How cool that the setting is so close to your stomping grounds. What a perfect read for the Thanksgiving holiday! I fight with myself about ratings as well. Wonderful review, AJ!
I added this to my list after this review. Thank you for always managing to give a fabulous review that connects others to what you’ve read and then gets us on board for a new read to our lists.
Happy thanks for giving a review❤ im reading the Everybody's Fool... Chaoter one had me laughing sooo hard. 😂 I can't believe theres a number one. Random selection at ny public library. Have a great 🌞 summer.
A Very Happy Thanksgiving to you, A.J. I've added "Nobody's Fool" to my list.... my son put me on a book buying ban until after I read all the books I have waiting for me so it may be a while. I've picked up "Ducks Newburyport" to get in to again, I don't know why I put it down in the first place, I love it
Great review, AJ! My wife and I read Empire Falls and loved it, though it has been some time. Now you have us both interested in this one. Happy Thanksgiving!🍁
As luck would have it, I picked up a copy of this book last weekend at the library sale. I think I'm going to bump it to the top of the list since I just finished three books and I have an opening. Thanks for the review A.J.! Happy Thanksgiving! I just baked my vegan pumpkin pie. This year I'm trying the recipe by Isa Chandra Moskowitz from her book 'Isa Does It'.
I've not heard of this book, but I loved your review! I'm really curious to know how the characters talked to each other. And shock, my overdrive has it! It's now on my list. 👍😁
Bridge of Sighs by Russo was excellent. I’ve also read Mohawk, which was pretty good. Will get to Nobody’s Fool one of these days. Thanks for your review. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving, AJ! So glad you enjoyed this book. I have added it to my TBR. It sounds like one I would enjoy. I have Empire Falls and haven't read that one yet. Nobody's Fool is the first of a series so does that mean you will read the sequel? 😊💙
I don't think I have read a book where the setting has been in an area I am personally familiar with. 4.5 star read is always a good way to start a holiday! Happy Thanksgiving!🦃🦃
@@AJDunnReads oh, I haven’t heard it was problematic. I have mostly just seen from people who either love or hate it, wether or not they get on with the unlikeability of a protagonist. Some people don’t mind, others can’t stand that. I am for it, so long as it serves a purpose and is interesting. But that’s a fine line to walk sometimes. I think everyone agreed the prose and dialogue were good though, from what I remember.
@@SpringboardThought That's interesting because I found Sully to be extremely likeable. I think they just don't understand people who have his personality.

Thanks, Shelly! The problem was figuring out why I couldn't give it 5 stars.

I hope you enjoy it if/when you read it!
I know people like that too. Great review! Happy Thanksgiving 🍁

Ooh, I hope you enjoy the book. And your pie! 😁 Happy Thanksgiving!
Nice book review. I haven’t read it. Congratulations on 425 subscribers. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks, Jess! Happy Thanksgiving!
This sounds like a fabulous book. I love how you break it down.
Highly recommend. 😁
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you had a wonderful day. This book sounds interesting.
Thank you! You too!

I'll be interested to know what you think of it. I imagine it's not to everyone's taste, but I haven't heard a bead review of it myself.

Thanks, Jolene! I imagine I will read the others at some point.
Nice discussion. I like the title and the cover. I agree a book is better when the main character goes through more recognizable change.
This is the essence of a working class comedy. It reminded me of _Roseanne._

Thanks, Pae! It was fun to read about the local area. More so, the kinds of overlooked people who live here.
Sounds an interesting and quirky read with interesting characters, I wouldn't expect Sully to change over such a short period of time.
And in fact, a person like Sully wouldn't likely change.
@@AJDunnReads He does sound a flawed character set in his ways.
Innnnnnteresting to hear your thoughts on this. It’s a pretty polarizing book. Always fun to read those ones and weigh in.
What's polarizing about it? I never look into these "problematic" or whatever things. I just want a good story. Let me know your thoughts!
