Unironically never been more disappointed in a fromsoft enemy than this thing. Pretty much every other enemy in the game can be killed without any crafted items, and cue this thing out of nowhere
In which you can only craft said item to defeat these one's from killing the other one's. What happens when you run out of said items? NG+! Such a dumb idea.
@@TheMeanArena actually there are two items you can use to defeat them: The hefty fire pots and the hefty furnace pots. While the hefty furnace pots are stronger and will do the job faster, they are "limited" due to the crafting components (they aren't actually since the furnace visages are farmable but that's besides the point), the hefty fire pots, which are what the dude uses in the video, are made from ingredients that are like everywhere in the DLC (Redflesh Mushrooms and Black Pyreflys), and that are easily farmable, though the item is weaker.
Same here, everytime I go to get close to throw the pots in he pulls his fireball bulls@#$ or jumps up and grabs me which scared tf out of me the first time as i was not expecting that 😂
My guess that fire is their weakness because by burning them you're speeding up the burning process of their contents to the point of quickly consuming their fuel source. Head canon and not official, pure speculation
This is such a bad mechanic. Why would you ever think to attack this thing with fire of all things? Zero elaboration, just "Lol, have you tried the most random option? No? Why not?" And they KNOW you only have a limited amount. They're padding for time with this BS and people praise them for it.
@@super_5402 You're the one throwing a fit because someone criticized your videogame online. You're here, looking it up too, proving my point. Would you like me to get you a bottle?
Use a flamedrake talisman to negate firedamage and use the “visage”-shield (if you have one), to basically don’t take any fire damage and then throw 3 “hefty furnace pots” like in the video and he’s down.
is there a way to make infinite fire pots? threw 5 and he didn't die , and now I don't have anymore. This is sooo stupid , I hate this part of Elden RIng. Why do they only let you make a hand full of these?
Yeah, the fire pot items are farmable I believe you can pick up the black pyreflys near castle front and fast travel back to the grace and they respawn. Redflesh mushrooms are all over. Keep in mind the hefty cracked pots don't get used, they return to your inventory after thrown as empty contatiners. Maybe I should make a couple quick farming guides for this.
Easier said than done, trying to throw the pots into its head is harder than killing the un armoured ones, he jumps up to grab me then one shots me, plus everytime I go to get close he hails down a shit storm of fire balls resulting with me running away shitting myself 😅
There is a note in the right side of shadow keep castle , as "Furnace keepers note" That says : "Keep fire pots well clear when the golem's furnace is ablaze - and never let me catch you with pots that produce flaming whirlwinds, for goodness sake" Ok I get it , but why do we have to use a consumable to kill an enemey ?
Thanks for the video. I don’t know if anyone else mentioned it but the pots are buffed by jar head and jar talisman. I only had 4 hefty furnace pots in total and missed the first one. Thought I had to retreat and craft more but the third one killed it. Plus if you feel brave and the golem is close enough to the ledge while charging those fire balls, you can ride torrent in, throw the pot and run away quickly
@@ApeKnightGaming right before main entrance to Shadow Keep I think near the inactive furnace golem, you can actually find a note that says that you should keep fire pots away from active golems. It also mentions "pots that produce whirlwinds of flame", likely hinting at the inactive golem below Shadow Keep that you can activate with them. So, while not exactly intuitive, at least it's hinted at.
I didn't know what the reward for this particular golem was so I didn't feel like using and possibly wasting all those rare crafting materials. Instead I rode around the dude with Torrent spamming Ancient Death Rancor. About three casts between each fire ball attack and then rinse and repeat. Make sure you aim for the face and cast relatively close so the spell actually lands. When you run out of flasks just run around one of the numerous pack of wolves in the area and have the fire balls kill the pack for a complimentary flask replenishment.
If your pots are in use, you can put whatever you’ve already crafted into your chest. It opens the pots for you without wasting whatever you already crafted :)

This really worked for me. Not the throwing pots part as that’s everywhere, but I came from the south side grace, so you have to sort of lure the thing north, then ride back and take the spiritspring, and that allows you to keep it on the north (left) side as per the video. So when the stupid fireball barrage comes, hiding behind the ridge - as per the video - protects you. If you come from the grace and just go straight to the spring, he’ll stay on the right and just thwack you. Also, I used flamedrake talisman, a high fire resist shield (visage), and then just rolled through the first barrage when I ran back to it. You only need to deal with one barrage, as constant free throws of the pots will just stop it doing anything.
