What the hell are you talking about? Sure the shots are good and the editing is very good but the dude has totally crushed black levels due to luninance mismatch between 0-255 and 16-235 and a fux0red LUT table.
Linus Miller People who own 21:9 monitors. Most films are shot in 21:9, and many games support it too, so the experience is superior in almost every way.
It's because not everyone exports from their NLE in widescreen. Most youtubers will export in 16:9. They all just use the "youtube" preset in their editor. But Brandon actually knows what he's doing and properly exported it in widescreen.
He basically killed 30% of the vertical resolution in doing so. Not to mention his luminance range is totally fucked thus the blacks are crushed. Total f'ing hispter douche amateurs IMHO. Dude doesn't seem to understand what a LUT is or what 0-255 vs 16-235 luninance range is.
I pre-ordered this last may but cancelled it after waiting for 6 months of delays. I eventually opted for the Sony FS5 because of storage. Sure the Ursa Mini would have better image quality, but I didn't want to spend additional thousands on CFast cards and a RAID bay just to be able to use it. Also RIP 6-axis gyroscope. Of course if money is no option, this is the one to get.

The experiment: Take multiple computers (done virtually), have them all start at youtube videos (some same, some different, with possible location difference with VPN), then leave them running with autoplay constantly loading the next video. Then check back after a week and find out what video they ended up at.
Honestly I keep coming back to this video simply due to how beautiful the intro is, especially with my ultra wide being happy to be fully used. Brandon's videos are my 2nd favorite on ltt, only 2nd to Tarans videos.
+Facehunter2003 I was in the same place as you, so I got a job and have a beast of a streaming setup but now I don't have the time or energy to stream. I would recommend trying to stream even if your video quality is shit, if you have a good personality and an entertaining stream people will come. you can slowly upgrade over time.
This is a low budget for a BUSINESS.. If you were to start a business that would require tools ( almost all businesses) you would first have to get funding to get you started. Maybe first use a really decent steadycam, and when you're turning profit you'll be able to think about purchasing something like this. Owning this camera as an ordinary consumer will fuck up your bank account to say the least, yes.

This, and I don't even care about cameras, was one of my favourite LTT vids! It was super awesome! All the slo-mo content looked wicked, the entire set of footage from that camera was incredible!! :D Nice one!

Although the ursa is great and gets the majority of the jobs theres still benefits to having a more expensive film camera such as the sensor and quality. I'm gonna let google tell you for yourself the differences between a cheaper cinematic camera and a RED camera.

Especially when the only benefits it had over the blackmagic is 2 stops of dynamic range and extra resolution. (While this is significant the extra features are not really being fully leveraged by LTT and questions why they spent over 100k to get them).

Great review. This is a phenomenal camera and not many people know about it since Blackmagic invested in making this camera something special instead of it's marketing. I'm glad you're giving it the spotlight on this channel and helping in promothig it. It deserves it.
Although these cameras aren't my cup of tea because of their cost, I found this video to be the most professional looking video on LTT channel. All in all 10/10 review of the camera. I absolutely loved the footage and Brandon's many angles on this camera's details.
+Matthew Hennes I doubt it. It was recently that Linus mentioned it on the WAN Show and he got 6 weeks of vacation I believe. Also it seems to be the video that one of the last two WAN Shows were late over since Linus mentioned a deadline on a Vessel upload and B-Rolls. If you check Brandon's twitter, the video was uploaded to Vessel right around said WAN Show. In conclusion, I don't think it was during his vacation.

