IDEA how AMAZING it is that now all toddler sims get the Top-Notch trait after completing all skills. I always feel like deleting everything when I spend like hours to max them out with no reward 😭😭 Also, please tell me we're gonna get preschool SOMETIME soon. Toddler sims always staying at home can get a bit annoying :')
Sims 4= Complicated interactions without interesting gameplay. One billion choices for any interaction and another billion to set up a Sim. EA-make it simple, stupid!! (Satch, you are NOT stupid, but actually very smart in your observations!)
Thank you lord for finally giving us a way to copy and paste accessories, clothing and hair! Thats all i ever wanted in CAS. Now i can spend all the time i want in cas without getting fatigued... as a Cas player, this feature means so much to me. I been spending so much time in build mode due to this annoyance but on the bright side my building skis have advanced greatly.
jealousy is really a weird way to word it, i don't know if i'm overthinking it but like, i can't think of a scenario where physical romance triggers jealousy but woohoo doesnt? also, it feels weird to put a boundary around 'what makes me feel jealous', if my partner didnt engage in physical romance with other people JUST because it made me 'jealous', that still means they are open to it. i feel like boundaries should be put around what you WANT and EXPECT, not if it makes you feel jealous or not.
also just because the person reconsidered their preferences and says they dont get 'jealous' anymore doesnt mean the jealousy suddenly disappears. i feel like they over over OVER simplified relationship dynamics and reduced it to just acting according to feeling of jealousy
That's essentially how lumpinou worded it. They have a preference for open or not open, you romance them and ask if you can have an open rom. Made a lot of sense to me that you can have a preference but still decide on a per relationship basis and, importantly, that can still result in negative feelings and changed minds. For example, sim could get negative sentiments too much romance with another and ask to change to monogamy or break off. Instead, This way is the all or nothing Sims 4 is known for (think: moodlets).
Totally. The wording around relationships needs to be treated a bit more carefully, and the "reconsider jealousy" interaction just gives me the heebs ngl. I know it's not real, it's a video game explicitly made for you to make the experience totally your own, but there's always editing a sim in CAS if you're so desperate.... adding this extra layer of what feels like coercion is very odd to me.... "reconsider your romantic and sexual boundaries for Me" 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
@@ghandiwon That makes sense for the sims 4, the moodlet comparison seems spot on. honestly it's one of the main reasons why I love sims 3 so so much more, it feels less black and white and the sims 4. even with all the inclusivity things that sims 4 is doing it still feels a little bit shallow.
And the game is broken. Can't access build/buy screen, CAS, or any of the UI (needs panel, menu to save/game options settings, etc.). This update is worse than when they added infants! I would take never updating the game again versus trying to "fix" bugs by creating new game breaking bugs.
Jealousy is by the way not the default setting either. They said it will be the default for all the current existing relationships when they update it, but after that the game will randomly generate the jealousy settings. Also, I know you can ask sims to accept wohoo and flirting etc. and therefore become open, but can you even ask them to put up boundaries and become exclusive?
I wouldve liked if there were 3 preset romantic boundary modes to choose from: strict boundaries, flexible boundaries, & open boundaries. The player can choose which preset configuration they want so its just less confusing off the bat and townies would get one of the 3 presets. The player could also instead choose a custom boundaries mode instead of presets, so then they could do all the intricate checkbox selections for the jealousy triggers if they want to configure specifics.
So, they're forcing all the players to use gender neutral terms instead of giving a choice ? Is boyfriend / girlfriend / husband / wife offensive when we play with straight Sims ? Being actually exclusive when they try to be inclusive, so much BS on EA's side.
@@gnu_andrew They're able to code "brother" and "sister". So they can do the extra effort and add gendered names for players who actually want to use them.
Yes! Thank you! I feel the same way. Like I just want it to be an option.. like the whole boundaries questionnaire...to use which ever words you want not erase everything. To me the term "spouse" feelscold and distant. Also teenagers calling thier boyfriend/girlfriend "partner" just feels so unnatural and less personal..
@@jazistar8729 yeah they both sound very formal. "Partner" makes me either think of a business partner or someone being coy about the fact they are in a relationship with someone of the same sex.

