You realize Tsukasa would’ve figured out if Senku lied at some point and then hunted him down, right? Telling the truth was really Senku’s only option unless he just didn’t give a damn about his friends... which he does.
The deal with Taiju and him being a focus early on is mostly adaptation sickness- the manga initially did very much keep its focus on Taiju, probably to have a more grounded protagonist while Senku acted more as a background source of knowledge. At some point though the author (presumably either gauging general reactions from the readers or hearing stuff from their editor) seemed to realize Senku would be the more interesting hero and better character to play off Tsukasa. Hence the soft reboot and introduction of Ishigami Village.
Tsukasa may not be as smart as Senku but I think he would have the forsight to know if he was lying about the revival fluid. Plus, say he lied and got away with it, there's nothing really stopping him from coming back and going after them again and probably hurting the villagers, if Senku and his friends still met them in this scenario. Senku, despite his villainous tendencies, cares about his two friends enough to where he probably wouldn't take a gamble on their lives like that if he thought he coudln't get away. The flashbacks that we saw in the first few episodes imply that Senku cares about those two and has a close relationship with them; at least enough to where he wouldn't want them to die. When you think about it, Senku giving him the fluid recepie was not necessarily a plot hole.
Yeah, Senku's amazing 😍 He absolutely made the series for me. In regards to Taiju seemingly being the main character in the 1st 6 episodes, I think he was originally meant to be the main character given the fact he shares many traits with the typical "idiot hero," but thankfully the writers realised the audience was tired with this archetype and would much rather see Senku do mad sciencey stuff. Senku dying and having a flashback of how he awoke in the new world and got by was probably meant as a gentle, soft reboot I don't think Senku telling Tsukasa the revival fluid was a plot-hole. He's just a very honest boy, *ESPECIALLY* when it comes to science. It's a core part of his character that he won't lie about science, even to save his own bacon. Heck, in one of the latest episodes of season 2 Tsukasa believed Senku that he could revive his sister during their negotiations because of this distinct trait of Senku's, so yeah, it wasn't a plot-hole for my money. It's just a part of Senku's personality that makes him feel that much more human Also, Senku may come across as a jerk but he's actually surprisingly personable and sociable. He makes friends with Kaseki and Suika and even gives them high fives to boost their morale. Gosh, he's such a joy to watch
Best thing about this show it reminds me to have more appreciation for the stuff we had today, and the near impossible workload that could have gone into making them. Cant wait for season 2. Peace ✌🏻

Thank you so much for reviewing this show. I only got to episodes 1-9. And my TV just decides not to have any more episodes on for some reason. Same thing with Demon Slayer except that I only got to see the first 2 episodes and that’s it.
I think the foil was put in to fill a different role. Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions goes on about tropes like the 5 Man Band. Senku is the smart one, but he's not very physically inclined. He's a little on the wimpy side. Taiju is very physically inclined, more so than Tsukasa. And, Tsukasa is good at combat, good enough to kill a full-grown lion and 1 or 2 lionesses with his brute strength. They even establish it early; Senku handles the brainy stuff while Taiju handles the muscle stuff. That's why they need Taiju. Yeah, he's stupid, but he's important. His girlfriend fulfills the early role of The Heart, which is the one that softens the scene and holds teams together. She is also good with her hands more than Senku is, so she may be able to fix the statues Tsukasa shattered. Senku didn't JUST give Tsukasa the formula. He also gave it to Yuzuriha. If she's going to revive the ones Tsukasa doesn't want to, she now knows how. And, Taiju can help with the labor.
2020 gave us hope with anime lineup so loaded treating pandemic like it's just an afterthought. 2021 will be even much better especially with anticipation of season 2.
That really wouldn't be described as a plot hole. You could call it a poor writing decision ,or explain it in universe that the character wasn't thinking straight because he was nervous, but it is not a plot hole. A plot hole is something that contradicts what is previously established.
The show is a mixed bag for me: I like the science part, seeing how their kingdom of science grows, Senku himself and its theme of appreciating what humans are capable of but the rest of the show is mostly iffy to me. I will give S2 a watch but I am not sure if I will complete it.
Dr. Stone aka let's take Alphonse Elric and put him in a post apocalyptic world where he has Ed's ego and solves problems through science without resorting to any magical aspects...oh yeah & it's a shonen anime without the fighting & crazy ass kicking

@@Stormkrow280 funny thing is because of Goku first and later Naruto & Luffy the "idiot shounen protagonist" popularized to the point that many aspiring mangaka felt that if their work doesn't have one it msy fail. I personally tolerate it and I'm fine with it if there justification in universe Goku started as naive and uneducated (only having interacted with 1 other person at the moment he met Bulma) and Naruto was a pariah starved for attention.
Tbf, Goku was never an annoying, screaming idiot in Dragonball and Z. He only became that in Super when they began flanderizing his character. He was always just ignorant and naive. I recommend reading the Dragonball manga (I'd recommend the sub but with the padding and fillers Toei added has made it pretty unwatchable) You'll find Goku from kid to an adult was actually pretty darned fun. He's surprisingly quick-witted with the snark and a fast learner, too
@@BubblesChika As I said, I don't mind Goku specially in Dragon Ball where came off as ignorant and naïve but actually surprisingly a quick thinker rather than an idiot obsessed with fighting and the power of friendship that last one *was* present since the Cell saga I think but very minor only got more prominent as the series advanced by the end of Dragon Ball Z he's like "I will ditch my family (again for the nth time) to train this kid I never met so I can fight with him later!"

The story reads as if the characters are constantly shouting at each other and less like the super serious show it wants you to believe. The entire story has basically hinged on "oh we have this problem? let's wait for Senku to solve it" While this isn't inherently bad, there's not a lot of fun to be had when most of the chapters are dedicated to collecting items and character development is more often than not put to the wayside. The characters become more like tropes than real people. It's disappointing ShadowACS is reviewing garbage like Dr. Stone and Darker than Black.

He is the most selfless character i ever seen. He wants to revive the planet even if he knows there are tons of bad and really vicious people in this world. To him life is equal. He could've very well not want to teach people of the village and share his knowledge and basically took over the village ( because you know.. science ). BUT, he choose to understand this people and help them. Yes i agree not all of them are fully developed but hey.. with this many characters and only 20+ episodes.. that's not gonna work. Bleach still has the best battles in any anime. Change my mind
ill be honest i tried but this show bored the life out of out of me and i dropped it after a few episodes
