Did you watch Emiko & Gene’s podcast that I linked ? That’s what inspired me to do this rebuttal video. They invited the usual suspects for a product launching and they saw these Videos. I’m surprised none of the female attendees never spoke up (if in fact there were any present…..I’m not sure). I’m sure the “Men” that were present either got a good laugh out of it (shame on them) or didn’t have the Balls to tell them to pull the ads.
@@joeygsaudiochannel3972 I didn't see that. You would think that someone in marketing would have thought that it could be offensive to women. Harman has changed so much since I worked there. I think the Samsung has had too much influence on the daily stuff. I am not sure their marketing dept. could sell hookers on a troop ship.
Hehehe...You made me laugh, Joey. You called it. That was sooo annoying. AS a woman I found it insulting and condescending. But then, I'm not their target audience for their marketing and advertising anyway. I'm old school and grew up in the era when everybody had a good home system of a decently powered receiver, full sized speakers, a turntable and often a nice cassette tape deck so we could record our music to play in the car. But I must admit that even during those lofty days of good audio equipment (now called vintage gear) not a lot of women knew much or cared enough to search out their own stereo systems. Mostly, they relied on their boyfriends, brothers or husbands to buy them and set them up in their living rooms. That's not to say that the girls didn't also love music or bought record albums of their favourite bands and artists. But I don't think the technical aspects of getting good sound from a stereo playing your favourite records was a thing that most women got into to a large degree. I guess it is a lot like how guys were always into the engines of cars and wanting to know how to get more power out them. Women were happy as long as their little stereos sounded good, wasn't complicated, and didn't take up too much room, and look unattractive with the rest of the furniture. That was all that most women cared about when it came to audio gear. That series of commercials by JBL just annoyed me, and made want to slap the actor/model who was speaking all the dialogue lines in the pieces. As IF she even knows anything about what she's talking about!! I have zero tolerance for contrived BS from companies that are trying to sell you something, and especially when they tell you nothing of value and dummy down what scant information there even is. Just give me the facts and hold the BS, please. Rock on, Joey. I like your straight on, cut the BS approach to your reviews on this channel. 👍
My Wife watched it and went WTF ? Thanks for watching Carrie. My Wife while hearing impaired on both sides (Hearing Aid tech is amazing now with Bluetooth & Noise Cancelling) grew up the same way in Mexico City. Always had a decent Stereo in the home and knew how to work it. She won't touch my stuff going on 26 years together. Her one stipulation. When I press this button. The TV better on on along with the sound. I'm her "tech support" (fake East Indian accent) when everything goes South.
