Guy - "If I come back in a hour, your offer still stands?"
Parrot - "Yes"
See he agrees 450
I had to rewind that a bunch it made me laugh to hard
Parrot is clearly smarter than the guy.
My heart goes out to the guitar guy. It was obviously really hard for him to let go of that guitar!
He owned for over a month. Sure.
elvis316
He also lost about 600 on it in that space of time and may have spent a long time saving for it. He was really attached and choked at the fact he had to sell it but not to the extent where he was delusional on the buyer having to have some room to make a profit. Feel for the guy
@@mrm5183 possibility.
He has four others but no rent! PRIORITIES
What if he ripped it off? .. he made himself $400 and will save even more on rent when he goes to jail 4 free, later (◠‿◕)
"How about $420? That's a happy number!"
I lost some respect for Piotr when he didnt jump on that^^
@@Schmuni I knew he has Polish roots :)
🤣
Take that Les Paul to a used guitar shop, you might do a little better.
Dave7777 he would definitely do better at a general music store.
great idea if this video wasn't 3 years old
I would have gave him that $400 and taken that to the house. I bet thats a big problem with running a business like that. All of a sudden you need a Les Paul.
might have? ya for sure
As long as it's not in shite conditions. And not a bad copy. And depends on colour and age.
That accordion sounds sweet. Love the old man: "If I die tomorrow the kids will just throw that shit out." :D
Seriously........$400 for that guitar??? You guys must be loaded rippin' off people like this!
He has to re-sell it for a reasonable price and make a profit. Even if it's brand new it's still technically 2nd hand so just that lowers it's value.
When he looked it up he said another one sold for 650...
"$400 buys a lot of weed"- The final convincing thought of the guitar guy
Nicholas Del Giudice $400 pays a month of rent
It really doesn't though😂
Lmao
Rx Terps You couldn’t get that good of rent living in a bathroom
He was really ramming it hone.
"Brand new"... means not used... lolololol
Taking it out the box is barely considered used it's not new but it is mint. When you buy a "brand new" car it's still got a few miles on it
@@Koda716 it doesn't have miles from another customer so the guitar was in fact used because it was bought new by a customer and used lol
@@billybiker5712 aye we all got opinions lol him playing in for an hour or 2 isnt used to me I'd consider it just being tested 😂
@@localdrummerweb actually, you can purchase guitars new in box from stores, of course, that depends on the model and all.
A “like new” Les Paul tribute doesn’t sell between $600 - $800…more like between $800 and $1000. They are $1200 new and hold their value.
Yeah man. I feel for the guy, he must’ve been in a really tough spot to sell it at that price. Just look at his face when he shook the hand.😢
420 is a happy number lol
Was this a joke?or was there something special with this number?
420 is cannabis

I started selling on ebay last week , got inspiration from your videos !. Actually sold my first item within 3 days.
CanadianGarage : Cool and congrats!
CanadianGarage Congratulations. Pete has some of the best content in this space. He's a huge inspiration for all of us. Most of the content creators sell in specific niches I like Pete because he sells all kinds of stuff and has a store. Something I aspire to do someday.
@Ned Ryerson lol
@John Smith that comment right there is why you will make minimum wage you're entire life
@John Smith how is that ripping people off? He's in visitor make a profit. Can't make a profit if you buy retail and then sell retail...lol.
That guy with the guitar is a walking life lesson for all the kids out there

Thats exactly right- in more ways than one..
Lol yeah he’s a loser like the rest of ya!!
You could have kicked him the extra $20 on the Gibson since you were already beating him up.
He's extremely fair. I would have offered 300
You guys obviously dont know how a business works. It isnt a charity. If you start feeling bad for people you’ll get burnt. Remember these guys are trying to get the best price possible just like you are, and you cant trust everyone. Trade is always equal, he didnt force him to pay $400.
Lemmesmash - Yet here you are
Guys running a business, not practicing the guitar at home.
I can't watch these videos anymore. You guys are way to greedy. It's just one low ball video after the other, taking advantage of people when they need help. You literally low ball someone, buy their item, and when they walk out-start talking about how you will x4-x10 your money.
There is a BIG difference between good business and taking advantage of people...
I just started watching his videos but I totally agree. He know he could have gave that man $450 at least. Hell he didn't even wanna give him the extra $20 the guy asked for, sad!!
that old guy was so right, it's a shame how people's family just throw that shit out without a clue...
Vicky was so cute, looked a little embarrassed she got a gift, she deserves one! Funny, she was looking for chocolate! The old gent with the accordion, so sweet, kind of sad. Knowing family will just dump his treasures, maybe there’s hope if they see this, see his things are worth sentimental and monetary value so someone else can enjoy! (If he comes back, maybe hint at that?) I’m trying so hard to not let that happen with my mothers things, but the vultures have already started their trade against me... family drama sucks it! Does Ruby love Milo? Or want to be/ thinks she’s a kitty? Love them both! 😘🦇⚡️Jet
PS do you ever buy from subscribers? I’m in NY, would have to send pics, ship, but at the right price...😉😄J.
