I love all the self appointed critic trolls that come with any movie ...if you don't like it say so but spare us the diatribe of your self importance .................remember you are still just a Troll
Grumpy Marc? I love you too. The 50's color swells luminous in this one. Must be the film. Not so stark as modern day has become. Room for mood. This one hits the spot for me. I just knew Nicki would get in the way of a bullet in the end. Great shades of Casablanca.. 9 of 10 on my trolling chart. Obrigado.
The scenes outside the city look very much like old San Bernardino (San Berdo to the oldersters)/Riverside with the huge vineyards that produced the grapes for what of the time were called jug wines, "cheap" "Italian" wines sold in the large glass jugs with the little circular handle. Then the Gallo Brothers got involved with what raised the type to a quality wine on its way to classified by year of production and wine varietal. Now the land is covered by the massive 'burbs that would get caught up in the 2008 housing fiasco since it was "cheaper" for people to move out there in order to buy a home although it would require them travelling hours back and forth in order to get to work. The city scenes are studio lot sets. The color is pretty good. i wonder if it has been worked on by the film institute?
Very Good Movie! Good Color and Picture, That 3D Strip Technicolor Gallantrycross was talking about must have only been used in some Movies. It would have looked good in A theater or Drive in!
Jack Palance : 1919- 2006. Ukrainian parents, he was born in Pensylvania and worked in their coal mines... ended up boxing, plus other jobs. Twice married, 3 children, 1 son died in car accident.
Interesting how they could jump out of the plane and it would continue to fly for miles, exactly to the airport and crash at the end of the runway?. 🤔😏🙄🙄🙄 I guess people just didn't question things back then? LOL I love the old movies! Thanks for posting this one!!
Quem disse que os heróis-galãs têm que ser handsomes? Jack Palance é a prova incontesti dessa hipótese. E olha que ele não foi astro só de filmes B, mas também de clássicos, e contracenou e beijou belas estrelas na tela: Martine Carol, Maria Félix, Joan Crawford, Ida Lupino, Allison Hayes, Barbara Rush, Shelley Winters, Anita Ekberg, Milly Vitale,Eleonora Rossi Drago, Giovanna Ralli Corinne Calvet, Brigitte Bardot. Joan Fontaine, Claudia Cardinale, Betsy Palmer e Silvana Mangano. Quero deixar bem claro aqui, que as legendagens em Português oferecidas pelo RUclips ou pelos uploaders é de ruidade gritante. Elas, além de confundirem mais do que esclarecerem, são pessimamente ordenadas. Falei e disse!!!!!
Joan was a beauty - the resemblance she and her sister Olivia De Haviland had with each other was kind of hard to see... but now that I'm older I see the resemblance more... Olivia has now become 103 years old... married a French man.. can't remember his name... been living in France for decades.. The tabloids had Joan and Olivia feuding with one another for a long time.
I'm enjoying it. Good tension, looks like it was actually filmed on location. Nice color, good musical score. Bad guys with French accents 😄. If you don't like it, you just don't get it.
This was one of only two films shot in 3-D three-strip Technicolor, which means they used SIX strips of film! Look at all those great PBY Catalinas! Wow!
Very interesting. Jack Palance had a unique screen presence. No one moved the way he did, or stood the way he did. His eyes and his voice seethed danger and threat. That is why he made such a great Attila (good movie, if you can find it.) I think producers had trouble figuring out how to use his unique persona.
Because the main title said, 'Tangire' 1953. But had it describe the main feature as Fake Tits in Tinsel Town' then those looking to view 'Tangire' could have saved their penny or two and been spared their time being wasted. Yes. Why watch it?
Interesting film from the '50s, I saw this in 3D at the Egyptian at the 3D Expo. Not a lot of 3D effects but interesting to see Palance in a good guy mode since in the same year he played a villain in RKO's "Second Chance" also in 3D with Mitchum and Linda Darnell.
Why don't the people watch the movie for what it is..... Instead of complaining about the movie... I bet they could not do better.... Seems everyone knows everything... They need to go to Hollywood and show us their talents ..... I'm sure they would be crushed by the comments people would post..
Yes. On the one hand you are correct. But on the other hand Holywood Movies generally were for cinema public paying viewing. IE. They were not free. So cinema goers had to pay money. So people had a right (If not in the USA, then in other countries) to expect at least their monies worth. Maybe thruppence in the UK. A premire with 'Tangier' in the title suggests Tangier to figure as of being of overall significance. But instead the obvious most prominent feature of the film is clearly Ms Fontain's cones. People were being sold fake Tangier or no Tangiers. But instead the Holywood fraudsters were providing some thing other than that stated on the label (Main Title). So on the other hand you are wrong. The paying public have a right to voice their opinions. Film ratings were very important at one time. Of course I know the film is shown free on RUclips. But still. I myself I am appricitive to read comments from either the for or against viewer side. But compare me with some of the Holywood Icons and of course they are of a far greater attraction. But from a familyman prespective. I viewed the film for Tangier. Not 'Tits in Holywood tinsel Town'. So I could not rate the film greater than an early '2 bit movie'. But I confess to being some months from being sixty years of age.
The movie Was made entirely in studios in the US. Too many American car. Morocco tangier was a French colony in those days 1953. is Not even one French car in the street.
im an oil painter . The blue hues in the Tangier night scene are amazing . I literally have hundreds of paintings to do in this movie . Thanx
🏄
An all-star cast, and a cracking film.
Love Joan Fontaine - so classy; and Jack Palance - wonderful.
Thankyou for posting.
Xx
Been a classic movie fan for decades, and I just recently learned that Joan is Olivia de Havilland’s sister!

