There is something so calming about this channel..I can't stop watching.
I guess it's my interest in psychology that makes me so entertained by watching human interactions in this setting or who knows but THIS is entertainment to me haha. Who knew watching a normal day in a buy/sell/trade store would be so fascinating
can interesting just mean interesting instead of "calming" ... why do so many people have to tell us they are anxious and need to be soothed all the time
@@AlaborJinta Who's saying they need to be soothed all the time? Also, if you don't like someone's comment, you don't have to reply. You can keep scrolling.

That kid with the graded cards was a solid dude. Shows you can't judge people by their looks 💯 👌.
Well normally people who look like that are very cool.
@@Nosfeast It's the suited people you gotta watch out for.
Shit my first judgement was to befriend the guy lol
He has a grateful dead shirt on .....idk how your judgment goes 😂...my immediate thoughts were peaceful
Yeah guy had solid business sense. He knew that all parties needed to make money in this situation. People that try to gouge me/scam me out of a little extra money are the ones I will never acknowledge again. Like, cool, you got that ONE
Flipping a coin made the interaction and sale that much more satisfying to see. I love your videos. Always something interesting. I enjoy seeing how you treat people with dignity and respect even the not to pleasant customers. Humbling to see. I smiled 😊
$25 was the right price to pay, though. The coin flip was a gift to the seller.
Used routers are buyable for $50 .
Ryobi grinder is bottom of the barrel. I wouldn't pay even 10 bucks for one unless I had to grind something off in that very parking lot in order to make it home that day.
I saw those chess sets at every little shop in Afghanistan. I think I got one very similar for like $25
They were everywhere in Iraq as well.
The good old coin flip. Just like in Hardcore Pawn. Kidding, love seeing that real interaction with your customers.
That was funny.
Love how Honey strolled thru the sales🐈💙
Times are tough
So is gristle
Honey is the real star here. :)
The guy with the cards knew his stuff....think you both made good deals!
If, a friend of mine gave me such a beautiful chess set like that for my Birthday, the last thing i`d do is want to sell it.
Couldn't agree with you any more! Beautiful board and case
unfortunately with Bidens recession people have to do whatever is necessary to make ends meet...
I agree
@@chubbrock659 Perhaps but, just look at the work that went into making that and his pal must have thought a lot of him to makke such an intricate piece - this chap obviously doesn`t think of his friend in the same way. I wonder if he knows he sold it for a few measly $$`s.
Looking to get high
There is something calming about this channel.
Loved seeing the negotiations between Pete and the card dude. 👏👏😎🥰. Both pros.
Would a "pro" take _anything_ to a resell or a pawn shop, when they can get much more money selling practically _anywhere_ else? I understand Pete does not do pawns from what I've learned.
@@crooked-halo Pete doesn't do "Pawns" which in my opinion are fucking predatory, ill give you less than a third, and sell you a hope that maybe you can get your shit back if and if being the key word your financial situation gets better, but lets be real if you are going to a pawn shop it won't be better anytime soon. all in all you have a point, but as far shops like these goes Pete is really fair imo, and i'm an recovering Junkie i dealt with my fair share of these types😂😂 they are so bad that around my area i wouldn't even take a trip and trip unless it was gold or higher end coins(cause prices are set for the most part)
@@origintrackz5235 Thanks. I actualy wasn't sure if it was a pawn shop or not. I've modified my original comment to reflect this. I'm also a former addict (2 years on Sat 11/4) and have taken ridiculously low amounts of money for things that were valuable either monetarily or sentimentally to me, just so I could get cash for alcohol or drugs. It absolutely _is_ "predatory," and repulsive to me in hindsight.
@@origintrackz5235Those cash for title loan places are even worse than pawn shops. People losing $20k cars because they can’t pay a $300 loan.
Yoy know, wasn't sure about the hippie at first. But he seemed like a solid dude. Understanding and wanting everyone to win.
Same - I was waiting for him to try some sketchy stuff but ended up seeming like a good guy.
The supreme ring is sketchy. If the ring is popular and sell through rate is high, the process to sell on Stockx is very easy. But the major caveat is the authenticity verification. His body language and reassurance to Peter he'd double gave bad vibes. The story of where he got the ring from was sus.
@@uhohitsmidnight ouch. Lol.
He seemed sketchy at first but he petted Honey, was nice to the PS5 kid and was reasonable on the card price and the swap deal.
@@carsonmanzer Also the way he clarified it was specifically Nelson who sold it to him. Unnecessary detail... as if the shop owner knows who Nelson is or how that has any relevance. You'd normally just go "friend sold/gave it to me."
Could be benign but IMO whenever someone brings up a specific name in a conversation with a complete stranger as if it has any relevance or somehow authenticates something when I obviously have no idea who that is tells me something is off.
17:00 I may be wrong. I think that was a missed family member of the channel. If so my sincere condolences. But he is still there. That's a tribute to a well run establishment. A cat a bird a ecletic mob that works. Kudos Pete. 👏