It's kind of sad watching the gentleman selling a guitar because his rent is due and a job fell through. So why would buy a $1000 anything? People have priorities all backwards.
Ying Li
The part where he had a job coming, and was going to make money so I bought a 1000 dollar guitar....
I think some folks just don't account for risk. Hence the mindset of "I can afford the payments so I can afford it" that seems to be so common.
Ying Li...please slow it down with the sexiness
Y.L. your are correct. and right is right. best, walt
I just wrote the same thing.
You should be flush in life if you're buying your 5th guitar in my opinion
I can't figure out why i like hanging out at the Trading Post...but it's great. Keep the videos coming!
Hey Pete, two words the "public" falls for..."tribute" and "collectible."
good advice = "never buy a new car to resell it."
always great videos and good business advice.
sorry bud; but the globe is a repop.. thnx, walt
Jeez bought a thousand dollar guitar before finding out if he actually had the job? Jesus
He was lying lol
The accordion guy was actually a great person. Knew exactly how much he was going to get for it and was an excellent forthcoming musician *mad respect*
At his age, (now 2 years older), if he is a forthcoming musician, he'd better get a move on.
I'm retired. Reselling for fun. Made 600 bucks last 30 days...profit!! just playing around with it. LOVE TO WATCH YOUR VIDS..learn a lot
Hey Pete you should look around for a bed slide for you truck sure would make things easier for you and save your back.

This guy is really a whole lot more entertaining than about 70% of the tv shows out there!!!! Does this guy even have an agent????
Because its completely real, its like watching homemade porn, its way bettter than the acting type.
Better yet! No chumlee!!! Pawn stars is good when they dont try to make reality show bits with that moron.
My grandpa plays accordion - watching that man sell his accordion broke my heart💔 he had so many good memories with that thing
Right! How he was talking about playing it too!
Yeah he said he played in the restaurants four nights a week with it so you know he was attached to it but as a musician i can guarantee you he has more than just the one he sold lol

you can tell he takes his job seriously as a business owner and the other two just joke around a little bit when they're wrong the man always carries the baggage🙉
Guitar Center would give him $450 all day. Not that $450 is good either. He probably paid 850 plus tax.
Please peter no show your first finger on people or on 'Vicky' ...show your hand is better ...more respectful ...just a 'observation' thank you !
Just a quick question do you pay your employees a commission or only an hourly??? Listing, selling, etc..???
I think they are family
That guitar looks right. Please watch the YT videos on how to spot a fake Les Paul. The Chinese are getting good at knocking them off. Or at least Google the serial number of any Gibson. That should tell you if it's legit.
400 bucks for Gibson Gold Top ??? Am I missing something or do they really go for that small amount in the US??????

I wonder how many people would take $20 away from their family to give it to a stranger because they looked like they needed it? I’m totally not trying to pick at anyone saying “give the guy $420.00.” I’m just saying this guy makes choices like this all day long. This business supports the needs and wants of his family, friends and coworkers. He’s provided jobs and revenue to society he knows and doesn’t know. And he seems pretty fair in the way he makes deals. I don’t know if he could honestly share his retrospective thoughts on the guitar deal. But I’d definitely enjoy hearing if he liked the deal he made and why. I know if I walked in to buy that guitar, I’d want to pay for it as a new like condition but used. If that makes sense lol. I’m a pretty generous person so I may have done 420. I don’t know though because running business is tricky especially if you’re on camera. The standards you set often seep into other deals. My fav business ran for 13 years before I had to let it go for health failure. I admire the openness of the way he does business. I’m guessing guitar guy felt good enough about the deal that he didn’t even want to call other places to see if he could bump the number up to 420... and to me, that says something about how he felt about the offer. Just one lowly opinion, that doesn’t really matter, from an outsider’s perspective, clear across the country 😉 ~Sheeara, Alaska
Hey Peter ! Would love to send you guys something. Need to know what era music everyone likes ? I️ know you like the 70’s what about the rest of the crew? Let me know and I’ll get it out to you !!

Love that Ruby meows to Milo! Thanks for all the great content Pete, I love that you have gone daily.
I gotta comment on “Victoria or Vicky”.
What really matters is: What did her mother name her? (Or, prefer)
Just an “old-fashioned” perspective
Great vids
That guy with the guitar… that’s the part of this industry that’s really very sad. I’m not knocking the shop owner, he’s just doing his job trying to make a buck. I doubt that he feels too great about taking advantage of a guy who’s backed into a corner. I But these guys do provide a service, and do make cash available to people whenever needed very quickly. It just stings the heart a bit though.
