If Tyrion wasn't a dwarf, he'd have been Tywin's favourite. I feel Tywin hated the fact that he saw so much of himself in Tyrion. As Genna once said, Tyrion is Tywin's son. They're similar

I think part of the reason Tywin hates Tyrion than not care for him is because Tyrion is exactly likely Tywin but only Tyrion doesn’t need to hide his flaws and make everyone fearful of him to control them unlike Tywin does

I think Tywin would’ve made Tyrion hit the books just as much, as we do know Jamie was dyslexic and Tywin sat him down every day for 4 hours until he learned. I think Tyrion is pretty clever naturally, and if Tywin had shown him any sort of affection he probably would’ve ended up modelling himself after his father, not spending his time drinking and whoring, instead taking his fathers lessons seriously, just like Cersei.

    - Cersei didn't revive the faith militant after Tywin's death
    - Joffrey married Sansa and not Margaery

I’d like to think Tyrion would be a lot more like Tywin, Jamie had dyslexia and it caused Tywin a lot of grief that his son wasn’t as book smart as he was. Tyrion would still be intelligent and I think Tywin would get him to read as he did with Jaime and he’d do it a lot better and he may become Tywins favourite. Jamie would join the kings guard still, Tyrion would be heir to house Lannister and be like a Tywin Junior.

  • @Claverleykid1
    @Claverleykid1 6 лет назад +17

I always thought Tyrion would have been near enough exactly like his Father. If Jaime is naturally a good fighter then Tyrion is naturally inclined to reading and being clever. The joke of the character as we know is he would easily be Tywin's favourite if he wasn't a dwarf or if he was just cared for properly growing up. I can imagine Tywin being a bit relieved at Jaime joining the kingsguard meaning Tyrion would take over the house.

He'd probably be given to King's Landing for Joffrey to behead so that he can have the image of killing Robb himself. If the execution would be set after his wedding to Margaery Tyrell, he could either be: 1) released by Jaime as an alternative of his promise to Catelyn to save her daughters (Arya was gone, but he may think Robb would do to fulfill the other half of his oath) and have him join Tyrion and Varys to sail across the Narrow Sea and for Robb to be Tyrion's protector; or 2) he'll be snuck out by Littlefinger (less likely as Robb is more Ned unlike Sansa, but maybe he despises the Lannisters for Catelyn's death) and he'll be sailing with him and Sansa to the Vale. Robb could be one of his "gifts" to Sansa like in the books, where he promised Sansa Harry Hardyng, the Vale of Arryn, and Winterfell. Robb could be another gift in order to make Sansa think that she owes Littlefinger so much that she has no choice but to do what he says.

She probably would have been in the trial by combat as well with either Oberyn or potentially Loras as her champion (the former if Cersei pushes for there to only one between the two. The latter is if the laws allow for each defendant to get their own champion). Assuming the canon plays out (one or both get their heads smashed). Great minds think alike; I came to the same conclusion about Cersie( she'd "ride " pole is she found it attractive!😂😂)! Tyrion has a compassionate streak, that his siblings lack, so I think he wouldn't be as arrogant as Tywin or Jaime nor cruel, if he had grown up tall and handsome.

Paula James It has been mentioned that her attraction to Jaime is mostly because he is literally a male version of herself, not just a handsome brother. And she mentions how they have been together since the beginning, there is more of a connection that way. Although I suppose anything is possible especially if he was tall and handsome.

I have had similar thoughts about what a normal-size Tyrion would be like. Of course, his confidence would likely be boosted among "other" things, but we know that he would still be a second son until Jaime takes the oath of a kingsguard. Tywin might send his son Tyrion as a ward to produce a marriage alliance with another house. Ned's father Rickard Stark did it for him when he sent Ned to live with Jon Arynn. The Martells might have even taken Tywin up on the offer for Elia Martell, but she was quite a bit older than Tyrion. This timeline wouldn't have wanted to hold an alliance for years in waiting for a boy to be of age to get a child on a woman past her prime birthing years. He could have any other high born woman with his father's blessing.

What if the Night King was killed by Jon Snow during the Hardhome battle?
What if Littlefinger was actually killed in that earlier episode when Cercei told her guards to kill Littlefinger? (Remember the conversation about power? Littlefinger was like 'knowledge is power' and Cercei was like 'no, power is power')

What if the White Walker killed Sam and Gilly beyond the wall?

What if Rickon and Bran swapped places?
What if Jamie and Cercei had just ordered their armies to kill off the faith millitant when they did their staring competition in the streets of King's Landing?
What if the Night King was never created? (What if the Children of the Forrest did not shove that dragonglass piece in that man's chest?)
What if the continent of Essos never existed?
What if Euron Greyjoy was never born? (Mainly TV show based query)
What if Yara had beaten Euron and became the Queen of the Iron Islands first?
What if Ned had bent the knee to Joffrey and not delivered him the letter denouncing him and saying Ned Stark should be King?

Whether or not Tyrion hit the books, he would still have the signature Lannister cunning and intellect on par if not greater than his father. The tragedy of Tyrion and Tywin, and why I hold the Tyrion Targaryen theory in contempt, is the fact that Tywin could never accept Tyrion as his son even though he was the child who was most like him.