Those chess sets were a dime a dozen in Afghanistan. Every bazaar and street market had them stacked floor to ceiling. They were especially popular on base in the vendors' bazaar. In 2012 you could pick up a set like this for $35 to $50 depending on how detailed it was. I never heard of anybody having one custom made, but I suppose it could have happened.
I met a guy who’s father gave him a fully handmade ivory chess set and board. Guy needed cash so he posted it for $900 on eBay and it was bought within 30 minutes. He thought it was strange but he was happy to get that much out of it. Few months later he was just looking through chess sets online and found a similar hand made ivory set. It was selling for over $15,000. Guy couldn’t believe what he had done
@@djLagwayEnjoyerOuch. Just a 30 second Google could have avoided that regret too..
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Beautiful craftsmanship, but I doubt it was custom made by someone for him.
From watching many of your videos I can tell that you are a very fair and honest person. Not the experience that I've had at most pawn shops or resale shops. Thank you for posting these videos. Way better than that scripted show pawn Stars
LOL, is that you Pete? He scams old people and takes advantage of people in rough conditions.
Literally offers $250 on a $500 item and you call that “very fair”? Get outta here…
@@besteverseenbesteverseen5606That's how a good pawn shop works... If something is worth $500 they're not going to give you $500 for it they're going to give you half of that so they can make profit. A bad pawn shop owner would only give you 10% of what it's worth and wouldn't take the time to show you on the computer what it's actually worth. This guy tells people what the item is selling for on eBay.
literally all NON SCAM pawn /trade shops offer about 50-60% of the price. he has to take the item, keep it in his store, make sure it works, and also takes the blow if it ends up breaking/being fake. it's very fair.@@besteverseenbesteverseen5606
He's ripped a couple people off but usually he's pretty transparent
Watching from Ireland and just recently subscribed .I like this more than that old series of Pawn brokers in Vegas .It seems more genuine and less scripted .Its interesting the different characters that come into the shop .
KIDS! This is a shop similar to a pawn shop. If you need fast cash then you will get 1/2 of what it’s actually worth. It is a great service for people needing money quickly. If you have time to sell yourself then do so. It helps the owners of these stores but also helps someone needing cash quickly.
I loved that quarter flip.hooked on your shop show
You are the godfather of RUclips reselling I love your videos I hope one day to go to Chicago for many reasons but one is your shop
The interaction between you and the last customer was interesting, both of you were knowledgeable and willing to compromise. That makes a great example of how your type of business can be operated, professionally and above board on both parties.
Just came across your channel wow hidden gem your videos are so addicting can’t stop watching super entertaining subscribed!
Man you can see what addiction does to people watching these videos. Some same people coming in and overtime they get ROUGH
Just so you know, the marble pieces are calcite. The one with dual color can also be named banded onyx as a trade name. It could jump the price up, given calcite can go for $10-$15 a piece in general if you haven't sold it. I know this is a year old. You could easily get over $250-$300 for the whole thing. If not more.
Naw, there are lots of them just like it on ebay.
@@sweettina2 There's a bunch of different calcite materials all over the world. Some more rare than others. It depends on the type of calcite and where it's mined and found. I've got a crystal business and I'm a gemologist.
So, unless you know the specific type of calcite and where it's from, then you wont know how much it's worth. That's why I wasn't using definitive statements and said COULD. Do you know anything about calcites?
Trippin@@horrortour
Pete you are a great example to all. New subscriber and loving it
Agree. This is the channel I never knew I needed.
That's why I like your videos. You get some of the strangest people that come in and the best part is how you deal with them.
What I really like is how much you bend to be fair.
The coin toss was wholesome...love it.
We just found the channel and been binging and subscribed. Awesome! Very, very cool!
It takes a lot of grit to deal day to day with public and scammers Pete! I can do the online bit but pawn shop that's another animal props to you 👏
Pete, here's an old print I found in a closed down thrift store, and here's the blow heater I used when I could afford an electricty bill. If I look at you while batting my big browns, will you pity me a toss me a dollar?
Pete doesn't own a pawn business. He owns a trading post business. Huge difference. Items are sold to Pete not traded temporary in for a loan etc.
@@garyg8036 stand corrected I know how it works with loans... Comment was more to do with the public sales and dealing with public.
@@garyg8036Yeah but it essentially 100% a pawn shop that just doesn't do pawn transactions but otherwise they are identical
I had a marble chess set made for my father back in the 90’s, it cost me nearly $1,200 total coming from Europe. If I saw someone selling it for $50 it would rip me apart.