Satch can you make a new video about the new bug please? Many people start getting new bug right after the recent update, such as the Sims cas edit went white screen for a really long time, I'm not the only one have this problem other players have it too after the update
It's a fantastic update, but as per usual, The Sims team can't do a good thing without breaking something else. I'm on the 6th generation of a legacy challenge, so there are a number of sims related to my sim living in the world. I updated their neighborhood stories to allow romantic and friendship changes. A few minutes later, my sim gets a call from her cousin to say that the cousin is now dating their own brother. This seems like a problem to me....
Too bad the new update triggered the mean bug again 😢😢😢 My game is unplayable…luckily I didn’t pre-order lovestruck…it will be impossible to build any kind of relationship in the game until this is fixed 😂😂😂
Partner sounds so impersonal to me. You can have a gym partner, a business partner, a hiking partner, but boyfriend and girlfriend is something very specific and inherently romantic. I wish they'd have provided an in game option on which one we'd prefer so it could make everyone comfortable with language. Props for the inclusivety, but lets also not exclude some in the name of including others - embrace everyone's preference, basically.
One thing I always disliked about the game is that townies would never be in a relationship with another sim (unless they were married or you of course pursued them). They are either married or they are single with no in-between and I always thought that was so dumb, especially since it wasn’t a problem in 3. The game has an interaction if you ask the sim if they are single but if they are married, the game will tell you that without you needing to ask and if they are not married and you haven’t set up a romance for, they are always gonna be single. It just makes the interaction pointless. But this update adding relationship changes to neighbour hood stories is definitely a step towards fixing this issue is which is nice, I will admit that.
Gonna be honest, I left my sim alone while I was helping with the other household members. Then I just noticed one of the townies and my sim flirting with each other(without me doing anything). So they moved in together and now have a family restaurant-
Sure, that can absolutely happen. I was mainly referring to their relationship status when they are created and before you interact with them. This new update has made some good changes by the looks of things. Sure many of these things should have been there from the start/should have never been a problem to begin with and I don’t think they will save the game but they are appreciated never the less.

I love that we’re getting a lot of poc hairstyles in the basegame but I do wish they would also fix the basegame hairs so they don’t look like plastic
yes, they really shoul update them! Most of them looks plastic and helmet-like, it is impossible to use
And it's a realistic style. Not killmonger locs thank God. Long double barrel twist is a really good addition.
They should remake more base game Sims and lots tbh
It makes no sense that to have decent hair it has to be CC.
And clothes too. I hate that they can't just make clothes that fit the female frame separately, there's a bunch of pants that will literally change a female sims frame if you wear them.

That option to ask about the Sim's financial situation is great. And I cannot stress enough how glad I am they FINALLY fixed the issue with the Finchwick Fair stealing your entries. I lost my most prized LLAMA to that stupid fair, it was devastating.
Did you win first place at least? I have never won first when I clearly have the best entries.
@@Gerrly I don't remember anymore, but I may have won 3rd place. I don't remember ever winning first place either - *maybe* once, a long time ago, with a pie or a crop or something.
I'm really happy that The Sims Team are finally giving us features we've been wanting for ages, next we need a hair colour slider/more hair colour swatches, more basic swatches for carpets, wallpapers and beds, auto roofing, one side railings on stairs, spiral staircases, burglars as NPCs, pool tables, garages, normal slide, roundabout and waterslide.
It's ridiculous that we don't have those things already. They really would rather make 20 packs and shit than optimize the game and add stuff that the community asks for. Money grabbers, that's who they are...
I feel like if they do any of that it will be in kits/packs we'll have to buy. Like it just feels like something they wouldn't make free, y'know?

