When I was just getting back into archery I was recommended the Option sight. Had some arrow building and sight questions. Dan called me up well after hours and just poured some knowledge. It was awesome, extremely helpful and completely unexpected.
Ya man, he's known for that sort of thing, good business practices for sure! -DS
Dude,.....world class vid !! Made my day that Dan's a believer,...and that you mentioned it!
Dan seems like a really good guy. These sights just came onto my radar after listening to a Rokslide podcast the other day. Now I'm wishing I had known about them earlier but my muledeer season opens in less than a week so something to look at down the road.
Two great ideas Dan! Yes, Dan should get back into the rest game and Bill should design a three blade broadhead. I started my archery journey with Trophy Taker rests. They were bomb proof!
Dan Evans is such a cool dude. Talked to him many times now, goes above and beyond every time. Stand up guy and an absolute elk slayer.
I ordered the Canyon pounder 3 pin today!!! Can’t wait to get it set up 🤙🏻🏹
Content just keeps getting better Dan Staten! DE's Shakey Hunter was my first drop away used to kill my first DIY bull in the Lagarita Wilderness in 2005. And, for a guy from the midwest...Ohio used to shooting whitetails within 40 yards, it changed everything. That lit the flame for me and a tight knit group of Buckeye elk hunters, and we now make it a yearly elk pilgrimage to the west. Thanks for motivating the dream.
Evans is THE OG
This was incredible to watch. My first and only sight was the Option 6. Such a phenomenal product. Been through the elements and the only blemish is blood stains on the sight tape. I look at other sights and don’t even think twice about not having an Option. Awesome to learn more about Dan and the new products!
Thank you Dan for the great podcast with Dan. He made a great rest. The sight looks pretty awesome God's Blessings
I am running 2 Mach 30 bows set up identical with the Option 6 custom pin colors. I can seamlessly shot one and then the other with no difference.
I am one that likes as compact of a sight system as I can get so with that I run the direct mount. The Option 6 has become my favorite sight to date and I really like a fixed housing sight with the ability to dial for extended ranges for pin point accuracy. Simplicity and Durability all in one compact package. The customer service is awesome and I like Dan and what he represents.
What a cool dude. Awesome content as usual Mr. Staton. Very humbling; you continue to have so many expert guests that make us feel like we have some catching up to do if we want to call ourselves elk hunters.
Awesome content on both the video and the podcast! Thanks for getting him on!
I listened to the podcast. Dan seems like a great guy
“ Big Ol’ Joint Right In Here Somewhere” 😂😂 Can Tell Dan is From Washington 😂 Great Video as Always! As someone only a year into Bow Hunting I’ve learned a lot from this channel 👍
Haha! Glad somebody caught that lil joke! -DS
🙌🙌🙌 Awesome Job Dan! Great piece. I met Dan Evans a few years back, just like you said, humble and filled with knowledge. Keep up the great work.
Awesome! Thank you! See you at Big Sky I hope! -DS
Put this sight on my setup this year, it’s perfect. I love shooting 3D but my primary use is hunting. Having a single mover + a set 5 pin is a game changer. Shot TAC with it this year and can’t wait to get it into the field. Great content as usual 🤟🏻
The blurry smile behind the camera when Evans says, “I know there’s a hole in there somewhere” 😂
Great vid Dan!! Dan Evans what a great guy! Thanks for sharing. Love the real deal. Keep up the good work Dan
Option archery is great! I have all of their stuff on my Mathews Phase 4. I love it and it makes sense.
Awesome video! Dan is a legend. Definitely going to check out his stuff
Thanks for watching! -DS
Hey Brother. I'm so glad you got to do the podcast. Dan sure knows his stuff. I'll keep it family friendly. As much as I want one of his Canyon Pounder sights, I can't justify putting that nice of a sight on either of my bows. A 16 year old Diamond Triumph or a 2022 Bear Legit would look pretty funny with a sight that's more expensive than the bow. I'll get there one day. That sight is as close to perfect as they get, so I see them being around forever. Great video.
Ya man, do your best with what ya got! -DS
@ElkShape That's all we can do, Brother. I have both bows dialed in pretty nice. aybe I'll get a Pounder and show up to TAC with my 16 year old Triumph and give some people a run for their money. Lol. I'd definitely have to upgrade before attempting anything like that.
Another A+ video from Dan. Keep them coming. Love the interviews with world hunters and shooters. I'm waiting for Dan to make a video with Levi Morgan... just saying!
Great video!!
My bow is totally optioned out. Quivilizer cache bar and the glorious option 8 with an oval peep! My only wish is that they made a smaller oval peep
Dan would have been a great audience contestant on "Let's Make A Deal". If ole Monty Hall would ask him if he had a hard boiled egg in his stabilizer he'd produce one and win $100.
He Loves the Lord, loves his family! Great to celebrate!
Dang it this guy is living my dream. Remote land, time, and bows. Haha
That house is dope!!!
The one thing that I have always taken from Evans is that you need to hunt where giants live. You can't expect to kill a 400 inch bull if there aren't any in the area you are hunting. I think he was hunting and getting NV tags during the hay days... Good Stuff
AHAHAHAHA.... I typed that before he said it... ahah
Its all in where you hit . A practice point will kill dear if you double lung. I use a 3 blade fix only shot 20 yard but 40 foot pracrice has helped
Montana makes the best bow sights option and black gold and I wonder what tag he didn’t draw the breaks or maybe the bear paw tag but the bear paws is far from guaranteed, unless you have 11 bonus points so who knows I’ll be in a boat floating the river in eastern Montana was in Darby and Lincoln the previous years getting pretty crowded during archery season
I use a fuse 10 in. Carbon blade stabilizer from 2012
Fantastic video!
🙏🏼
May have to check this sight out. Looking for something to replace my black gold mountain lite.
How heavy is the canyon pounder?
It's not the lightest option out there... I'll have to weigh it! -DS
The weight varies depending on the mount option…….the Direct Mount and Pic Rail are about 11.5 ounces, the Extension Mount and Bridge-Lock Extension are both a couple ounces heavier. 👍🏼
Thanks guys appreciate the response. Does the mathews bridgelock come in 2 different lengths by chance like a 4" and a 6". I run mine all the way in so don't need a the extra length, ie extra weight.
@@Sparky513in that case I would recommend the direct mount (like we installed on Dan’s bow here)……. It places the sight in close to the bow, weighs the least, and still gives plenty of clearance on arrows in the quiver (even for Mathews low profile quiver).
More in my accessories than my 2012 bear legion set at 50 lb 27 draw 356 arrow weight. 480 bloodline. 29 in
Hi Dan can we get a long term CP review please?
Dopppeeee video
People might balk at the price but archery is at the point where rifle hunters were 10 years ago. We have learned that you can have a $2,000 rifle but if you have crappy optics you are hamstrung. Between pin size, clarifiers, verifiers, housing size, sight bare length there is a lot of room to "ABT" and getting better
I shoot a blackgold accent whitetail 3 pin adjustable
Going to sell my landslyde and pick up a canyon pounder. Nice sight
It's a pretty darn good sight! -DS
For anyone with a monetized hunting channel, did they demonetize you for harvesting animals?
Nuts/ who could follow that.
Damn there's alot going on with that site
Great video wish it was longer ….ABT
I think your channel was a lot better when you had Josh jones on your channel. Not so great channel anymore.
Ryan, Check out HIS RUclips Channel - you can watch him multiple times a week about all sorts of neat stuff. He's got a podcast now too. He might even have an Only Fans account if you dig hard enough! (Just joking about the last part). -DS
Great vid 💯
Thanks 💯
Great video!
