I just bought one for a Christmas gift for my daughter who just bought a house with all vinyl ank floors. She's constantly sweeping & moping. I bought the Walmart deal.
I've owned a Roborock S50 (or s5) since it was released. And decided it was time to try one of this auto-empty units out. Well, I bought this iHome Nova. Great price, from eBay, Brand new. $160ish USD. After a few tries and getting used to the app on my Android Phone. I made my first run. It mapped the house without issue. Only getting tangled in a napkin I didn't see under a coffee table. After that, getting the map split up, and then adding my no-go zones. I then set my schedule up to clean each area at different times. (like with my old Roborock) Everything works perfect for this unit. Even on my black carpet in the master bedroom. The only problem I had was, setting up the auto-empty bin. First, I put it in the living room, with mid-pile carpet. I guess the weight of the bin was to heavy, and the vacuum could never make a good solid connection for the auto-empty function to work. It would however charge. I then took the bin to my kitchen, where it has vinyl wood flooring. I plugged it back in, and the map auto-updated to the new location. The auto empty option works perfect now. Suction power seems fine on both carpet and vinyl floors. So far, I'm very pleased with this unit! Now to find replacement bags, and brushes for it at a good price. Thanks Vacuum Wars for your review!
One of the most important things for a lot of us is the availability of parts. I'd like to see mentions of whether or not the company's savvy when it comes to offering replacement parts on the aftermarket.
I'm interested in a budget model. But I'm concerned if I'll be able to find replacement brushes, filters, bags, etc. This vacuum being a good price means nothing if I can't get replacement parts.
This vacuum does great with 2 dogs and 1 cat on hardwood floors. Reduces that black bottom when going barefoot and picks up lots of hair. Really helps in between weekly or so cleanings.
When will your new “best robots of 2021” video? I need to buy a new robot for a new apartment (all wood floors, no carpets). Do you recommend hybrid robots or buying two robots (one dedicated to mopping), and are their pairs that work together to sweep/mop?
Hi, great review. Could you please add height clearence in your tests? This for me is a deal breaker living in a older house with high thresholds :) I currently have the first Xiaomi bot and that thing is not that great with even smaller heights
It’s literally $255 now; you add 6 months of bags and a 3 year warranty for $300 total. You cannot beat this price point and capabilities. There isn’t another vacuum on the market that has the LiDAR capabilities, has the bin for less babysitting and has this price point. I always look at mopping as a gimmick; if I’m going to get the mop ready for the robot I might as well mop with shark steamer, it’s far better and takes the same amount of time. I bought 2 of these; one for upstairs and one for the bottom and still paid less than Roomba at $599.
I just picked up 2 brand new ones off of eBay for $135 each. I can't say enough good things about this vacuum. For what you get (Lidar and auto-empty) this thing is a steal at these prices! It never got stuck once. My previous two vacuums always had issues running over my thresholds...not this one.
@@AThibs good pickup. I’ve been combing Walmarts for an additional one for upstairs. I ended up getting one on FB marketplace new for $100 so I’m fully autonomous now. Just don’t neglect it and it will run forever. AliExpress is your friend with ordering replacement filters/parts
I have found that this is the only website to check if you are buying any vacuum, because they are spot on. They just clean up the competition ( no Pun meant) If they don't reveiw it then don't buy it! Thanks for a great job on your website!
Hi there, I just made this purchase recently, I had used it 3x now and I do have a dog who sheds a lot. I need help, the vacuum’s tube/air duct going from the back to the bag is cloged. The space is very small, what have you used (some flexible) that can fit to unclog or remove the debris? Thank you!!
How would this measure up to the new Shark Max? Notwithstanding Nova’s extra feature (mopping), is there a winner based on what they do do best? And speaking of doo-doo, which will pick up cat litter and kibble best, but avoid a cat toy or cat “gift”?
Did you say how much the vacuum was at the time of review? I think that is helpful to know, as it's $270 now, and I am unsure if you are referencing a much higher price?
Am I crazy or is this vacuum IDENTICAL to the Proscenic M8? I had that for a few weeks before I reviewed and returned it but wow does this look familiar... Would love to see them side by side
Awesome review as always. Does anyone know how this compares to shark rv1001ae? I used the website but do not see the suction comparison. Thinking of changing my shark to this since shark never got no go zones.
Unfortunately I bought a brand new one also because of the Walmart deal and it never cleaned once. It immediately told me to check “cliff sensors” even after resetting and casing the manufacturer they have no idea why it won’t work. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AS I CANT USE IT.
I have an serious question and I'm not sure where to dm you at so here I go. I'm been wanting to get a robot vacuum and mop for a while but I'm concern about pet pee/poop. How wondering since you never really talk about stuff like that in your videos. How they avoid poop and/or if there is like dry poop like stains how well does it mop up. Thanks. Do love your videos
So far so good. We recently purchased one to use in our FL house. There is tile in foyer, kitchen, a den and a hallway to 3 bedrooms, as well as in 2 bathrooms. The device picks up dirt in grout, even when the tiles are uneven. It is noisy when it bumps along the tiles, but definitely not annoyingly so. Being just the two of us down here, the mop feature works beautifully on the tiles and the bamboo light wood in living room, dining and master bedroom. I am so tickled by ‘Henry’, that I follow him and his cleaning pattern on my iPhone and watching him!! He makes the floors spotless, no dust. I think I’m going to go have Henry do the master, just because!!
Is there a robot vacuum that truly hits a home run? Affordable, AI (for pet mess avoidance) self-emptying, and good at avoiding hair tangles? It seems like this one does well on three of my four criteria, but flunks hair tangles.
can anyone tell if you’re supposed to empty the dust bags or is it a one time use? i looked up the product page on the site and it said they should last 4 months so i’m a little confused
Hi, could you please consider doing a video on the Ecovac's Deebot T9+ (includes it's base station) and mention a few comparisons between it and the AIVI T8 with base station? I'm looking to buy the T8 (with camera) in 14 days, but I always look to your reviews and trust your opinion with my robots. In New Zealand I can get the T9+ for $1399nzd or the T8 and it's base station for $1288nzd so the price difference is insignificant and the current point of difference is that the T8 has a on board camera (also do you know if this camera works in the dark?). Whether you have a review on the T9 before I jump in, I still truly appreciate, respect and am thankful your reviews.
Your vacuum war videos were recommended. They are very well done however I feel like I get sucked into a rabbit hole each time I try to find the right robot vacuum. I purchased the iLife V8s but am returning it because it can't find it's way home (charging dock). My needs are simple. I don't expect it to replace my deep cleaning but would like it to keep both hard floors and carpet reasonably clean in between. I like the "mapping" function because it seems more efficient than random navigation. I do not have to have the mopping or self empty functions but don't object if it happens to be part of the package. Oh, really important...I would like it to be able to find it's way home to recharge when necessary. LOL. Can you recommend a mid range priced (under $300) robot vacuum that will meet these needs? HELP! Thanks!
