It’s great seeing reselling is not all roses. I agree $1,000 returns suck. Thanks for keeping it real Pete.
That lady talking about the Bachelorette should be the official voice of Ruby in all future episodes LOL.
She definitely has an animated voice!
She was a meth head for sure
Lol for sure I swear I I thought for a couple of seconds it was Ruby talking
Typical this planet of the apes retard
This job job requires a huge amount of knowledge and attention to details!
And Google. Google helps a lot.
Yeah. No shit.
And a whole lot of patience
There are multiple good websites to research this stuff. It’s a lot of work, but fun.
I've worked in a pawn shop things you don't the price for they either use Ebay which they also pick the lowest iteam sold and that's the price they give or some stores use Amazon but its mainly Ebay
When I went to your shop your bird scared the shit out of me, didn’t think it was that loud lol

Scott Bryant you ok, bro?
That guy must have thought his grandpa never went shopping after 1950 you could tell that was a newer wagon
You got to love those that watch TV and then try to source out old items without even knowing how to spot something old, The idea that someone could look at something modern and believe its made in the 1950s shows me why so many people fail at reselling because they never take the time to learn how to identify something that old by looking at the way its made and the materials its made with, Sometimes i get fellow resellers who bring me old stuff for me to buy and it shocks me sometimes because people fall for the reproduction items all of the time and sometimes people cannot tell the difference between something made to look old and something actually old. Knowledge is king folks, please do your research and learn how to identify things that are truly old/antique/vintage. Great video Pete, that $1k return sucks, the USPS claim refusal sucks as well, i just had them refuse the same thing on me two weeks ago.
Pawn stars and american pickers are fake
Even on video, it was obvious that Radio Flyer was not from the 50's. Those had metal wheels (I think with metal hubs), a different styled painted logo, deeper bed, larger and heavier metal. And the paint would not be that pristine by now. And very polite bird. Carefully places her chew screwdriver down on the window sill.
Of course he knew that wagon wasn't from the 50's. As if google and the internet don't exist and his demeanor gives it away completely.
It's obviously not 50's. They didn't use molded plastic on toys in the 50's. Funny he didn't seem very surprised. He Even said "I just wanted to check it out, I didn't know" Lol. Well he seemed pretty sure when he walked in with it!
Then the guy says "I believe the old ones had holes in the wheels". Okay so your pretty much admitting its not from the 50s lol.
The wheels was plastic. I have a few metal wheel wagons.alot of people use the metal wheels for pedal cars
You are right they were made way heavier weight metal some are still made with metal wheels. It depends on what company made it.
I really love how you treat your animals. You don't just throw them around but you make it their shop too and people can shop around them. Can't stop watching
Cheers
Honey is such a cute cat
Lol " I HAVE A 1950s SPECIAL EDITION" he sounded so confident was definitely trying to scam you
Bless you and that lady’s heart for caring so much for cats and donating. I absolutely love you and your channel ❤
When that lady said "it's- it's- it's- it's- it's- a" I couldn't stop laughing idk. I just didn't expect it.
I thought it was the parrot 😂😂
Yep, same here, and then I realized she’s got a stutter problem😂
@@natesharlette she mightve just gotten too excited and needed to catch her thoughts lol
Stuttering is a real speech impediment
@@alwayslifted9421 yea really.. I guess people don't realize it? I've known people with the impediment and it's pretty miserable for them, sadly. Here's isn't terrible, it's rough when they get stuck on a single syllable. I feel for them man.
In Denmark, people have begun to believe that even a bag of waste is gold
Even the parrot was annoyed by her voice ! LOL!
Same thing goes for storage wars, we used to get good lockers for $200-$300 now everyone is bidding them up to $1,000 thinking they are going to get gold chains, or safes full of cash. Those units on that show are very rare to find.
Free market little bro, try and tell me what to pay for something and we will have a huge problem.
Show is pre determined
USPS denied a claim for me as well. Sent the customer a return label and said it was in USPS possession and that was the last I heard of it. This happened in March! Denied my claim twice! Only $70 but that still makes me mad.
My favorite part was listening to the parrot talk about the bachelor. Great video!
Ruby kills me, she knows what’s important, chew a feather and ignore everything else. She is so pretty.
Watching that bird chew the screwdriver, I couldn't help but imagine what he would do to a finger
I just sescribed to your channel Peter and love watching you in action at your shop.Your kindest and being real stands out from the rest,I watch u about every night and really enjoy you and your workers and your special cat.Keep up the good work.