Pete needs a shirt that says “Ya know what I mean?” 😆
Or "ill be honest with you."
Surprised at the $25 offered for the angle grinder. Ryobi is a very cheap home DIYer brand in Australia. Corded ones sell new for $30A ($20USD).
LOVED THE COIN TOSS.
i love pawn shops some have the coolest things and i have never seen a pawnshop with cool records like Nazareth
The Dude. You can't beat combination Sleepware & Shopware. Go to bed and sleep in the same ensemble you go out shopping in.
A lot of people don't seem to understand when you sell something with low effort to a reseller they've got to make their money they're not going to put it on their shelves to make it twenty dollar profit. This is a quick way to get money you're going to take a hit you've got to be willing to take that hit.
Got a big kick out of the coin toss! 👍
I love to see Pete win. alot of people come on here hating cause he didn't almost break even lol

9:30 I can't believe he turned down that PS5. If i wouldve been at the store i would have bought it off of him for $300. That's a good deal
At $300 that’s would be easy $150 profit
For starters it’s a digital edition most people want a disc version. Second the lower he can sell it the faster it sells not to mention he can’t be selling it at retail price if it’s used the lower he can bring the sale price the better it is for him.
Not to mention he has a certain margin he has to stay within because he owns a business he has bills to pay employees to pay and everything inbetween
@@IiI_Gogeta_IiI Not to mention it could easily be a knockoff of some kind
PS5’s are easy to obtain nowadays. $250 offer for a used and no box is beyond generous considering retail is only $400 for digital & fairly easy to get nowadays
For $40 bucks less he turned it down. Madmes😢
That wasn’t custom made for him. I hope he doesn’t believe that. The bazaar in Afghanistan had piles of them and they all looked the same. You could get one for $20
I was thinking the same thing. They had all the same souvenirs in Iraq.
I bought a beautiful marble chess board off a air force pilot coming back from Afghanistan. it was much larger and completely hand made.
I would buy that chess set in a heartbeat. My problem would be, I'd take it for myself 🤣 and not resell it.

watching pete interacting with people is very relaxing. little reminder in this video that it's very important to "give" a little to nice people and especially regulars. yeah it's business but having flexibility and letting them have a deal not only builds a nice connection but pretty much guarantees they'll come back. 10 or 15 bucks here or there isn't nearly as important as that. firm and smart about things but not cutthroat, that's a good way to be
What does it say about me enjoying the "Calmness' of this station.........I listen while Im working. Just calms me.
Ya my gold chain 18k yellow gold, 26 inch, rope chain, 53 grams, i think i paid a few thousand for it. Depending how heavy the chain was, $350 is good- probably scrap price.
Gold spot is $54.99 per gram (24k) today.
That means YOU should be paid appx. $45 per gram…on the low side.
(Gold is much tighter profit margins. You typically aren’t going to double you’re money, like typical reselling)
Now…18k is 3/4 of 24k, so $34 per gram at 18k.
53 x $34 = $1,802
That’s a low estimate of what you could get if scrapping your chain.
Not sure I heard the weight of the chain in the video.
@@sendthis9480 Ya I would never sell! I think i paid 2500-3000.

BCCG cards are worth no more than ungraded versions of those cards. Only buy pokemon graded by PSA, CGC, and Beckett (not BCCG),
Card Kid was cool af! Super chill.
What were those graded Pokemon?! I heard some great older sets and promos. Graded Pokemon are my specialty. The price difference between a 9 and 10 can be hundreds or even thousands.
1:01 yeah the Entei and Pichu look like they’re bent and they got a 10?!
It’s baffles me how people don’t understand the simple fact that Pete is not buying their shit for himself to keep/use. He’s buying it to resell. Of course he’s not gonna pay you full secondary market value only to sell it for that same price.
And it baffles me why people don't sell their things themselves on the secondary market and get the full secondary market value.
Because a lot of people are lazy and can't bother dealing with the sheer amount of stupid people they need to deal with on Ebay or Facebook Marketplace wasting their time, not to mention shipping items is also a pain in the arse most of the time.
@@Dwarkarn Ebay isn't too bad but facebook marketplace is a fucking joke! i wasted so much fucking time dealing with people and their bullshit on items that were already priced to move quickly! then half the time when it comes time to show up half most of the time they dont! ebay has its downside too, but nothing like fb market place!
