Hey Adam, did you ever post anything about this vacuum’s mopping abilities? I was searching on your page and could not find it. If you didn’t post, what was your opinion? I’m deciding between this specific vacuum/mop and a Coredy.
I wish iRobot would listen to there great customers like ihone just did. Thanks for the update. Time to put this through your stress test. What a great price for $399
@@AdamsReviews Maybe check out a couple of their videos. Essentially, they identify a number of let criteria like speed, battery life, cost and others specific to the type of tool. Then they devise tests for each criterion and run them on each tool, assigning the tools an ordinal ranking. Then they weight the criteria and add three numbers up. The lowest number is the "winner" though they now you may weight the criteria differently. I can see you doing comparisons of hand vacs, budget robo vacs, vacs with dump stations, etc. This is in no way a criticism of what you do. I appreciate all your hard work. It's just something that I don't see anyone else doing, so I thought I'd suggest it.
I just got the new version today. The Nova S1 Pro for just under $160 after tax from Walmart. I would literally call it "The Poor Man's Roborock" It's awesome! I just wish it had a full bin sensor, though the bin is fairly large.
Does the bin require bags? If so how long would you say it should take to fill up. Just bought my wife one for Mother’s Day present and it comes in next week!
@@thomaswoodward496 Yes. It says holds up to 4 weeks of debris but I have only had mine for about a week now and the bag is still not even close to being full.
Let’s see a stress test with two runs! I’m glad you got one that worked - because as I’d mentioned, I was super impressed with it. I wonder if there are improvements with it hugging too close to corners and snagging them? Could you check between the two models you have and see if they are different model numbers??
Hi, Adam , in Thailand we have exactly the same but in the named " AUTOBOT ". You can check it out. It works very well and not so expensive. Thank for your review. So far so good I am happy with it. I like the robot vacuum with self empty bin, it is so convenient.
I had issues connecting to Wi-Fi too after about 40 minutes of trying , a lightbulb came on over my head! I use eero6 mesh routers that don’t let you choose between 2.4 and 5ghz. I paused the 5Ghz and started over. VOILA.
also the latest firmware gives it a tiny bit of aobject avoidance . if anything is in front of it within a couple inches it will turn away from the object :) not cords though lol
okay so the only issue with longevity is the clip that holds the dust collector on the robot . over time it will fatige and crack . so what i did is put a bit of sponge in between the tiny gap to apply preasure to keep the dirt bin lid closed . i also added a tiny bit of CA on the stress point of the clip . that is the only issue and it effects all these types of bots that have that dirt bin design :)
Just received mine today. Also experienced the "base alignment issue". For now the base is on a hard surface while the unit recharges. Update: after spending some time observing the Nova in action, here are some initial observations. 1. The Lidar mapping is excellent. The initial perimeter mapping was very detailed and only improved with subsequent passes. 2. The Map editing feature seems pretty straight forward. You can create areas and rename them, add no-go areas and name them as well as the same for mopping areas. Size options are square and irregular shape. I did not see an option to further color code the areas. 3. The edge brush seemed to spin are different rates depending whether it was on carpet or a hard surface. I did not observe the brush sweeping debris into previously cleaned areas. 4. The item pickup seemed great on both our low cut carpet and laminate wood flooring. The slower side brush seemed to do a decent job moving corner debris out into the vacuums path for removal. 5. Battery usage seemed to average around 10% decrease per 8 minutes (when starting from a 100% charge). 80% of our first floor is carpeted so a floorplan with less carpet may get a better discharge rate. 6. The robot had alignment issues when we set the base on the low cut carpet. If I remember correctly, the charging tabs on the robot were lower than those on the base which did not provide enough contact for a successful docking. Placing the docking station on our laminate flooring solved that problem. 7. The auto-discharge was not as loud as I thought it would be and seemed to run for around 10-15 seconds. 8. The robot was pretty quiet on the middle suction setting which is what it was set at out of the box. I forgot to try the other settings. 9. The robot did a fantastic job navigating around our tables and chairs. It also seemed to like "rooting around" in various corners. It did not get stuck, but did try to drive up the low ramped legs of our recliner and glider rocker. It also drove up the angled lamp base. It was able to drive over all room barriers and area rugs, though it did lift a couple of their corners. That's all I have for now. If I use the mop, I will post my comments here as well.
I bought one off of Walmart and on the second day one of the wheels stopped working and it would just go round and round. Calling customer care was futile. I ended up returning it to Walmart.
Update 2: After speaking with iHome, we will be returning the vacuum due to no planned support for saving multiple maps. They did reply to my question in a timely manner, but said that they have no plans for adding this feature. Makes trying to use it on more than a single floor impossible.
@@AdamsReviews No worries. As you know, there are a tone of these things out there and hopefully new models coming yet this year. Time to wait for more of your great reviews and testing.
It is worth mentioning that it does have multi-floor support unofficially. If you go into the cleaning history you can select a prior clean and then hit "usage" (should be Use or Load, but it's a Chinese OEM unit, so expect translation issues). It'll load that map. I tested it with a few different floors, and as long as I select the right history item, it'll work. Kinda funny to find, since iHome could probably easily tweak that to support multi-floor, since it's already saving the maps.
That is one BIG advantage with small robot vacuum companies. Maybe Roborock will do the same but I see you haven't experienced that because their products are top-notch! Hmmm... looks like the Shark IQ is back to being the WORST! (The Description says big Shoutout to Life, not iHome)
It likely is. Looks like iHome may have acquired branding / distribution rights for the US or Proscenic is OEMing these w/ the application for other companies. iHome is like Wyze, they usually don't make the product they're selling. They just provide the local customer service, usually for a Chinese company/product which doesn't want to deal with that aspect of the US market.
Just bought this robot vacuum at Walmart $269. It was on sale. I was amazed with its performance. Works great. Set up was a breeze. No issues.

It is $299 and $249.
Thanks for the upload! I wish you had a standard matrix for comparing vacs similar to how Concord Carpenter does for cordless power tools.
Any suggestions?

I bought one for my mom and dad looking forward to going home today and trying it out!
Hi Adam, great company, they show they really care. 5 stars for NOVA. Great App and this is one is far better than Shark 🦈. Lol
Cheers. 👍👋🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹

Yes I will check...will do the stress with 2 runs maybe tonight

Love late night random uploads lol
Would love to hear you compare Ihome Nova with Arnagar S8 .... I think comparable features and price.
Would love to see the mopping function.
I hope you told them to slow the side brush down too, it was throwing rice everywhere.
How often do you change bags?

We just purchased one of these today. The app says there is a firmware update and it just sticks there. Can't use the app at all. Any suggestions?
Just got one nd it dose have a plastic paved driveway type thing so I think they listening to you
Can I use this product at 220V?

Are you kidding?...that new machine did a lousy job and does it have any hepa filters so it doesnt throw the dust back into the air?
also the brush bearing needs to have a tiny bit of wd 40 applied to it :) otherwise this bot is perfect
Maybe that’s what’s wrong with my machine. I’ll give that a try!

Thanks...that's what I get for editing so late lol. I fixed it...Yes this is MUCH better than the Shark.
@@AdamsReviews yeah it’s amazing how iHome really improves instantly!
It does sound like the Neabot, and M7 pro
It doesn’t sound anything like the neabot (I’ve owned both)
On sale at Walmart for 299.00!
Works great not sure on the boundary line part of app
This looks just like the procenic m8 pro.

Should Roborock worry about this robot?
The fact that it has a SEB for $400 maybe....at least until they come out with theirs.