Guitar guy would do better selling it privately for a little discount; we all know that right!? A " garage band" kid with cash or "big hair band" dad lookin for a nice guitar to buy, aint gonna argue about getting a pretty good deal on a new guitar..is he?? No way.. This is a Utube reality show. SNL is successful for doin this format. They know what to say ahead of time, but dont know exactly how it will turn out in the end..it would be no fun for us, if the guy sold it like he should have.✌
He keeps saying it's brand new, BUT he also said he played it for a few hours. His definition of brand new would more accurately be described as slightly used. Plus, it's a model behind.
dude, this is my favorite new channel!!
Dude messed up letting that guitar go
Guitar man looks like he almost start cry at 8:42. Poor guy!
Ahhhh. That's tough for both guys. Guitars prices are all over the place unless you've got something really rare. Beautiful Les Paul, but there's so many out there. That was a little lowball but yeah, trying to sell online involves lots of fees, shipping, etc. The owner could try on his own but like he said, all the running around, haggling, he's not gonna get much more
Nice guitar kind a like slash guitar from Guns N’ Roses but when people don’t have extra money they will sell it like they want their full money back but that ain’t Gonna happen plus they get hurt to get a lower price and it hurts them to let it go then later they regret because it’s gone and the money is gone too and left them with nothing.
Completely screwed over dude with les paul tribute. Could’ve sold on Reverb himself. Seller fees at that time was only 3.5 percent
The fact that you didn’t go with his happy offer of 420 is overwhelmingly disappointing
Love the videos!!! I Like how lil by lil we are seeing more of Adrian and vikki / getting to know them. Side note - I feel like Adrian doesn't like being on camera , which is normal lol but he's warming up to it . Then I was thinking its because he's like a total badass who is like on witness protection and he doesn't want to be found. But it's been like 30 yrs and he thinks it's ok, but then someone sees and shows up and a gun fight ensues like Viggo in a history of violence. In all the chaos they kill ruby / Adrian goes Jon Wick Style!!!
I can only imagine that that Goldtop LP is stolen.
Why wouldn’t you put it on a 1 day eBay auction? You know a resale shop is gonna low ball the hell out of you.
Dumb.
eBay is far from what it use to be? The only benefit to eBay these days is you vastly increase the number of people that see your item. Dealing with eBay fees, Paypal fees, and Shipping is quite off putting to many people. On top of that a new account would mean once the item sold he would have to wait to get the money, because paypal will place a hold on the money for like 14 days or until the buyer leaves positive feedback, and if you frequent eBay as a seller. You would know that most people dont bother to leave feedback at all anymore. There is also that risk of getting a buy that is unhappy with an item. Now you loose time, and the money it cost to initially ship the item, because eBay is overwhelmingly biased towards the buyer. I would say 1/3 of my business use to come from my eBay sales. The constant rising fees, and the hassle of dealing with assholes, using a platform by a company that was inherently biased towards buyers made me leave eBay entirely. Which has been the case for many sellers.
Much easier and less of a headache if you can just walk in a store and sell an item for a descent price.
Mav Div If you think that was a “decent price” for that Goldtop LP, you probably don’t play guitar.
I’ve sold and bought LP’s on eBay with no problem. I get a reasonable prize, and it’s no hassle.
@@jasonbisdead never said it was a descent price. I know absolutely nothing about the price of guitars. Good day to you
Facebook market place might be better. Local sale with no shipping. Close enough to chicago to easily sell that guitar.
*decent price
Just found this channel and have watched a few videos and I'm left with one question...
How the fuck does Pawn Stars have a show and you don't?
Terrible transaction for the seller of that guitar. Makes me wonder if he even tried putting it on craigslist. $400 for that was a pretty low ball offer.
Some here wrote doubts about the guitar seller. After reading some, like the commenter who noticed that the plastic wrap was still on the strap, and no tell tale signs of playing it. He was hard up for cash, but doubt that he bonded with the guitar.
As a guitarist, this kills you, you work, hard learn guitar, finally save up get the one you always wanted, play it and you feel like a rock star, then hard times hit and you sale, been there done that and it sucks bad.
I'm 82! F' my Kids I'm getting $150 bucks for this accordion!
The acordian part was cool. Its always cool to hear people with years of expertise in one area talk about their passion or hobby
I know pawn shops are in it to win, but they all have the same, oh, I might get stuck with it, or if it was blue instead of brown, or this is just going to sit in my shop. I don't understand why folks don't market their items rather than take a beating on them.
420 is a happy number - i knew he's a stoner
I need to start a polka band with that old dude with the accordion
Tell the Italian guy trying to put the blame Vicky is disgraceful.
