  • How to setup POE camera over wireless long distance ?
    So that you do not need to run a long network cable.
    I'm setting up ubiquiti nanostation m5 for point to point Wifi or point to multi point Wifi.
    This allows me to cover about 1 mile distance of sending the signal.
    It's for outdoor and indoor use.
    If you are using other nanostation model, the setup and process more or less the same.
    Where can I buy the product ?

    question: what's the minimum continuous bandwidth necessary for each 4K camera?
    in other words: each wireless model/family (2.4GHz, 5Ghz as shown, AC, and 60Ghz stuff, etc.) has different throughput speeds... and if we want to run for instance 8, or 12, or 16 cameras on one POE switch... we'd want to make sure the wireless throughput could handle all that data flow over the wireless link. thanks for the great video!

    Well explained but you missed the router connection.. We put the access point cable into router and take a output from router to the NVR.. That only gives internet signal to the NVR and we can connect the remote cameras..

Can I leave it just set up for one thing only ubiquity and leave that first step alone I have half a dozen laptop so I can use just for ubiquity. Can I save those steps so I can just transfer them as a save file? for Station A & B. And just load them that way all the time a sec configuration.

    If you attempt to run in the cables longer than 240 feet, you might have issues some cameras can go up to 350 feet depends on the manufacture.
    Always use cat six do not use cat 5 e 150 feet. Do not mix pins. Make sure you have the blue and white and the brown and white in the correct spot. Otherwise you will destroy the camera.
    White orange, orange, white green blue red blue green white brown brown Blue and white and brown and white or power.

      You can, but you need to make you acquire units that are capable of point to multipoint, and then your only limitation is the 'beam width'. (Making sure the receiving units are in the path of the focused beam)

    • @macformat

      5ghz is more suitable for more bandwith due to channel amplitude 20/40/80mhz but less range compared to lower freq, like 2.4 ghz band but more interference.

    Thanks very much, but what if there is no internet connection can the wireless cam in the b building still work?

    • @CW-eg7wd
      @CW-eg7wd Год назад

      Yes it will. If you do not have internet at all this will work locally. But building b will be connecting to building a via the antenna connection. Think of the antenna connection as an imaginary Ethernet cable. All you are doing is extending your internet from building a to building b. You could go as far as installing a PoE switch on building b and adding a wireless access point to give building b wifi internet access as well as hardwire devices.

  • @joelrggizmo1373
    @joelrggizmo1373 Год назад

    If you were sending out from the output of the back of the NVR Poe power and you're sending it back through the POE injector on the non-POE side you should probably most likely avoid the blue and white and brown and white pairs so it does not cause damage and power back through the POE injector . Need to make a custom cable what uses pins 123 & 6 / I'm not sure if the ubiquity power supply can handle the power from the NVR going into it. Because you have power going from the power over Ethernets switch to power the antenna but you're also sending power from the NVR back through the same Poe injector. I know it's more trouble that I would make up a special cable. ? Otherwise, you're doing a very good job explaining thumbs up. If you use the RJ-45 pass-through, it's very easy to make up your own connector. Pins 123 6 which would be in white orange, orange, white, green & 6 pin green that way you were avoiding the blue and white and white and brown which injector power.