Man, if they still dressed like that...thanks for posting, loved it.
Captain Barreto was an Argentine militar and Tango composer, he have various famous tango
This history is real
I'm a sucker for any movie that has Jack Palance playing a good guy.
Jack Palance playing a good guy? Hmm, I better watch this 😊
ATTACK is a great movie
Then you should watch Ten Seconds to Hell, with the great Jeff Chandler.
Same. Some actors like James Mason, Dan Duryea, and many others played such good bad guys that they seldom played the good guy.
The colour is superb!
YES, #AlanaRonald! That must have hat @ 2:05 reveals just how good that the color is!

This is great: real acting, no CG and no one-second images!
🏄
A top-notch 1953 intrigue color classic with Jack Palance et al. Don't miss this one either.
the clothing and hairstyles are terrific
Hats were worn by men in these older movies, nowadays nobody wears them...I think they look smart
Enjoyed the movie. Thanks for uploading. I wanted to see some of Palance's early work.

Awesome oldie! Thanks so much for sharing.
Joan is so gorgeous. A true classic beauty.
I'm enjoying it. Good tension, looks like it was actually filmed on location. Nice color, good musical score. Bad guys with French accents 😄. If you don't like it, you just don't get it.
All female European radio operators.
No local Moroccan talent in your union ??
This was one of only two films shot in 3-D three-strip Technicolor, which means they used SIX strips of film! Look at all those great PBY Catalinas! Wow!
gallantrycross x 👍
23:39 Is that Jeffrey Hunter?
Not quite the ending I wanted, but better than my ending.
Palance as forboding as ever. Lovely flick. Thanks. Dave.
an entertaning movi. Good show. Thanks!
Can't say I developed any sympathy with any of the characters. Perhaps it is the lack of backstory. Two stars.

Sometimes the stars just have to make a buck.
Thank you for posting this.

Corrine Calvet was the beauty of the movie! What kind of car was the pink one?
if the movie is stupid why watch it

Wonderful seeing all those parked PBY's at the end of the movie.
PBYs~ a Yankee Clipper~ and Jack Palance too?!
And a Lockheed Super Constellation too.
Thnk u
Not a bad movie. If only palance woulda eased up on the ham. 🎩
Here's to the unknown French soldier.
this is described as a comedy? In any case, the directing is pretty bad.
The beautiful Joan Fontaine is still with us at 103.
Wrong sister..
It is her sister Olive de Haviland, Joan has long passed away. Sory.

Stylish old films
How'd they get so many name brand actors in a "B" movie??
show me the money
who was the chick that played elsa?

Would love to see it in 3D! Is there anyway to get a copy?
This is not Olivia.

I guess you were a paying fan at the time ... That's why you have a lot to say Michael
Where in the US? were al those PBY's stored
@Scott Wiggins Taxpayers' money: hundreds of thousands of planes were scrapped a.s.a.p. so the production-lines could churn-out newer stuff.

Douglas Fairbanks Jr.???
... is not in this movie. Your point?

Top cast and brilliant story. I loved the ones that left me with a hundred sad and conflicting emotions.
The movie Was made entirely in studios in the US. Too many American car. Morocco tangier was a French colony in those days 1953. is Not even one French car in the street.
The POS French cars fell apart on the boat in the way over.
look at 1.28.20 and follows; there are French, British and American cars in this film
