  • I'm setting up ubiquiti nanostation m5 for point to point Wifi or point to multi point Wifi.
This allows me to cover about 1 mile distance of sending the signal.
It's for outdoor and indoor use.
If you are using other nanostation model, the setup and process more or less the same.
Where can I buy the product ?

Wow, you described my property perfectly! You must be a mind-reader or an Ancient Egyptian Alien who used the M5 nanostations 4500 years ago when you connected the Pyramids for Wifi. Thanks for the super awesome simple diagram and explanation. I am setting this up on my property ASAP!

We had some of these. Had being the key word here as these loco series seem to have random manufacturing flaws that cause their firmware to hang up, either after making a change in the setup or turning one into an access point. IDK how many we RMAed back to the factory but I got tired of it and all 15 of them met my sledge hammer and I bought Ruckus radios and they been rock solid.. If you get the ubiquiti radios just opt for the standard nanostations and stay away from the loco series.

Thank you for this video. It helped me find what i was missing. I am curious as to why you changed each device to DHCP? I have always set my M5's up to use static so that I can easily connect to them for management purposes.

Hi, how can I configure 4 ubiquiti loco m5 antennas to send data from cameras if I have problems with a building that blocks the signal and does not let me send it directly and I have to make a kind of M to carry the data to the tower where the NVR recorder is. I understand that the antenna that is in the cameras must be station mode, then the others?

I have a LocoM2. Can I just skip the second M2 and use the WiFi sent from the Access Point in building A "directly" with WiFi clients in building B?
In my case building B is only about 150 yards away.

Simon, when I plug my computer into Station B with an Ethernet Cable, I'm not getting a signal. The LAN light on the back of the Nanostation M5 is on and the light where I plug it into my computer is also on. It feels like there is something not quite configured correctly on my laptop to receive the signal. Any thoughts?

Anybody know the average or max data transfer rate for these? Mine seem to have slowed down to super slow. Not sure where the issue is.

Hi Simon - want to use AC Loco M5 as PMP. One used as AP, another used as Station. For the other station can I use a NSM5? Reason is that I need the 2nd Ethernet port. Upgrading from all NSM2's, and have spare AC Locos. Thank you

I'm not 100% sure if M2 has multipoint. Look up the manufacturer specs. If get, should be the same setup.
