I appreciate that you use store bought items and don't make everything from scratch. It certainly makes your recipes more "doable" in my opinion. I also appreciate your "regular person" vibe. Thank you for posting.

People who "make their own water from scratch" can be irritating. Who has time to combine the hydrogen and oxygen molecules? 😂
Seriously, when I do have time I can make a wonderful pound cake from scratch. I use a weird but easy recipe from America's Test Kitchen, using a food processor to whip up the batter. Easy, simple, and good.

My mom made a poor man's petit four and we called it "jelly cake"; this is still a request from all family members. You horizontally cut the pound cake into 3rds. Spread two preserves, one on each layer (we always requested grape and strawberry, but my mom loved apricot and strawberry). Make dream whip and coat the cake. Refrigerate overnight. It's amazing!!

You could fill the holes of the scrap pieces with vanilla ice cream then into to the freezer. Would make a nice desert in itself. Or, you could save some of your white chocolate and put that into the holes! Viola... another great desert!

I like your "down to earth" decoration style, blue dots, etc. I also like how you serve tea in your music room. Not everyone has one, but can use as an example to create their own tea party atmosphere.🫖

I have enjoyed eating petit fours for all my life. My hometown bakery has made literally thousands of petit fours for as long as I can remember. This bakery has changed hands three times in my 68-year lifetime- most recently almost two years ago. The third owner doesn’t make nearly as well any of the sweet delicacies, including cakes, pies, and donuts that were made by the previous two owners. I suppose all good things eventually come to an end. I also suppose I need to try my hand at making these gorgeous and delightfully scrumptious looking petit fours that you made in this video!!! Petit fours are definitely an old-fashioned confectionery wonder that you rarely ever see nowadays-at least where I live in the south. I can remember when petit fours were a staple when entertaining in the south. I can close my eyes and remember so many wonderful occasions where these delightful little iced and decorated individual cakes adorned every refreshment table at every wedding reception, bridal or baby shower or party I ever attended!!! I just remembered that the grandmother of one of my high school friends always made petit fours and sent them to our school parties and always brought them to church socials-what a beautiful memory!!!

Ah Kevin, I well remember eating petit fours for afternoon tea on Christmas Day when I was a small child living in England, many moons ago. They were considered to be very much a treat. The family sat around the living room fire, and listened to the Queen's broadcast, while my father smoked Tom Thumb cigars. My mother embarked on many projects to prepare for our celebrations making Christmas pudding, mince pies, Christmas cake and lots of other traditional dishes. Your video brought back many happy memories. Thank you! I think I've become addicted to your channel, it provides a peaceful refuge in life. I look forward to enjoying many more of your videos, seeing more of your pets, hearing you play the piano and learning more about all your projects. Your home is a feast for the eyes, so lovingly cared for.

Let me say this about some of the things I notice about the execution of certain recipes, you make me realize that it doesn't have to look like the pictures in the books to be absolutely beautiful and tasty and shareable . Sometimes we do not attempt little Delicacies like this because they are intimidating as I watch your videos I noticed that Perfection is not your goal, and I'm glad because who can reach that by themselves in their own kitchen? Proof it was made with love.

Than you Kavin for inviting me to your music room and share the beautiful tea setting. I will try to make the petit four for my next English afternoon tea, with my friends.

Hello, Kevin! Happy that I stumbled upon your RUclips channel. I love your tea time recipes. My dear friends and I love to have tea parties, mainly to make use of her lovely China collections handed down from various relatives. I hope to incorporate your recipes into our next Tea Party.