The copy tool is gonna be so helpful for married sims with rings. It was so annoying having to put the ring for every outfit
And I do actually like the romantic boundary options - because some personality types are naturally flirty conversationally, but don't have any intentions to take things further.
True
Right, some people are just more naturally flirty than others
That's me lmao.i love to flirt but have no intentions to date 99% of the time.😂
And some people don't mind their partner woohooing with others but get jealous with flirting or kissing. One night stands vs partners yknow?
The way you said "I'm so excited" with a mouth full of chocolate is honestly so valid
Just copy Lumpino's homework. All this physical contact/non-physical contact wording makes it far more complicated than it is. I know they consulted with a romance and relationship expert for this and it sounds like this expert was far too proud of their PHD and went overboard.
But are you guys like this in real life? Like you wouldn’t get jealous if your partner is flirting with someone else? Just asking for a friend 😂
Those eyelashes look COVERED in mascara...
It looks like the sims eyelashes fell into an oil spill
I'm happy that you can finally ask if the other sim is single without it being romantic interaction 😄 Now if the neighbourhood stories work with romances you could ask your sims friends if they have found someone without you being involved.
I come for the brutal critiques on the Sims 4 updates, but I stay for the famous snarky laughs. "BahaHA!!" 😂❤️
The relationship boundaries can be simplified to flirt, kiss, woohoo. Why make it so difficult with that clumsy explanation.
Indeed. I honestly don't know why they couldn't have left it at jealousy on or off, minding these details kinda gives me a headache tbh.
Also, what happens to the Jealous trait now? Is it now just a redundant trait taking up a slot for no reason?
@@Pandorasvideo Well since it only makes your sim irrationally jealous from basically any interaction, confident around their partner, and tense when they haven't seen their partner, I don't think it's any different.
because there are many other romantic interactions other than flirt, kiss, and woohoo..?
@@EtaryaFae SAME!!! The copy paste is a game changer!!!
Everyone is different after all.
the reaction is a brilliant idea.
i agree with you, as non-native it's clear.
I don't think I've ever used the word 'partner' in my life
@sracln97 not without the word "Howdy" infront of it.
@@amberbouley I mean, given the issues the team had with implementing the singular "they" as a pronoun, I'm not surprised they just overwrote it all with partner and spouse.
@@SundaeSyrupas a queer, i do ☝️
08:15 I actually really like the distinction between physical and non-physical romance! I do however agree that the UI should be made more clear, or at least make it so the important words like "physical" and "non-physical" are underlined/italic or something like that. I feel like that would make it easier to see what the difference is between the questions.
Here I am just hoping someone will mod the words "Husband" and "Wife" back into the game now
Me too!! Those terms sound more dignified and loving than just the generic boring “spouse.” Also “Partner” just doesn’t sound romantic at all, it sounds like a business relationship.
I like partner though. I wish they'd have both, I don't know why they can't have both but make them equivalent to marriage 🙄
Agreed. I just would like the option to choose what you prefer. It should be preferably to have choice after all.
There is mod for it, but it replaces it completely though I think. It changes it back to husband/wife etc. So I don't think there's a way to mis and match the terms you prefer that I know of.
I also dislike the wording of the romantic/sexual boundaries. But eh, it'll do.
Those eyelashes are horrendous omg… at least there’s an eyelash section for modders now😭

Now if they'd just add a proper delete relationship for just the romance bar. Like I want certain sims to keep their friendship, but get rid of the romance they got from autonomous flirting etc if I so choose.
I believe there's an option for that already. Ask to stay friends or something.

"The language for Sims’ relationships now is more neutral to be more inclusive"
They didn't make it more inclusive though, they just replaced one thing with another.
Damn they finally did it.... Im excited for the mods that will come from this tho, cause the base game eyelashes look kinda awful ;-;
5:56 I also had this glasses distortion after the updates.
I tried reparing the game , and its still there !!
I think the Sims team just likes the illusion of being inclusive while still implementing features lazily.
since my update my sims has been glitching so badly like the entire screen turns black and freezes and my sims keep duplicating 😭
The eyelashes are giving Trixie Mattel.. 🤣
100% agree with the wording for romantic boundaries! It’s like it’s been thought about too much.
im polyamorous myself and i do think that the relationship preferences panel is overcomplicated af lmao maybe this seems complicated too but i think they could’ve put a box that said “this sim is okay with having an open relationship” and if you click no all the other answers go to no. then you have the questions about the boundaries in that “open relationship” (which is quite an umbrella term so i think it’s ok to use it) - flirting, as you said; physical contact (like kissing for ex); woohoo and i would even add another box for having multiple “official” partners (idk if this is too much but given the clear relationship categories that there are in the game i think it could make sense)
im actually really glad that they added this to the base game i just agree its such confusing wording,, they could’ve done better
After the new Update ALL my sims just randomly start to be mean to each other all the time.(like for no reason at all) Do yall also have this problem?? so annoying
my game is not working since the update - thanks for nothing EA :(
I still can't believe that CC is still way more beautiful, like why? why?
Lack of supervision + passion project
Sim Gurus might like the game, but they get restricted by higher-up's and the "bottom-line".
Or they might be meh about it, which means they do the bare min.
Both render lifeless output.
The romantic boundaries are actually quite easy to understand 😂
Non-Physical = Flirting, Dating, Checking out
Physical (non-woohoo) = Kissing, Hugging, massage etc
Woohoo = woohoo

