  • Matt heads to the bow and arrow shop to get some maintenance done on his Bowtech Reign 7. He also has a face off between the Bowtech SS34 and the Bowtech Carbon One to see which bow he is going to take home.

Just so everyone knows Bruce works this methodology with every customer. Shoot several, which feels best, proper draw length, form, peep, repeat. It doesn't matter if you're a first time shooter or someone who has been shooting for years. Trust me as someone who just picked up a bow less than a year ago, I got the same treatment with no camera's. What you see is what you get. That is why they are the premier bow shop in San Diego.

You'll really like how well that bow tunes and holds that tune. Mine can shoot any fixed broadhead I put on it same POI as my field tips out to 50 yards or beyond. The bow is a joy to shoot.

I absolutely love my SS34! It holds and shoots so good, it became my designated 3d bow. I’ll probably shoot some indoor with it too. Absolutely no problems shooting a 300/45x or better 5 spot with it

The ss34 is a great bow when you punch the pins out of the mods so you can up the holding weight and make that valley way better also putting the draw stops from the gen 2 reckoning make the back wall perfect

Got my bow 62 days ago as a bday present from Cabela’s (have never shot before). The bow wouldn’t let down when I was shooting last night (I felt something wrong) so I had to release. When I released nothing happened, so I aimed at the ground and unnocked my arrow. Nothing happens and the bow is stuck at full draw with a dangling string now.
The guy I’m shooting with asks me to see it (he’s an Obsession sponsored shooter who’s been mentoring me). When he grabs it the bow goes off. He got slapped in the area that hurts the worst for men causing an instant blood blister and he’s heading to the hospital (luckily it seems minor). The bow is 2 DAYS out of the 60 day return policy. Hoping Cabela’s makes it right. Cams are bent, bow is blown up, everything.
This is the 2nd major issue, last time the cables frayed SO bad from the cable guide that they had to replace the cables and suggested I get this PSE roller that just sent someone to the hospital. They suggested it, I bought it there, they installed it. I do not feel safe shooting their bows anymore even if they’ll offer me an exchange, but doubt they’ll refund it. I was having so much fun shooting 3D, but I will not shoot one of their bows again. (Blackout Epic X2). Here’s to hoping they’ll refund me and I can find a base model Bowtech or something. I’m freakin shattered right now not having a bow to shoot.

Over the past 30 months I have been fortunate to own and shoot the following bows:
    V3 31
    V3 27
    V3X 29
    V3X 33
    Phase 4 33
    Image
    Ventum 33
    Ventum 33 Pro
    VTM 34
    RX-7 Ultra
    Prime Black 3
    Prime Black 5
    Prime Inline 3
    Prime Inline 1
    Prime REVEX 4
    Bowtech Solution SS
    Bowtech SS34
I know, that is a lot of bows, but legit I have owned all of those and shot them and sold most of them in Ebay or traded them at my local shop.
The Bowtech SS34 is EASILY the best bow of this group and 2nd place is a distant second and that would be the V3X 33. I know, it is totally personal and different for all. I just wanted to share that as someone who has had a chance to really shoot a lot of bows - the SS34 is just incredible.
Pros - smoothest draw with no competition, zero shock or vibe, Deadlock system is light years ahead of all other cam lean systems, solid velocity, very forgiving, highly accurate if you do your part, excellent and highly repeatable grip.
Cons - crappy factory strings (serving separation on cables in less than 50 shots), no decent 2-piece quiver options, no integrated sight option.
    Thanks!

The grip on the phase 4 suck, got rid of my phase 4 IMMEDIATELY after trying out the SS34. SUPER SMOOTH and I'm SUPER STOKED!!

For anyone reading this that has a SS34, shoot it on performance. The draw isn't harder but you'll pick up 8-12 fps.

Dude! with all the man love, talk of inches, touching of arms if you guys broke out a bud light I was checking out of this video. hahaha. Great video. I find myself in the same situation as Matt. Looking to buy a new bow (I am shooting a Reign 6 now) but not sure what I want. Really like the SR350. But this late in the year I may wait to see what they do for 2024.