It's a good day when you get a guitar like that for 400
Very nice of you to give that man $150 for his accordion. His kids would probably donate it to Goodwill when he passes, he is right. Always see them there!
You where very fair
Come on dude, you could of did the extra 20, 420 is a happy number!
@obrbob194 No! Your wrong, it's could've done.
Hey Peter, Love your videos. And love the playful arguments I know how that goes when I'm shipping my ebay orders and something goes wrong Lol! quick question for you. how many videogames do you take in or sell? If you have questions about gaming stuff just hit me up! @vincentsgaming on Instagram as well.
I didn’t see where the argument happened? What did I miss?
BarefootIguana I think it was the whole back and forth about $450 or $400
The title of the video says a good argument is like a tennis match ....... boring
Yep, I think you are definitely right
I’m a guitarist and it’s gut renching when you’re broke and have to sell your gear
Always pawn. You never know what's round the corner.
Could have definitely got more for this guitar. Bet u made 7 or 8 hundred off it profited 400.
I wish the accordian player had played a polka....
This has always been my dream job! Would LOVE to open up a pawn shop! I have always since I was a kid, loved going to fle markets and pawn shops to find something way more cool then you can buy at Walmart lol. I'm 31 and think I'm finally going to look into it since I have to find a new job/a fresh start in life.
If what is put out online is true, bricks and mortar shops are fading out.
There are people who prefer a hands-on approach to buying things, so still prefer shops, but as younger generations come along who spend a large portion of their day on their smartphone, buying (or selling) online will be the norm for them, and the idea of walking around shops, sometimes not finding what you are looking for, will seem a bit weird.
So...(although you probably already know this), set up your pawn shop online.
Start today.
Man, feeling for the guitar guy. He loved that guitar, just had other pressing concerns.
He'd had it for two months and had played it for two hours.
It's doubtful it was one of his prized possessions.
Victoria? Victoria! Why can’t you just listen Victoria!
Dude put the Gibson on Craigslist or offer up for $600 would sell in an hour
I would never sell my guitar. “Look here kids, were gonna have to live under a bridge”...”yay”
Yeah, you'll be able to use it to make some extra money.
NGL that flirting was super cringey 😬
I wish I could have been standing next to the dude selling the guitar - I would have gave him the $500 he originally wanted. I’m gunna start hanging out in pawn shops.....
Sell it to a guitar player...you'll get more than someone trying to sell it on...
you riped off the dude with the les paul. you will get your due . people will see this and not shop at your store
Take it online or to a guitar shop. He legit said it goes for 600-800 and only offer $400. I get he has to make money but it will be a easy flip and profit 300$ after fee and shipping. Love the videos but hated seeing the guy sell guitar so cheap. 500 would be perfect and he would make enough money flipping it too
When selling on eBay if he did get 700 for it .. it is 16 percent fees .. and shipping unless customer pays shipping.. also insurance and time to post ect... The fees would take it down too 600 bucks and so 200 doller profit .. not bad really
I couldn’t do this to anybody....legally stolen.
Victoria ( Vicki ) is such a cute woman …….. You are lucky to have her on your team !
Pete , you need to be more thorough when it comes to buying Gibson guitars . I have recently bought a Custom Shop 1959 60th Anniversary and have had issues . First check for binding flaws . A buying/musician knows Gibson's have had quality control issues . Make sure you try the guitar out before you buy it cause the pots might not be good . Make sure you check the electronics cause someone could swap out the Gibson pickups for cheaper pick ups . Check the tuning knobs and make sure the guitar tuners are not slipping . Gibson can be difficult to get a hold of , ask guitar shops . And make sure the frets are in decent shape . This is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to guitars . Gibson has had A LOT of quality issues so be aware of those not so obvious details when buying . I wish I could work at your shop and run the music dept LOL . Oh and in the winter make sure you humidify your acoustic guitars . It gets cold in Chicago and the heat will dry them out . If you have any guitars that are $500+ , I suggest this . Hang them up during the day but put them in their case at night . What you can do is buy a soap bar case and drill hole in them . Then cut you sponge to fit the case . Soak the sponge in distilled water and rinse the sponge to where it is damp . Place the sponge in the case . You can also buy a humidifier reader/tester from Sweetwater or any music shop . You want it to be around 40%-55% humidity . Good Luck , Pete !!!
do you get any vintage hockey or baseball cards in your store or do you sell any on ebay?
Please buy Vickie some decent scissors!!
I will never understand why people go to pawn shops to sell stuff like this. Would've sold on the street for that much and more fast! With apps like Offerup and Craigslist, you don't need to sell to a pawn shop. They'll always low ball you.
A great guy in real estate explained it to me 40 years ago:
"What ever it is, it sells for fair market price. You make your profit when you buy it. You take your money home once the buy completes.
