Galaxy s20 plus review pls
As a Galaxy S8 user. I just bought S20. I used S8 for almost 4 years. And It really helped me a lot with video shootings. Really It had quite nice quailty. I even perefered it to my Canon M50 camera time to time. And now with the S20's camera quality, my canon m50 will be my secondary cam for sure.
Do you advise me to buy I want to shoot at night and day and is it good in battery and are there any problems with heat❤️
I've got an S8 as well; it's a great phone, but I'm a guy who photographs and videos many things to collect memories. I'd love to get an S20, it looks astoundingly good.

Hi,Just looked at your review and at the minute I am running a S8plus and it's a great phone. I am thinking of upgrading it with the s20 5g or the s10plus. What would you advise me as camera are quite important to me plus a fast device with plenty of punch with multi tasking.
How can I choose what megapixel settings I want? I have andr 11 and s20+ one ui 3.1 and I dont see the front and rear camera picture nor video settings...please help

I can't understand why no reviewers ever talk about video recording time restraints in any of their videos. Covering this is a must. Can you record continuously with this phone on 4k? or does it only record for 10 minutes/ 30 minutes? Hopefully you can on 1080p/60fps. Cheers

@@twistedstrategy5454 now let me explain this to you...I use s20 ultra...I watched one review, where the reviewer was comparing a budget oppo phone to the s20 family,that its a better value for money and that it also has almost equal or better cameras.i don't know how he did it, the camera on the s20 became very blurry and the oppo was sharp,and it wasn't 100x or 50x zoom.i knew immediately this was a scam.

I just got this phone. I can't figure out which is the main camera? It defaults to 0.5 zoom under Photo then you have the option to zoom out or in 3x.

The regular s20s do have bigger sensors than the s10 plus line up and almost all other phones

What do you think? Is the camera/video (and SW features around) better on Samsung Galaxy S20 (G980F) or Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro? I really would like to know because not sure which one to buy next days. I'm going to start some video shooting with gimbal and then editing/postprocessing (want to get some experience with DaVinci Resolve and I know Kdenlive, SonyVegas a bit). Let's say that I am not "standard user" but rather a bit geek/technical kind of person (Computer science, computer graphics and geometry knowledge, Linux).

I need to know: what am I missing out on the Huawei p30 pro's camera if I go with the regular Galaxy s20?
Because I'm obsessed with the p30 pro's camera, but in daily use 5x optical zoom might be too much zoom.
Get the P30 Pro. S20 lineup is underwhelming especially if you get the Exynos variant. My P30 Pro still gets 6-7 hours SoT after one year while my 2 month old Exynos S20+ barely gets 4 hours SoT on Optimized mode and barely 6 hours on Medium Power Saving regardless of it being on 60hz or 120hz. P30 Pro’s main sensor still has better low light performance and faster shutter speeds and its 20mp ultra wide has autofocus and outperforms the ultra wide of the S20 lineup in this regard. The P30 Pro also captures and post processes images faster than the S20+ in my experience and don’t start with me about overheating. The Exynos stays warm to hot with just normal usage when not on a power saving mode.

I have a P30 at the moment and love it but can get a P30 Pro New Edition for the same monthly cost as my P30, where as the S20 is more expensive. Nope, motion shot just take a short video just a few moment before the picture was taken, single take mode take short video, boomerang, hyperlapse, monocrome picture and some filtered picture
why all the video samples are at 30fps? Also all cameras at s20 can record video at 4K 60FPS ?

UPDATE: as I write this, I note that the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 47% larger sensor, with 1.7 micron pixels . . . sensor size being the subject of this comment . . .
I much appreciate this very straightforward and technologically literate yet easily digestible review. I appreciate the specific info on how the S20 telephoto works, and generally very informative coverage of this model. I HAVE JUST ONE SUGGESTION--and I've also made this to other smartphone camera reviewers-- a little more coverage to the emergence of LARGER IMAGE SENSORS in smartphones, please.
One of the main reasons that the S20 main image sensor performs so well is that it is 40% larger than most smartphone camera sensors of the past. It has the 1/1.76" sensor with 1.8 micron pixels, vs the usual 1/2.55", 1.4 micron sensor. The size of the S20 sensor is 40 squ. mm vs the traditional 25 squ. mm. True, main image sensor of the S20 Ultra is even bigger (70 squ. mm), but the substantially larger size (and undoubtedly improved design) of the S20 sensor compared to the S10/Note10 series (and the Pixels and iPhones), is worth mentioning.
As in the DSLR world, where full frame cameras with their larger sensors are universally acknowledged to give better low light performance (and usually better dynamic range) than crop sensor cameras, so in the world of smartphone cameras, the units with larger sensors have a real advantage. True, smartphone companies are doing an amazing job of overcoming the limitations of small sensors with sophisticated software programming, but there's only so much you can do. That's why the flagship Huaweis and the Ultra and Note S20 Ultra are clearly better in low light.
BTW, I DO appreciate the specific info on sensor size provided by GSMArena in all your reviews. In addition to the traditional description of sensor size, which is hard for the non-nerd to understand-- e.g., 1/1.76", 1/2.55"--and the very useful micron size of pixels, how about providing the actual size of the sensor surface in squ. mm?

I don't mean to come off as sarcastic, but does anyone really and truly care about zooming in so much on photos, the s20 is great, 2 years ago we were pretty satisfied with what we had in our cameras, now we're so happy with the regular pictures that we're looking for flaws in what it can't do lol, I guess that's the only way to progress
It depends on the user and their expectations. I use DSLRs and when I see the output from phones on my PC, it still underwhelms me. Of course, it cannot be at that level, but they're getting better than point and shoots and that's a good start. Not for the camera companies though haha
Also about zooming in, when you take pictures from your phone and try to use them as wallpapers on PC, that itself would be a zoom coz of the big screen and you'll be upset by the quality lol. And forget about 4k monitors, even at 1080p it's not good enough. It's excellent for Instagram and general sharing
I mean, if the phone can actually accommodate a lot of camera for versatility let's get more cameras....

the front camera is zoomed in on third party apps (instagram, snapchat, whatsapp, etc) and this cannot be fixed.
Did you try going into the camera app and changing to a different camera. Then check on third party app and use the camera there.

I have the s10 and the s20 would be a downgrade comparing the cameras in the s10 you have a 16mpx wide angle camera and the main camera is also 12mpx but it goes to f1.5 while the s20 has a f1.8 so you are better off getting a s10 and wait for a few releases like s40 or s50 imo.
yeay. but the sensor size is better now. eventhough s10 have f1.5. the bigger 1.8 nm will take more light than 1.4 nm s10

@@hasaji6444 yes its pretty good. The only downside not just with s10 but with all phones is that they all have led flashes and if you want to take a picture of a larger room or at a party the phone flashes aren't good like the xenon flashes on real cameras

Sorry but who tf cares about natural bokeh? If I wanted a blurred background I would turn on the Live Focus/Portait Mode. I want the main sensor to be clear, both subject and background. With S20 Ultra, both the Auto and Live Focus mode have blurred background, why the fck give the option then 🤣

Turn off the beauty mode and the camera will be great ( thats what i did with my Note 9 ).
