Does catchment area depend upon Topographical nature of land??Suppose i live in Kolkata,,where River Ganga exist..So what will be the catchment area of river Ganga on that particular place,,how we can define The catchment area.. maam i couldn't define yet the practical purpose of Catchment area,,so it will be very helpful for us if u analysis it once again with some real life example..We know that River Ganga meets with Bay of Bengal,,so what will be the catchment area on that particular case,, every River stream meets with sea,,so whole area is to considered as a Catchment area??..
How does the seepage loss occour and explain the difference between seepage and infiltration briefly..U considered infiltration and transpiration as a outflow water??But why Infiltration and transpiration have been considered as a two different components of out flow,,From my point of view the amount of Infilterd water which is used by Tree roots is termed as transpiration water ,,so I think the amount of water used for transpiration is a subpart of Infiltration water,,so why we consider transpiration also as a outflow catchment water.. How is the seepage loss occour??And subsurface runoff means,,water is In motoin below the water table in horizontal condition??So how law of hydrostatic is applied on that fluid below ground water table??(Dynamic fluid,,with motion)..and water through the soil subsurface can reach the river or sea once again??How is it possible??
