The way the reactions to character's deaths slowly become less emotional, as they realize it's the fate that awaits all of Noble team is heartbreaking.

    • @slinkyslink5161
      @slinkyslink5161 2 года назад +27

Not really... the game never makes you care about them other than the fact they are Spartans and we know what a spartan is. Most of Noble team acts like assholes honestly, except funnily enough, the spartan 2 Jorge. S-2's are supposed to be the ones emotionally unavailable yet he acts more like a sociable person than all the S-3's combined XD.
I love reach but I won't pretend the campaign is a deep, emotional experience. I thought chief was badass, so going to Noble team and seeing these kids with chips on their shoulder who are supposed to be Spartans just act childish and get wiped out made me not like them that much.

@@slinkyslink5161 It isn't the fact that they were the most lovable characters ever, that makes their deaths tragic. It's their devotion to their cause, and their willingness to die for it, that makes it beautiful in a sad sort of way. We respect their devotion, and mourn the loss of some of the greatest heroes the franchise has ever seen.
And that's not even taking into account that, despite their abrasive attitudes, they were our comrades throughout Reach's campaign.
Besides, Master Chief has attained something of a savior image, as he has never truly been defeated. Noble Team's unwavering resolve and painfully apparent mortality is part of the appeal. They were never fighting to survive. Like Chief, they put the greater good of humanity above their own good. They just didn't have enough plot armor to conveniently survive every catastrophe. Nor does it demean their sacrifice like what happens with Master Chief, who is always prepared to die for humanity, but never does.

@@slinkyslink5161 But Master Chief certainly has earned the moniker of "Badass" over his many entries in the series. Especially in the Bungie titles. However, the 343 titles aren't really as bad as people make them seem (at least in my opinion).
The Paramount+ series though, is, in actuality as shameless as it has been portrayed.

Saddest part of Noble team’s deaths is that they are all ironic.
Jorge for a big man, his death meant so little
Kat despite all her battle awareness never saw it coming
Carter died helping his team yet he’d never know if they made it
Emile was the one who could take all those who stood in-front of him, yet he was stabbed in the back
Six went out as he wanted, a Lone Wolf.

Reminds me of something like how
Jorge wanted to die on Reach but didn't, instead dying up in space.
Kat was the brains and she died to getting shot in the head.
Carter was the leader and he died a death that could only do so much to advance his team forward.
Emile loved sharp objects and he gets killed by an energy sword.
Six got the "happy" ending, he was a lone wolf and he died as a lone wolf, he is the only one that knew he completed his mission.

      Jorge: big man, big explosion.
Kat: brains of the team, forgot to turn her shields on and got brained because of it.
Jun: the sneaky sniper, snuck away.
Carter: the captain of noble, went down with the ship.
Emile: close quarters expert, died in close quarters.
(Also could be said he died protecting six but not his own six.)

343 games are not bad. Halo 4 has a great human story. Gameplay is a little weird at times yes some of the enemies aren’t as balanced as other games and that makes it tedious. But it looks beautiful, runs on the same engine as reach, and was released on the xbox360. It’s story is something new and added a whole bunch to the universe and expanded on other things.
Halo 5 people just got upset about the marketing. I understand that but talk to anyone who played the game recently having never seen the marketing for it and they will tell you it is a good game. Again the story was innovative and fresh, the characters are fun and get expanded upon a lot. The gameplay mechanics are great and it runs super well. It has literal hours of extra world building and dialogue that isn’t necessary but it’s all there and is all great.
Infinite was good a bit short but fixed a lot of issues with the storyline people had with 5. All the simps were so upset about one of the Cortana fragments being evil.
The original trilogy? Yeah it’s great and tons of nostalgia. But with the exception of some minor things halo 2 and 3, THEYRE ALL THE SAME GAME. Same story beats almost same exact story structure with certain locations or events switched out but they’re way way similar and way simple.
And this is coming from a huge halo nerd and someone who knows basically as much lore as hiddenxperia

I can look at a map, a mission maybe even a voice line or two and it will flood my memory with different parts of my life and what I was doing at the time. The only thing I hate about the mcc edition of the Halo games is they take away the main menu of every Halo game. The Halo reach and Halo 3 menu music and visuals will always instantly make me feel safe and at home. I fell asleep to them countless times after playing hours and hours of forge just messing around or challenging myself in firefight with all waves being elites. @@aeron_ishi Maybe. But from my perspective, that was just the power of Halo. It was cross generational. Everyone was into it at that time and it offered something for just about anyone. If you were into single player, multiplayer, Firefight (solo or alone), if you were a map maker or a creative type you could do amazing stuff with the theater mode. There was nothing bigger in the Halo 3/ODST/Reach days. Even small fan sites racked up millions of views per day. People were making Halo videos and montages and music or trick videos LONG before it was a function built into their Xbox. Even my little Halo fan art comic strip would rack up thousands of hits on the days when I'd drop new strips. That was just Halo in those days. Everyone from literal children to senior citizens seemed to be digging it.
      Good times, man. Good times.