Sims 4= Complicated interactions without interesting gameplay. One billion choices for any interaction and another billion to set up a Sim. EA-make it simple, stupid!! (Satch, you are NOT stupid, but actually very smart in your observations!)

I been spending so much time in build mode due to this annoyance but on the bright side my building skis have advanced greatly.
The lashes remind me of 2010 eyelashes 😭💀
I wouldnt mind them upgrading the game to the Sims 5. I would love open worlds
jealousy is really a weird way to word it, i don't know if i'm overthinking it but like, i can't think of a scenario where physical romance triggers jealousy but woohoo doesnt? also, it feels weird to put a boundary around 'what makes me feel jealous', if my partner didnt engage in physical romance with other people JUST because it made me 'jealous', that still means they are open to it. i feel like boundaries should be put around what you WANT and EXPECT, not if it makes you feel jealous or not.
this is just my first instinct and opinion please dont attack me im genuinely trying to understand
also just because the person reconsidered their preferences and says they dont get 'jealous' anymore doesnt mean the jealousy suddenly disappears. i feel like they over over OVER simplified relationship dynamics and reduced it to just acting according to feeling of jealousy
The eyelashes are giving M To The B vibes😭😭😭😭
And the game is broken. Can't access build/buy screen, CAS, or any of the UI (needs panel, menu to save/game options settings, etc.). This update is worse than when they added infants! I would take never updating the game again versus trying to "fix" bugs by creating new game breaking bugs.
Yes exactly I can't access create a sim it's just a stupid white screen.
About time they allowed us to copy things to different outfits.
I think they should do some sort of pack associated with death next
Jealousy is by the way not the default setting either. They said it will be the default for all the current existing relationships when they update it, but after that the game will randomly generate the jealousy settings. Also, I know you can ask sims to accept wohoo and flirting etc. and therefore become open, but can you even ask them to put up boundaries and become exclusive?
Finally a apply all option that a time saver thank god now we need outfit saver where can save. Your own outfits
So the lashes look like pasted on craft construction paper? 😂
3:44 Omg the multi apply in CAS is amazing!!! I’ve been begging for something like that!!!
So, they're forcing all the players to use gender neutral terms instead of giving a choice ? Is boyfriend / girlfriend / husband / wife offensive when we play with straight Sims ?
Being actually exclusive when they try to be inclusive, so much BS on EA's side.
Right?!
It's probably just simpler to code that than having it free-form. The other terms are already used in-game.
@@jazistar8729 yeah they both sound very formal. "Partner" makes me either think of a business partner or someone being coy about the fact they are in a relationship with someone of the same sex.

Im soooooo glad we can apply makeup to all outfits! It was so tedious before!
Who's having an issue with the new update, my create a sim won't open its just a white screen
Too bad the new update triggered the mean bug again 😢😢😢
My game is unplayable…luckily I didn’t pre-order lovestruck…it will be impossible to build any kind of relationship in the game until this is fixed 😂😂😂
Waitttttt the eyelashes... they had one job 😂😂😂
The gasp i let out when i saw the eyelashes LOL.... anyways i did like some of the updates esp the open relationships
Your laugh gives 1000 years of life, so funny!
Yes so nice !!! hope you all have a nice day !!
The eyelashes remind me of these "100 coats of mascara" challenges from 2016
One thing I always disliked about the game is that townies would never be in a relationship with another sim (unless they were married or you of course pursued them).
Loving this update as well and was so excited to download Shanice Shanice and crew! I already have them in a huge beautiful mansion living their best lives! 🤣🥰
The wording for the boundaries is SO bad. Like did they kill the writers? Did they kill them? Are they dead?