Yeah it's like an S7 Edge you have to edit the video afterwards to make it look better. As if paying near $10,000 USD shouldn't already make it look better when you press the RECORD button.
It's the 'filmic look'. Most movies have desaturated colours (often with blues in the shadows and oranges in the highlights), and it looks very different to TV, which is sharper and more saturated with more motion blur. As far as the filmic look goes this footage is really good :)
@tekreviews: Not possible unfortunately. High dynamic footage needs to be recorded with low contrast, otherwise the blacks 'crush', and the highlights 'blow out'. But editors can get that contrast back in a few seconds if they use a LUT which can emulate film or TV and is usually as simple as a drag and drop
So by that logic, is a $10,000 4 year old Mercedes Benz not a bargain because it is $10k? This camera is a bargain compared to other cameras of its caliber.
have you seen how much a RED would set you back?... Professional cinema cameras go for 30-50k, and that's just the bodies. Full setups including handle, battery pack(s), lenses, viewfinders, microphones and tripods can be upwards of 100k.
for a camera that is competing with 15,000-50,000 cameras yeah its definitely a budget friendly camera. remember this is a Professional Cinema Camera not a Prosumer much less Consumer camera. This camera was designed for indie filmmakers and videographers who wish access to Hollywood level quality workflow.

I couldn't even watch this in 4K because of my 1080p screen and all the footage still looked amazing. It felt like I was watching a professional movie or documentary.

Great review. This is a phenomenal camera and not many people know about it since Blackmagic invested in making this camera something special instead of it's marketing. I'm glad you're giving it the spotlight on this channel and helping in promothig it. It deserves it.
Although these cameras aren't my cup of tea because of their cost, I found this video to be the most professional looking video on LTT channel. All in all 10/10 review of the camera. I absolutely loved the footage and Brandon's many angles on this camera's details.
I though Brandon is on force vacation
The videos are recorded long ahead of when they're released (unless they're a serious sponsor deadlined video)
Although this looks suspiciously like something he might have filmed while on "forced vacation"
+Matthew Hennes I doubt it. It was recently that Linus mentioned it on the WAN Show and he got 6 weeks of vacation I believe. Also it seems to be the video that one of the last two WAN Shows were late over since Linus mentioned a deadline on a Vessel upload and B-Rolls. If you check Brandon's twitter, the video was uploaded to Vessel right around said WAN Show. In conclusion, I don't think it was during his vacation.
joey budraj since he had six weeks of vacation, his forced vacation could potentially have started long before the WAN show where they mentioned it. That said, you're probably right.

Even though I'm 13 this is what I want to do for a living, making beautiful videos and pictures from a masterpiece camera such at this one would amazing, let's hope that Linus will still be up and running in 10 years.

I assumed those were RAW footage, because if you look at the results later in the video where color edits were applied, they look very nice.
Yeah it's like an S7 Edge you have to edit the video afterwards to make it look better. As if paying near $10,000 USD shouldn't already make it look better when you press the RECORD button.
It's the 'filmic look'. Most movies have desaturated colours (often with blues in the shadows and oranges in the highlights), and it looks very different to TV, which is sharper and more saturated with more motion blur. As far as the filmic look goes this footage is really good :)
@tekreviews: Not possible unfortunately. High dynamic footage needs to be recorded with low contrast, otherwise the blacks 'crush', and the highlights 'blow out'. But editors can get that contrast back in a few seconds if they use a LUT which can emulate film or TV and is usually as simple as a drag and drop

Most cameras like these are 50,000$ without a lens, basically just the body for 50k$. That's why this is such a bargain!

This camera is a bargain compared to other cameras of its caliber.

Professional cinema cameras go for 30-50k, and that's just the bodies. Full setups including handle, battery pack(s), lenses, viewfinders, microphones and tripods can be upwards of 100k.
Their idea of "budget" and mine are totally different things.
for a camera that is competing with 15,000-50,000 cameras yeah its definitely a budget friendly camera. remember this is a Professional Cinema Camera not a Prosumer much less Consumer camera.
This camera was designed for indie filmmakers and videographers who wish access to Hollywood level quality workflow.
They assume other rich noobs kids are watching their videos. Like everyone else has CHA CHING! I bet most of them are eating a burrito looking at this going "WHA?? Dude, this thing aint gonna be cheap".
I couldn't even watch this in 4K because of my 1080p screen and all the footage still looked amazing. It felt like I was watching a professional movie or documentary.