I got a return too. Was a Kodak projector. I put the power cord on the small storage underneath the projector to protect it. The buyer return it because he could not find it. And he did not answer my steps to look for the storge. Sometimes it happens. Cheers
I really really like this guy. He is so genuine and friendly.
The coolest antique vintage item I got is a gigantic horizontal 100 gallon plus tank air compressor says 1957 on it and was originally sold and marketed for auto body shops as a compressor for painting cars only nothing else. Ingot it from my parents because when we lived in cannada for 8 years cause dad got stationed there with the USA airforce my mom started racing asphalt circle track racecars and that compressor was in the tech barn where the top 3 cars from each class get tech after the feature races to make sure they are legal and that compressor was there supplying air for the tech guy and crew guys to use to take off what ever part the tech guy needed to check or anything really and we brought it back to the states with us never been restored ever and we used it for the 17 years I raced asphalt racecars from age 9 10 age 26. And we used it just about every day for 5 hours a day working on racecars or building racecars and painting racecars as well. It has never had a oil change we just added oil to it as needed cause dad was scared of the motor seizing up or blowing up lol it was a Joke we had but we just change oil once every 3 months and that's it heck it still has the original belt on it and it's in great shape it's not dry rotted or worn looking at all looks like it's been on there 100 years but it still works don't fix something that isn't broke mentality we have twords this compressor and it's still kicking and working like it's brand new to this day in my shop now and I use it to build my son's racecars I'm 30 and he is 5 racing champ karts then next year he will be in a bandolaro going 80 mph around the track. We take him to every open practice night with it so he can learn to drive it and get use to it and he is doing great he is going fast enough after his second time in it to be able to run top 3 consistently. So basically this air compressor is seeing third generation of racecar driver in our family is all I'm saying now

We have that same wagon - looks identical. We bought it for our kid in mid or early 1990s. The grandparents probably bought it for the grandkids when they visited.
That was so hilarious how he said that it was from the 1950s I just bought my nephew a wagon like that and it was like 100 bucks you can find them on line or even at Walmart that’s where I got mine lol
Even the bird screamed “that’s a lot of crap” about the wagon
I had that same red wagon back in the late 80’s as a child.
The Parrot was chewing on a screwdriver lmfao then put it down 😂😂😂😭😭😭😭 I love the Animals there so chill ❤
I appreciate the channel! We do gain allot from seeing the ups and downs. We appreciate the value you give us!
I love the way you have animals all around you and care for them, the days pass better when we enjoy their calming company, unlike some of those noisy customers ! just kidding your work ethics are commendable, people think it is easy reselling, far from it and getting worse with these Amazon returns we keep hearing about, thank you for your time in uploading your day sir.
That last bit at the end -- That is why I would not want to do online Ecommerce - too many people trying to scam and steal.
If there was a Video of you packing and shipping items right there on the spot, you would have proof item was in when sent, doing this for every single item is insane and overkill. You just can't win
Wouldn't it be smart to use voided tape? So if the tape is broken, it's been voided ect.
That's one of the most funny things I've seen …….. It sounded like the Parrot was talking when that lady was talking and laughing. It was perfect with the Parrot holding the screwdriver and talking.
good call on the radio flyer. I had one. born in 1988, got it before I was 5 years old....circa 1993
"She found it on a curb"
Meaning she found it in someone's driveway/garage while they were inside washing their hands or something, about to come back out and continue working.
Kanade Tachibana yeah because people use their bench saw in their driveway😂 thing is a couple decades old, you really think someone wouldn’t put that on a curb?
People where I live leave old stuff like that on the curbs out side their houses all the time they don't care if some one takes it because to them it's just junk or they don't have the space for it any more and don't have the time to actually get rid of it them selfs
Your a excellent genuine person. Living the American dream. Enjoy your show.
I'm in the UK and I have watched pawn stars several times and I believe that they rip people off all the time but I see you being fair to people offering fair and truthful prices to your clientele

The cat at 1:50 was like I run this shop
I had that same metal radio flyer. Gave it to my neighbor to put plants in.
We eBayers love returns. I just got 2 returns, 1 for $373 and 1 for $160. That really cheered my day. I loved the buyers so much I had to block both of them.
I know right? And MOST the time they return stuff for the dumbest reasons. Mainly because they can't read the listing. Like OMG NO BATTERY!
Derrin Eckelmann go to ebay site map and search "block bidder/buyer"
@@Sellit73 offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin
Lol reminds me of when I tried to sell my 50 inch lg worth 380 brand new for 50 dollars because of a line in the lcd... we spent 2 days talking about meetups then she finally tells me oh I didn’t see that it said damaged on the listing 🙃 she thought she was gonna get a brand new tv for 50 dollars lmao?
@Majora's Bulge this isn't always true. Some people return many things and others buy for the explicit purpose of scamming because eBay and PayPal almost always side with the buyer
Thank you for the time it takes to make Content Pete.
Hey PETER, The lady who returned 45 pieces.. Check to make sure they didn't swap the products for counterfeit cosmetics or even swap the cosmetic creme inside. Or it could possibly be the cosmetic company testing you if you are selling genuine cosmetic products and not counterfeit chinese stuff. Otherwise I don't think people just cancel return and change minds for $1000 of cosmetics.
One thing in Pawn Stars that bugged me was the time a guy brought in a 100mm Japanese naval binocular. They looked at it and declared they were useless and bought them for $500 or $600. Amateur astronomers use these for the Milky Way, especially Barnard objects, and a good set of 100mm Japanese naval binoculars easily fetch $6000 to $10,000.
Well they have to pay their "experts".
Far better than Pawn Stars !
Keep on Keeping it real.
I collect a little of everything

