You are so right about the moments that put a smile on our spiritual hearts that is a love the wants or needs it is just pure right love. See ourselves in others with reverence and no judgement ever. Blessing of Health, Wellbeing and Internal Joy that elevates those who come into contact with all of you.
Amazing talk! However I found the graphics to be distracting & counter productive. I would much rather have seen Brene Brown speaking or just the subtitles, though those did have a few minor errors.
Can a seemingly perfectionist and a person that feels shame , just reason with that as being analytical and it not be a problem. if its not a problem too there mind, why is it a problem.?

I love listening to these talks....I have so much to learn.. But I can't watch the video ... Why is it that so many videos teaching about self love show beautiful, seemingly successful people in slow-mo looking forlorn but very attractive. .. For someone that has huge shame about a couple of specific very unattractive flaws, watching beautiful models looking like they need to learn about self love only reinforces my sense of disparity and that I'm not worthy of the self love that they disserve, and that only beautiful people are entitled to that.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It’s so important to have these conversations, and I admire your willingness to reflect on these feelings. Self-love is a journey we all deserve, no matter our appearance.
I noticed that in the video, most of the characters were young, good-looking women in their 20's to 30's (some 40's). Do older people not count? Also, Afro-American people were sorely neglected. I ordered one of Dr. Brown's books, but now I am going to cancel.
Yes and No. Not so many older people, especially as the RUclips progresses, but Afro-Americans and other cultures represented. Cancelling Dr, Brown's book is hurting who?
Well that was racist and judgemental. Was it kind or necessary? Maybe you haven't learned that the world does not revolve around you. Or that honey attracts more bees than flies meaning there is always a nice way to say things to get our needs met. I pray that you are blessed beyond measure. I pray that loving people are put in your path. I pray you see people instead of color. I pray you heal from any hurt you've experienced. I pray you know just how beautiful you are just because you are alive. I pray for you. Yes, you. I love you. You should try it. Your younger self needs you to love and accept all of you. No one is perfect, but Jesus and we aren't Him. But He is on you. God bless you.
Yet the number one tenant of the Christian faith in most denominations is excepting shame as your identity. Penal substitution is one of the most dangerous doctrines to human beings in all of history you were not born a sinner you were born perfect and flawless, and in the likeness of the creator and religion, and the twisted mind of man told you, you were a rotten, dirty sinner, full of shame.
I thought I was commenting to Brene Brown, I know who she is, I still don’t appreciate hearing the language, but understand the emotions behind childhood trauma and abuse… not offense to you!
Thank you for your comment! I understand that the language used in the video may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm glad to hear that you still appreciate the emotions and message behind it.
She's a Texan, it's the way she talks. She is incredibly brilliant, one of our greatest current leaders, and a very talented writer and public speaker. Try not to get hung up on a handful of expletives, because she said a lot more important shit in this 12 minute interview. Try to soak and bask that knowledge instead. ❤

The moving towards in shame acts like the fawning in cptsd.
Thank you for sharing your insights on the connection between moving towards in shame and fawning in CPTSD.

perfectuinist?
❤❤
thank you
Brene says some people were defined by shame. With emphasis really defined.
Actually this was their false belief. Not to be defined by.
Thank you for sharing this insight! It's a great reminder that we have the power to shape our own identities.
Some people suffer from ptsd and most people understand how it affects their self image. ...
Nice
Thank you so much for taking the time watching the video! ✨💖🙏

I’m willing to bet Berne Brown did not personally make the video.
