DOWN II album is so underrated, 1 of my favorites
This is so badass. I miss this era of Down
I was at this show. Out of hundreds of concerts I've seen, this is still in the top 5
troopershollar 79 Seen them a week later and is still my favorite Show of all time. They we’re on fire back then.
The best Down shows of their career IMO were the OVER THE UNDER tours of late 2007.
They were playing 2 hour sets. I remember hearing the first 7 songs off Over The Under plus 6 songs off each of the first 2. Longest set ive seen Anselmo do. I remember they opened with THE PATH and destroyed for 2 hrs.
Then lineup changes started . Oh well, the EPs are really solid but the 2 albums with REX were special. They really had that classic rock sound sprinkled in

Hey the good news is now KIRK WINDSTEIN is back in the band.
One of the last ranch bowl shows with old school hometown love.
Beautifully Depressed, thats a tough one to find live
HAIL REX BROWN
Great footage brother. Takes me back to the dirty ol days, its all bullshit now! .
I agree with all my brothers saying this was one of the best shows they ever been to. It was such a great vibe that night!
Always loved "Supertzar" as their walk on music.
The good ol days..Our stage is your stage ...Man I miss those days this was the end of that era unfortunately.
They didn't play Bury Me in Smoke? Jesus, this must be one of the only concerts they've ever done without it.
I was at this show. It was the encore. It's cut from the vid.
I was @ this show right up front. Phil was high AF & had bleeding tracks on his arm. It was sad & disgusting. But as much as I hate to say it he was totally on point that night. Glad he was finally able to conquer the demons & made it out. Guy is the stuff legends are made of.
This was the peak of his addiction
well you're clearly a liar because phil never injected.
1: i have buddies in phil's circle. im not bragging, im not saying i know phil. we have mutual friends. we've talked about phil and his drug use, and i've talked with phil during this era. even when he was at his heaviest use in the superjoint days, i have friends that WATCHED him and jimmy smoke heroin. he never used needles. he has made the gesture for injection to refer to it while singing about it because that visual makes more sense than making a smoking gesture because most people dont associate heroin with smoking it.
2: phil has LITERALLY written songs and lines about it. for example: "i've done it all but tapped the vein"
3: there are multiple interviews, especially the one he did at the nola college where he talks about his heavy heroin use and how much he used to SMOKE.
4: you also don't know shit about heroin because you wouldn't have "multiple bleeding tracks on their arms." like...literally all you have to do is google how to inject heroin or watch videos of people injecting. they don't do ANYTHING you've tried to describe it as. you watch too many movies and you're now inserting yourself in something that doesn't even need the fake bullshit. don't make shit up about people to try to sound cool. what are you a 15 year old?
Jeff Anderson ok, on point 2, Hard Lines was on Far Beyond Driven. He hadn’t used heroin at that point. He was heavily using painkillers but he hadn’t moved on to heroin till the Far Beyond Driven tour.
On point 3 with his presentation he did where he read his piece “Heroin”, he was literally referring to chain-smoking cigarettes while strung out waiting for someone to deliver balloons to his house. In the same presentation he also refers to giving one of his friends a “pussy shot” through a needle. So yeah, he definitely smoked it (“the pull of the dragon, the pull of the drug” for example), but he was totally injecting at some point too.
On point 4, I agree with you, there’s no way he’d be bleeding tracks like that from injecting. That’s so overtly animated, a Hollywood thing. Cutting himself, however, I wouldn’t put it past him. He used to bust his head open and shit like that all the time during this era...
@50 Peso Army phil only smoked heroin. he has always been very adamant about never injecting. literally has lyrics about it. "i've done it all but tapped the vein." and during his college speech, he says bangs the bags. not shoots. there's a difference in slang here. learn it.
@@jeffXedge I don’t give a shit about lyrics when the guy has literally mentioned shooting up on multiple occasions. The time he almost died during an overdose he shot up. What do you think people laying around smoking heroin like the opium dens of yesterday. Again I could give a fuck about the lyrics when you can google interviews with him telling the person about shooting up. Also who the fuck cares if he shot up. Most heroin users shoot up which is the best way to do the drug. You’re fucking wasting it by smoking it. Phil will be the first one to tell you he shot up. He doesn’t give a fuck what people think. You’re making it sound like that’s gross he shot up. Phil’s better than that. I can’t think of Phil using a needle. Again who the fuck care if he did. Majority of the time you’re not gonna overdose like he did in Dallas without shooting the dope up. I’m not sure why you’re denying something Phil has mentioned quite a bit to friends/musicians and so forth. Get off your high horse you’re no better than anyone else.
I was at this show! I remember "Bury Me In Smoke" being the encore. Too bad the encore is cut on here. This was one of the best Down shows I ever saw. Check out my vids, I did a cover of "Where I'm Going". Would love to hear what some true Down fans think of my version.
Badass rare show.
Crazy I was born the next day lol
I was born the day before this lol
