Hi Stephen, I had a heart attack 2.5 years ago and took up archery to get my exercise. Today I was able to turn my Bowtech solution up to 70 pounds. Love your teaching videos keep them coming bud.
Happy I shot a few bows before deciding on the Bowtech SS 34. Really just felt natural in my hand compared to (Hoyt VTM34, Hoyt Torrex, Matthews Halon). Have shot about 1000 arrows in the past 3 months, and really enjoying the SS 34. Hope to keep it for many years as I don't want to be spending $1500 on a new bow setup every other year.
I bought this actual bow from the video, and it's awesome. Feels light in the hand and the draw cycle is incredibility easy. Even the tuning is ridiculously easy. I loving it.😊 Its was the last one in store at the time. I was so lucky to get it. Steven's review was so on the money.
If it says 70 pound on the limbs, wouldn’t you go with the poundage of the limbs and not the paper tag it could be on the improper bow??? I would say if the limbs are checked 70 pound it’s a 70 pound bow
The best review of yours I've watched to date. You seem to be back 110% from your heart issues, which is amazing and encouraging to others. I'm thinking of running without a peep for hog hunting and you were stacking them in the yellow.
I absolutely love mine! It is so smooth, so balanced, so steady, and shoots absolute laser beams. It’s now a 3d and spot bow. It feels like a hunting bow, shoots like a target rig
Over the past 30 months I have been fortunate to own and shoot the following bows: V3 31 V3 27 V3X 29 V3X 33 Phase 4 33 Image Ventum 33 Ventum 33 Pro VTM 34 RX-7 Ultra Prime Black 3 Prime Black 5 Prime Inline 3 Prime Inline 1 Prime REVEX 4 Bowtech Solution SS Bowtech SS34 I know, that is a lot of bows, but legit I have owned all of those and shot them and sold most of them in Ebay or traded them at my local shop. The Bowtech SS34 is EASILY the best bow of this group and 2nd place is a distant second and that would be the V3X 33. I know, it is totally personal and different for all. I just wanted to share that as someone who has had a chance to really shoot a lot of bows - the SS34 is just incredible. Pros - smoothest draw with no competition, zero shock or vibe, Deadlock system is light years ahead of all other cam lean systems, solid velocity, very forgiving, highly accurate if you do your part, excellent and highly repeatable grip. Cons - crappy factory strings (serving separation on cables in less than 50 shots), no decent 2-piece quiver options, no integrated sight option. Thanks!
Good review and very consistent with all the other reviews on this now. Just for clarification, you refer to it as the "SSR34", I thought Bowtech may have re-released this with revisions but they still have only the SS34 the website.
I had the same conclusion when I was testing it for our review. Only thing I didn’t like about the bow was the SS was the cheap grip Bowtech uses. When changing the mods from performance to smooth, you get the smoother draw at a speed loss. Solid bow and review.
The SS34 has serving separation issues. After about 100 arrows, the cams start to eat into the strings, leading them to fray. Bowtech has a lot of unhappy customers right now. I hope they'll do a recall. For $100 less, you can get an Athens Vista 35, which has an amazing draw cycle, beautiful balance, and a flawless fit and finish.
I never had that problem so you must have the cam too far over to one side or the other something's going on because I shot mine what's 100 and hundreds of times and never had nothing rub
On paper, this seems to be the best 2023 bow in terms of draw cycle, hold/accuracy, comfort/performance options, and easy of tuning. Haven't shot one though.
Appears to be the ideal bow for those seeking a shorter ATA than a Reckoning Gen 2, although 34" isn't excessively short. Dead in the hand as expected from these more parallel limbs. The Reckoning Gen 2 has a little more feedback jump towards the target by design as is more of a specific target bow. The draw cycle seems similar ? Impressive.
Hi Stephen hope you are well. I dont own a bow yet but will be buying one in the near future for hunting. This bow tickles my fancy only problem is all the bad reports on the strings that come with it. Most online forums have people unhappy about the strings wearing and breaking after not many shots at all. I have read that there is a problem with the cams damaging the servings on this model. Have Bowtech to your knowledge addressed this problem as plenty have contacted them regarding string problems? Not keen to spend good dollars on a bow that has faulty strings or a design fault or both. The Core SS doesn,t seem to have these problems. Thanks for the helpful informative videos they are a real help for someone like me. Please stay safe. Regards Noel.
SS34 vs RG2 36 vs Rezult 36 for a hybrid "do-it-all" bow. From Indoor spots to 3D to backup hunting bow. I've shot all 3, loved the feel and shot of the SS34, but still on the fence with it for indoor leagues over the other two.
If you had to choose between Bowtech or Elite which bow brand would you choose? Right now I am shooting a PSE Supra but think I would like to try another brand.
Hi Steven, have you just covered your bulldog target in sunshade? Mines just starting to wear out and that looks like a great idea. Because i remember you saying it was expensive to send the repair kit to Oz. Cheers.
I don't own this bow yet, but I own so-called smooth-drawing bows including the Mathews TRX7, PSE Evolve 31, and Bear Resurgence/Alaskan. But the smoothest is my Diamond by Bowtech Alter which also has comfort/performance disc technology, but not the dead lock tunability feature. The Evolve 31 is second in smoothness depending on drop off percentage. I strength train with pull ups and push ups every other day which has increased my draw weight and ease of drawing my older draw weight. It is good to have a smooth drawing bow when you resistance train because you lower risk of strain injury and can still shoot archery on workout day, i.e. workout in the morning and shoot archery in the evening.
Do you have a recommendation on a budget thumb trigger and back tension release? I'd like to try them just for experimenting like I'm experimenting with arrows.
Is that bow in the OD green. My bowtech as paint coming off all over the grip area. Big pieces. Not covered under warranty. 1500 bow thas has paint falling off in less than a yr and they wont cover it.
BowTech has some spectacularly bad paint work for their price point. Good news is if you don't care about the finish you can get them second hand for a thousand dollars off! 😅
@@matthamilton0081 I just got a bowtech and the finish is absolutely excellent. I heard that it was shit in the past but that they updated it. But of course I don't know how it will hold up over time. Maybe there is also differences in the different paint options they offer. My reckoning gen 2 is in speedway gray.
400 bucks for a string set.... Holy shit man..... Glad I'm not across the pond by you... Here i use archery shack strings and have for years 76 bucks and done
Ridiculous $ at $400. Pure thievery IMO. I get custom 100% quality springs for $80 delivered to my door. I have used this company for at least 8 years on all of mine & sons bows. Probably at least 10 bows each.
It’s a ss34 Not A Ssr34 you do great reviews better then the other bloke you have attempt them but come on Steve if your going to do a review get the name right mate lol I was almost thinking has he got the 2024 bows already

I had a Bear Cruiser G1 for 3 years and just got the SS34. Smooth, peaceful after the shot, beautiful to look at

Love this video, particularly the puzzling over the chronograph operation...
Have one. Love it. Smooth steady, and accurate.

Looked like the chips in the finish were there from the start of the video.
Ive been using the same stock bowtech strings on all my bows, pnce they stretch you retune and its fine, i punch bullet holes with all my old strings

I totally understand that dude driving that far!! I do the same for great customer service, great prices & kick-ass people, like yourself!!!
Yep, Steve is tighter than a fish' ring piece

He carries the reapir kit but you have to pay for it
It's not too bad
just rewatched the review the chips were on the riser from start of review

Have you tested the Carbon One X and how does this compare to the SS34?
