    Obsessed with your colorblock sweater. Isn’t it always like that? When we can actually stay with that limbo when plans go awry, often we make space for something even better… but so hard to remember when you’re in it! Well done!

    Ladies I enjoyed your podcast very much. Love hearing you both chattering away about all things knitting. Can't believe how quickly you both turn out projects. I think I probably knit one sock in the same time you finish a whole sweater. The ranunculus sweater is on my list as I've heard/seen so much about it i think I should make one. Looking forward to the next podcast & thank you for keeping me company whilst I make dinner. 🙂

    Rainy day here; perfect for catching up with your genius projects and all the useful tips. The Nordiska! Slippers! All the Ranunculi! Ooo, and the tray for Amina, the neat flexible bobbins, and then the zip/binder needle organizer! (I have a large, light basket with a handle for my sweater project “containment” - works great for me, and easy to tote from place to place, toss a white lint-free cloth in first to guard against any possibility of snag; cloth gets set on my lap if I am working with dark yarn- the white contrast helps with seeing the stitches. )

    Kim love your knitting spirit - I was sort of in a rut because I am a monogamous knitter, but after hearing you I have now cast on my first brioche project to keep me entertained. So now two project on the go and my knitting mojo I think has come back. Jonna - you will absolutely enjoy knitting the Mare shawl. I love the pattern so much I created a topdown yoke sweater with the flower design. The Mare shawl and Mare sweater are my most worn winter knits. I am on Ravelry as the WoollyNeedle if you want to see the sweater. Glad both of you are better and I look forward to you segments. ❤️❤️❤️

    We have entire families of ground hogs. We put up an electric fence around the garden. It doesn’t keep everything out, but we can get a lot more than we would without it. They can chew through a garden in one night. Then there are the rabbits, deer, squirrels, etc.

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna

      I think that is the only thing that might work. Yes, he destroyed everything in short order!! The chipmunks like the tomatoes. The beds are raised so it keeps the rabbits out and it's fenced so no deer. :-)

    I was so glad to see a new podcast up and that you are both well. A lot has been going on your lives. Kim, I love the idea of keeping your intarsia knitting on a tray to confine all the bobbins. Genius! But there is no way I could have all those ends going at once. Too much for me. I love your sweaters. It takes me a long time to make them. I keep thinking that I will make more when I retire in a couple of years. Jonna, over 20 years ago, I came up with that same idea for keeping my needles. I had a lot of dpns back then. I got a 4" binder that feels like canvas. I wrote "Knitting Needles" on the end, so I could identify it on a shelf. I bought the zippered pouches made for 3 ring binders to hold school supplies in. I used a permanent marker to write the size needles on the pouches. Best dpn keeper ever! Have a great spring and summer. Look forward to seeing you next time.

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna
      @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna  2 года назад

      Thank you! Another viewer mentioned (and I thought this was genius) to write the brand and type of needle on a card inside the pouch so you don't have to pull them out to see which length cords you might have. I will definitely do this too!

    So nice to see Norwegian yarn in use and talked about. Finull is made from norwegian sheep, and 100% made in Norway. Sandnes Garn often uses wool from other countries, not Norway - so look out for the origin of the wool in their brands. That said, I often envy those being able to buy wonderful yarn from Canada or the US. Taxes and shipping are stopping me from trying interesting yarn that way. Love your channel - love from Norway.

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna
      @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna  2 года назад

      Thank you! The quality of the finull is outstanding. I loved working with it and the colors are so beautiful. It's durable, affordable and next-to-skin soft. What more can you ask for?n Kim and I want to visit Norway (and secretly want to hang out with Arne and Carlos) as soon as we can!
      We are fortunate to have access to many locally-produced yarns here. Thank you for watching! Jonna

    Hi in one of your episodes you talked about going up or down needle sizes to make a sweater that fits I found a web resource by TinCanKnits about knitting a sweater to your gauge using some simple math. Multiply your “# of stitches per inch X # of inches desired ( the size you want to make) = # of “required stitches” to make the sweater at your gauge. You then just go to the place in the pattern after you have divided for sleeves and casted on your underarm stitches and that is where you will find the total # of stitches needed to match your “required stitches”

    I do the same with my needles -storing them in a three ring binder with zip lock plastic storage bags 😊 good minds …

      Completely agree. One viewer suggested I inventory the needles in each ziplock and write the lengths and materials on a card, which I have since done! Big help. I may invest in some sturdier plastic binder pouches with slots for my inventory cards. Jonna

    Jonna love your colorwork sweater! Kim, your intarsia is a NO F***ing WAY 😱! Some day may try an intarsia project but that one - tons of color change AND cables - ahhhh no. Kuddo’s to you both!

    Well, I just found your podcast and did a Kim and went back to video one and have binged watched clear up to this last one. SO much I could commment on! I just enjoy you two so much! You have brought a smile to my face so many times the past few days. I am like Jonna in that I have several projects on the needles (10, I think) but I have finished all but one that was started previous to 2022 and I think I am frogging it as I'm just no longer in love with it. But Kim impresses me with her monogamous knitting so I have decided I am going to monogamous knit 2 projects and work through them until I am down to just one. This however will not include my purse socks. Lol! Glad you are all better and look forward to seeing you again soon!

    Jonna, that is exactly how I store my needles. You can buy zip top envelopes with holes for 3 ring binder from Amazon. My interchangeable sets I keep in their original cases. BTW- as to my previous comment- my Roku TV does not offer closed caption, but my big TV does. Go figure.

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna

      When my Ziplocks tear, I'll invest in some zipper pouches! Thank you. Another viewer also suggested writing the lengths and types of needles on a card to put inside each pouch. I never know which needle lengths I have already! Yes, I keep the interchangeables in their original cases but I keep the cords in my binder. Great minds, right?? xoxo Jonna

    Glad to see you are both healthy! Joanna, the blue is beautiful! It should make a stunning sweater.
    For summer tops I have to imagine that you both have favorite sweaters that you could use to make a short sleeved summer weight top. I really like the Rock It tee by Tania LaValle because it is so versatile.
    Love the podcast! Long episodes just mean I get more knitting done while you keep me company.

    Wow! Amazing sweater knitting you have done. Caitlin Hunter has a 50% off pattern sale today, so I downloaded the Nordiska after seeing yours, Jonna. The colour blocked sweater is amazing Kim- how did you do that in 2 weeks? I just did that trick moving the stitch markers on my second sleeve and second sock and thought I was so clever and there you are doing it too-aren’t we amazing! Lol! That quilt for your granddaughter is so pretty - I wish I had the talent and confidence to pick out and arrange colours like you. So glad you are both feeling better! Great fun spending an afternoon with such charming virtual knitting buddies!

      Yes we ARE amazing!! The Nordiska was a fun knit for sure. Kim is a super fast knitter!
      The fabric for the quilt came in a bundle so at least I didn't have to pick out the prints. I feel like they would all go together in any configuration bc they're so pretty! Thank you! xoxo Jonna
