At just under 2 and a half hours with one uninterrupted narrative, Season 3 is pretty much Animation vs Minecraft: The Movie when edited together like this. Genuinely awe-inspiring how far Alan and his team have come.
Edit: Also want to give praise to the planning that would've had to have gone into Season 3's narrative *years* ahead of time. Green playing the jingle from way back in the first Note Block episode so Orange would recognize him, or Blue's craving of the Netherwart that he finds in their very first visit being what kickstarts this entire adventure, to name just a couple. There are so many callbacks to things in previous episodes that seemed self-contained, but here are instrumental in moving the plot along. Very few shows nowadays play the long game to such a degree, but DAMN if the payoffs throughout this season weren't some of the best in recent memory. Now I'm just curious what seeds were being planted for Season 4...

My son put this on my TV one day before bed. We always watch educational videos and movies before bed, so I was curious why he chose this. I've never seen anything made by Alan, but now I'm utterly thankful my son put this on. In the beginning we made jokes, but then I became completely captivated as it went on. I tell ppl this is the best "movie" I've ever seen on RUclips.

I never imagined a stick figure animation would make me cry. 'The King' is easily his best "short", by far. This entire season actually wouldn't have happened if blue didn't have to fuel its manic Netherwart addiction. We all have to be glad buddy gave in to those intrusive thoughts.

Was streaming this on discord two days ago as a joke movie night to my friends. When they asked why I was watching stickmen I said calmly and unabashedly the damn thing had made me cry twice. They joked and didn’t really seem to believe me, carrying on convos and playing other games over the 2 hours.
Realized during the Herobrine sequence it was dead quiet and they didn’t start talking again until credits. 😂
Honestly, I initially thought these shorts were intended for a younger audience but then I walked into my roon with this playing on the television and I was hooked within the first 5 minutes, truly amazing and captivating. Goes to show you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Keep up the excellent work you guys! 🌟
The last 40 minutes of this season never fails to get me all coked up. I know everyone is saying that we should turn this into a Netflix adaptation, but can you imagine how Hollywood would ruin this beloved series? We should all be thankful that Alan Becker spends all this time to give us this much action and story for free. We should never take this kind of work for granted.

This entire series started because of Nether Wart, ended with a family being reunited, friends finding a new friend to tag along with, a village blooming with new delight, the world of music expressing emotion, a old lost civilization being found and 5 friends ending a hard fought battle

Well, you could say it all started with nether wart and blue's addiction to it, but a valid point also is, at 25:09, purple goes into the portal to the parkour course, and the group stays behind and starts questioning whether they should go because of SC's past experiences in season 1. When purple sits down with his arms crossed, Red essentially takes the bait and is guilt-tripped into going, and the rest of the group follows suit. If Red didn't look back on Purple and they got to the portal to the Nether Fortress, this mess could've been avoided, given the possibility of something even worse popping up.
I think the character I appreciate the most is Herobrine. Not only was him versus the Orange King an aspect of someone who's studied a topic against someone who lives the topic but also Herobrine actually understands the threat then Orange King absorbs the first Steve. He wasn't thinking "Whatever, I can still win" it was "What the hell? I think Im boned.." And even took steps to avoid getting too close.
Like the level of self awareness Alan and his team put into these characters is truly a master level of story telling and so rare to see in most media.
That's what you should expect from the teacher and They made it so perfect
Ok, why is no one appreciating the cinematic music??? Yes, the animation is can’t be described beyond words but the music is just as good! Imagine watching the video with no music, that would be horrible. Anyway, the person who does most of the music is Scoot Buckley! He’s amazing and you should definitely check him out and subscribe to him for his hard work. I also wanted to say THANK YOU ALAN BECKER AND HIS TEAM! The story line, the “ dialogue” with no words, just everything is truly indescribable! You made me tear up a lot even though I’m not an emotional person, i appreciate all the hard work you put into this. THANK YOU x1000000

The way that it starts and ends with Blue playing a music disc is awesome, I can’t believe it’s been so long since this amazing series began and so much has happened throughout the seasons, the amount of work and dedication is insane
The only important difference is that his favorite food which is netherwart was there at the end compared to running out at the beginning.

what i really love is that we don't even know how powerful Herobrine exactly is until The King, where he demonstrates his ability to basically go toe-to-toe with god
what impresses me even more is that Herobrine keeps his distance, he knows EXACTLY what the Ultimate Weapon is capable of, and is doing all he can to not get absorbed

The food that each of the Colored Gang is such good attention to detail even if it may not matter.
The different foods they hold up is a reference to the "Actual Shorts" series.
Second Coming holds up Beef as a reference to the Actual Short called, well, Beef where he's the main character.
Red holds up a Bucket of Milk as a reference to Water Bucket Clutch where he tries to clutch with milk and it.. doesn't end too well.
Blue holds up netherwart as a reference to his severe addiction to it which is not an Actual Short series reference or it's a reference to Carrot on a Stick where Yellow uses a netherwart version of Carrot on a Stick.
Yellow probably holds up a Cooked Chicken as a reference to the Actual Short, My Ghast Friend

