You missed plenty of Madonna albums, Immaculate Collection, I'm Breathless, Something To Remember, Who's That Girl, You Can Dance, Evita, GHV2, Celebration etc.
A lot of these are greatest hits compilations, not original releases.
Without taking into account the Best selling compilation album! The Immaculate Collection sold more than 40 million copies! Without streaming!! That's why M is thee Queen!

@@tchaugn for example Abba album sales are low, but their ABBA Gold compilation sold extremely high which makes all their album sales huge on chartmasters compared to individually. This is done because you can’t track the streams of compilations because when a song on a compilation is streamed it counts for the album

I don't think it was included, because it was a compilation album, not a studio album.

It was harder back then and there was no streaming service
Album sales peaked in the 2000s.
It was easier back then because people were actually purchasing music and there were physical units that could be counted. Now people just stream a couple songs here and there, and you can't get a proper count.

this is not about who's been longer in the throne, this is about sales, just to make sure, Madonna's first 4 albums sold around 100 million copies, and beyonce's 4 first albums sold 50+ million, even if you compare albums sales today, taylor sold more albums than beyonce, so is Not about how many years head start Madonna had.

I think it’s all apples to oranges, but obviously Madonna has had wider worldwide success than Beyoncé, who’s core audience is the States. I really don’t care when it comes to it. chartmasters has daily updates, Beyoncé is at 98 millions (+50 millions with Destiny’s Child). Maybe chartmasters with their CPSC method uses a different way of counting streaming/digital sales/pure sales, but it’s up to date

@@tita390 chartmasters is a very serious source with a very transparent method (the CSPC method that allows to compare all formats). The music industry often makes inaccurate claims just to gain attention, such as saying that Mariah or Celine are the best selling female artists of all time, or saying that Elvis and The Beatles sold 1 billion which is based on an old counting method according to which every artist that sold 167 millions records would have reached 1 billion (including Mariah). Reality is that according that the CPSC method they sold between 320 and 425 millions, not more than one billion. That’s why I am saying that the method used is important, maybe chartmasters and columbia use slightly different counting methods. Chartmasters is unbiased and very up to date, I don’t think that they would disregard Beyoncé’s latest sales, given the fact that they update sales daily