I love watches of all kinds
I love finding old Leica cameras at garage sales where theyre selling grampas old junk 1950's camera for 5 bucks :)

Not the parrot 🦜 biting the screwdriver literally TAKING pieces off of it 😩
Pete, USPS routinely denies claims initially. Persistence and help from your local Post Office May help you get it appealed and paid.
USPS also denies running over your $1000 computer during shipment.
$1000 auto-return and refund sucks!!! The eBay auto-approved returns happened to us too. We changed our return settings to now require an RMA number that we must enter upon notification of the return before eBay can issue the shipping label. It also allows us a couple options in dealing with it. Have not had an issue since.
Not sure how to change return settings also what is a RMA number? Thanks. I am rather new to selling and have never had to deal with a return.
@@donwaters2941
RMA = Return Merchandise Authorization. Go to your account settings, select Site Preferences then scroll down to Return preferences and click on the Edit button. Scroll down to RMA number and check the box giving you the option to add an RMA. Hope that helps.
Thanks for keeping it real! You’re the man, Pete ✌️💚

Sorry to hear about the losses Pete. Praying for a big wave of momentum to make up for it and more. Thanks for all the videos, I’ve learned a lot from you.
Thanks for another great video Pete or it was very educational entertaining funny and that lady in the shop was a blast I enjoy watching your videos of y'all work day they're in the shop and conducting business not only educational but they are funny as hell sometimes and that bird is amazing there's never a dull moment with her she is a trip and at the end of the day the camera goes flickering and you get all of the bad news of these returns I know the feeling as far to the course in this line of business but it don't really stop us from going forward just slow us down a bit and make us work a little harder to recover from it that's the good thing about the reselling business even though we get dinged here and there from other people like the shipping companies and eBay and of course bad customers we still survive because we make it right take the lick and move on thanks again Bo
I feel you Pete my day went to shit as well. Actually started yesterday and continued into today
This is why I stopped selling on Ebay. That and all the fees. Really at this point, the reputation Ebay built in the early 2000s is keeping them afloat because it's almost complete garbage for sellers these days.
I disagree, ebay works well for reselling items that can be shipped, and unique enough where it is hard to move locally. You just have to be moving items that have crazy margins. If you have tights margins and you have to accept a return and pay shipping or it gets lost, it just isn't worth it.
@@andrewshevchuk2062 yep I agree. The question is, how does one repeatedly come up with high margin investment purchases to make a 6 or 7 figure income like these youtubers claim? I've been selling on ebay for over a decade and have yet to find that missing link

Being in business for myself, I feel for you. A day can go into the crapper in a matter of minutes. Granted, I don't own a business that is anything like yours, but I still experience the same ups and downs. Problem is, I can't think of anything I'd rather do than be my 'own boss'. After 10 years of owning my own company I've discovered that when things are good, they are really really good> But when things are bad, they are really really bad. There never seems to be a normal.
holy crap the jaw power on that bird! That thing would take a finger off. But, for me, the star of the show was Milo. My dream is to have a shop like yours with My cat and a Dog yet to get, hanging out. but my problem is, I will need to be medicated to deal with people all day and not beat the crap out of them.
Ouch, that ending was painful. It was fun to watch a day in your shop though!
I stopped selling on ebay many many years ago because of stuff people would pull on me and ebay would side on the customer. Plus ebay charged me a fee that they wouldn't return. It's sad when this happens. I hope things have improved since. Oh I'm a new subscriber. I like watching the scammers trying to scam you. lol I think it's funny.
The absolute worst part of having an Ebay business is having to deal with the USPS on the regular.
That shop cat 🐈 is chill AF 😂
Pete, your show is better because you are real. Pawn Stars and American Pickers is entertaining, but not real like you.
My wife and I picked as a hobby for 30 years and as a business for six years. I'd still be doing it if i was physically able. Picking is not for amateurs, you have to study for years to get good at it. Yes, you don't get good at it by watching American Pickers or Pawn Stars, you have to do your own research. You have to learn to spot quality, evaluate condition and know the market value, and you will wear out a lot of shoe leather along the way. That being said there are amazing finds to be had, if you know what you are doing.
One of my best finds happened only because I read though 11 websites to identify a very rare makers mark at an auction. Sevres always used a crown to mark their porcelain, EXCEPT during the reign of Napoleon when their production had hand painted lettering. Everyone else dropped out when I bid $600, they made a $7,000 mistake.

sorry to hear about your ebay troubles at the end of the video, i get screwed sometimes too!
I don’t sell much on eBay but when I do i wait until I’m at the post office to drop it off to tape it so I can have video of the contents, taping it and putting in the drop box.
7:45 pro tip don't leave the capo clipped on the strings for more then a little bit, if it sits on there for too long especially on cheaper guitars it can dent the frets. Just clip it on the headstock instead (I have no clue if you already know this and just had it clipped on for the video but🤷)
No.
Those last 2 , claim and return. Just Jack it up as the "cost of doing business" and move on. I'm sure you are used to those things hapening from time to time. Keep up the great videos I enjoy watching. I think you are a very kind and honest person, the world needs more people like you.