A detail I noticed is that at 1:40:44 he only does the copy’s once and when he realized that didn’t work at 1:41:57 he made a lot more clones of them, and when they got destroyed, at 2:11:20 he made a combination of the 2 strongest people there, showing that the king learns quickly

I loved the musical bit with purple. I am a bit sad that purple isn't a permanent team member now. A full rainbow (minus indigo if you must) would have been kinda cool.

the cooking scenes that bookend this whole season are such a perfect example of recontextualization. its such a benign and innocuous event in the beginning, but at the end, after everything everyones been through, after they were all so far away from home for so long, an identical cooking scene becomes such an emotional ending. theyre home! and everything is ok now💛 huge thanks to alan and the team for making this series happen

I absolutely LOVED this season. There are no words to describe how I feel about this whole story. It was absolutely amazing and I can't believe something like this came from youtube. The fact that this all started from simple nonsense to a full blown story and deep lore is just incredible. All the fights were so well animated, the music was amazing, even the characters and story were so deep and unique, made me tear up even. I genuinely loved this whole series and cannot wait for more stuff. Once again, genuinely loved everything about this series, I hope you are as proud of it as everyone else is.

Dude…that’s all I can say about this. Emotions and feelings that were invoked from the plot, all the way to the finer details. The soundtrack brings you into the moment, and the character backstories highlight sympathy towards them. When we dove into the past of Orange and Purple, I had a whole reality check and it opened up perspectives I never considered before. Alan, well done. I didn’t think you could top animator vs animation, but this brought it to a whole other level. Bravo Alan, bravo

I almost agree coz there are some better than this. But I loved the portal stories when each of them came out of portals to fight because they helped out and they made a friend or a few along the way, like warden, mobs, the big raveger. It's true tho, it has everything. We even got basically a prison scene with a secret mission to take rule, plus raveger friend. I loved every bit of it.😢
Btw the end has cyclical structure coz in the end they got the nether warts and they had a grill sorta thing😊

I can't believe this made me cry and this reminded me of my childhood and my father, this has healed me so much, and In the end the father realized he can never save his son but he can save a boy that he sees as his own son, and the father was blinded with guilt and rage that his own creation almost destroyed him but in the end it healed him and helped him to move on in the loving memory of his own son and his new son that never had a chance to have a father and lost his own father and the same thing for orange who had a son but lost him, its not always happy endings that help us move on but the memories that carry our precious children, parents, loved ones, and ourselves in a unique way and sometimes fear can be a drought of your own suffering and the only one to stop yourself is you but it's also a beautiful blessing in disguise for it can form us in our destination and at first it will seem hopeless but in the end it will always be worth it. "I love you Dad and I'm sorry I was taken away from you a long time ago but one day I will see you and thank you for trying to see me, I forgive you Dad for all of it"...
look i'm probably going to be singing this season's praises for the rest of my life. it's incredible how much depth this team put into a story about stick figures playing minecraft. it's a genuinely moving and creative piece, told entirely without dialogue- the perfect example of "show, don't tell". amazing.

To think Alan had ambitions to work at PIXAR, before he was turned down. The amazing work he and his team have put out in this series ALONE shows that he was beyond qualified to be an animator at Pixar... And now, he's doing something arguably better.

I have actually no words. Alan over these years you've created such a touching, engaging, exciting and sorrowful story WITHOUT EVEN a need to involve any words and yet still manage to express all those emotions in just a figure animation... Holy crap i couldn't help myself and cried so hard at the end. Its not just a figure animation - its a Masterpiece.

Yes I just watched a 2 and a half hour movie of stickmen in minecraft that had absolutely zero dialogue. Yes it was better than 99% of the stuff big corporations come out with. Yes it was beautiful. Alan Becker, I dont know how you and your team do it, but this is an absolute masterpiece

These 2 and a half hours were worth every second... The music, the sound effects, the story... Down right brilliant. Now to pray for season 4, if it will ever exist. Seriously though, well done Alan, as well as everyone who helped create this masterpiece. It's truly amazing.

Season 4 could have potential aswell but it would take a lot of thought and good story writting to make a good or even better season

The fact that Alan can show us the emotions of these stick figures WITHOUT a face is just magic to me, these stick figures show more emotions then most Hollywood actors and actresses.
The last part "The king" made me ugly cry and I feel stupid crying at stick figures...
I NEED Mat Pat to make a theory bout this series cause the lore is just writen out to us.

a small detail i noticed was at 1:31:54 the king just threw the gold block not realizing it would risk giving them something if they got the staff back, while at 1:42:03 the king learns from his mistake and destroys the block fearing he might risk losing the staff and giving them a resource.
