Eurovision doesn't mean anything to Cèline because she was already established in the global French-speaking market. She just needed a springboard for her career in English. Just note that during her tours, the setlists for Québec, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium were one and for the rest of the world is another.She not died,people.

Timeless masterpiece, my favorite in 1988 and a deserved winner. Gorgeous melody, inspiring lyrics, and a phenomenal vocal from Celine, this is a true diamond.
This is one of my faborites winners ever.
Back then you didn't need a big show to win Eurovision. Celine had amazing vocals and she was just standing there and won Eurovision.
I remember the voting. My country (Yugoslavia back then) vote last and gave no points to UK and 6 points to Switzerland and assured Céline victory.
That voting moment has to be one of the most thrilling events in Eurovision history!

My understanding (and I hope I'm wrong) is that she has a degenerative illness from which she sadly cannot recover.

I had a ticket to see Celine for the first time in Washington, DC in March 2020. Then of course COVID hit, and the tour kept getting postponed and then eventually cancelled. Sadly, I don't think she'll ever tour again. I just want her to be happy and healthy. ❤

Many years ago Eurovision gave birth to the singers who are known worldwide, Eurovision nowadays it's all about glitter and glamour and things that aren't related with quality music which is kinda sad!

NO! It only works for some entries, kills many others: e.g. Maneskin, Baby Lasanga, Kariija, Blind Channel would have been ruined by the orchestra. Plus, it would be a logistical nightmare to organise. I'm glad the orchestra is gone, it sounds so old-fashioned and the only people who want it back are the elderly viewers.

I am a young eurofan. I think that letting the choice for each entry to use or not the orchestra would be the best option.
You have the plenty of entries that would have sounded better with the orchestra : that is a fact.
Moreover, San Remo uses the orchestra and it keeps being a fresh and modern music festival.