Reach truly was a love letter from Bungie to the fans. A final sendoff.
Ending it exactly as they started it.
When I saw the final scene of the Pillar of Autumn, exactly as it started in Halo 1, I knew we had come full circle. And even though it was a sad realization that Halo was done, I could do nothing but love the games and the memories they gave me. Truly one of the best game series of all time.

This game had me crying as a kid. There was never an instance where we witnessed a Spartan actually die until this game. Master Chief was my Superman growing up. Reach was a crazy game for me when I was like around 7-8 yrs of age. I practically grew a bond with my spartan and the story reach provided. Each of Nobel’s team death when I saw it for the first time just hurt cuz like I loved the characters. But I remember when I got to lone wolf. The loneliness and hordes of covenant just feel so heavy. The death of noble 6 when Impacted me so hard due to the attachment I had for him that after I finished it. I never touched that mission for so many years due to the weight of your own Spartans death. It was til I was like 14-15 that I replayed it again and yet it still hurt seeing. This game just gave me such a strong emotion that I haven’t seen in a game in a long long time

I loved this video so much I wish there was more of it. So many scenes not shown like the civilian ship going down on exodus. Great editing, fun game play, good shit brother.
This game, Halo CE-Reach is something so beyond special to me. I remember when it came out. My life was always a mess but this story, these characters, the journey i went on from Halo to the Ark and back to Reach did so much more than bind me together through some of the shittiest times. I met some of the most amazing people, the machinima at the time like Rise of The Spartans and Red vs Blue was something unlike youtube has ever seen before and since. This story is so near and dear to my heart, i cant tell you the amount of times ive played or beaten every Halo. When reach came out i hadnt had internet yet, except for a brief moment during Halo 3s run, i grinded that games campaign and firefight to the max level and got the haunted helmet before my very first match. The music, the sounds, the enviornments, its all so....breathtaking... Nothing has come close to this series for me except for BG3 and even then...still...Halo...i wish the series went with Reach. Halo didnt deserve to be what it has become...

Halo reach wasn't my first m rated game I was able to get nor was it my first halo game even. However it was the first game I got to play brand new. I saved up $120 at the age of 12 by going to my neighbors and cleaning their houses or mowing their lawns so I could get the ultra special edition from the game stop down the street. It released on a school night but I begged and pleaded with my dad to let me stay up on the midnight release so I could get it as soon as it was availed and he told me no. I went to bed that night extremely sad because I really wanted that game and now I'd have to wait till he had gotten off work at 5 so I could have him take me to the store and get it. Little did I know he had planned to go wait in line for 3 hours after I went to bed to get the game for me and when I woke up the next morning it was sitting on my kitchen table and he had a massive smile on his face when I realized. I was just barely old enough to begin to grasp the gravity of the sacrifice of that story but I mainly was interested in Lan parties with my friends and forge at that age. After it went through its cycle one day I was bored and decided at about 15 to pop in the campaign again and was absolutely blown away at just how amazing the story was. The glimmers of hope to be destroyed by the covenant appeared en mass over reach after having destroyed the carrier. Having my team slowly and surely killed off akd then that final hopeless battle after the pillar of autumn had flown off leaving u stranded on a dead planet. The speech Halsey gives at the end. It's a game that will never leave the deep special place in my heart where it resides.

my headcanon is that Sergeant Johnson didn't actually die and passed out for a couple minutes, and when he woke up, he walked around drowsily and somehow accidentally activated some forerunner healing technology, which brought him back from the brink of death. He then found an alternate route to a abandoned starship and raced there on a warthog run. Eventually he launches from the spaceship but it's pretty damaged from the blast, unable to fly anymore, and communications are broke too. He goes into cryosleep like Master Chief but won't be found as quickly. Noble Six? Same thing (hell no bro is definitely dead but I can dream).

Reach is a battle we all knew from the very start how would it end. Yet, we've been fighting all this years for that planet. Remembering Reach was what brought victory to humanity in the Covenant war. If it wasn't for all the sacrifice, hope would've be lost. And that's why we continue to fight.

Finding out Jorge was an SII and the rest were SIII's was an absolutely epic moment for me as a fan of the series, books and games. Then watching him be the one to go first and the III's going one by one felt like I was playing the books instead of the games. Like watching Will go while 1 v 2ing Hunters with his fists. To see captain Key's face when he says goodbye hit so damn hard when you know about his history with the SII program. To be able to see it all happen and come as close to experiencing the losses was eye opening. I will love these games forevor. The story is so fucking good it made me emotional at the end, that music that starts you off in lone wolf with the objective reading survive popping up, I instantly knew what was gonna happen in the mission yet I almost didn't believe or at least want to believe it but it's the best way to end it
